Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Casa Igarapé: Eco cabana em terra c/ hidro e vista

Casa Igarapé is an ecological hut at the foot of the Serra de Igarapé, made with raw earth, steel, wood and ceramics. Integrated into the landscape, it has a balcony and spa with heated hydro and open views of the hills, intense sunset and starry sky, away from the city lights. Almost absolute silence, broken only by toucans and siriemas. Ideal for remote work with concentration. Between Itaúna and Inhotim, perfect for couples from Belo Horizonte and the region or from other cities in search of peace and warmth.

Wee Nook- a Hobbit Hole

Wee Nook is a 360 square foot living space with a full kitchen and bathroom. It is tucked underground in the middle of the woods. Please come enjoy the woods, farm animals, trails, pond and wide open space while you're here! As JRR Tolkien said: “In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hold, and that means comfort.”

Recanto Hobbit- Casa Hobbit @recantohobbit

Inspired by the tales of J.R.R. Tolkien, we built a beautiful Hobbit Hole and hosted couples from "all kingdoms"! Come too! Breakfast for 2 people is included, delivered to the door of the Hole. No pets. "It was not an unpleasant, cold, damp den, full of worm remains and the smell of mud, nor a dry, empty, sandy den, with nothing to sit on and nothing to eat! It was a Hobbit's burrow, and that means good food, a warm fireplace and all the comforts of home" Bilbo Baggins

Charming old half-timbered bread oven, located on the edge of the stream, it consists of: - Living room with a wood-burning stove, - Kitchen, - Upstairs: - shower/WC room accessible by a miller ladder (see photos), -bedroom with a 160 x 200 bed overlooking the stream, accessible by a miller ladder (see photos), Bedroom and bathroom do not communicate. Drummond Tower / Castle

Victoria Drummond Tower was built as a Folly Tower in the victorian period in 1858 by William Drummond Delap as part of Monasterboice House & Demesne. The tower is regarded as a folly tower built in remembrance of his late mother. Recently restored into a small habitable dwelling and is now available for rental for selected months of the year. A very unique and enjoyable place to stay with a vast range of local & historical amenities at your disposal.
