The Tadpole bungalow is my favorite place I’ve stayed in ZA! Ruby is an absolute gem and her artsy, funky eco space is a magical slice of heaven I was lucky to experience, cute pets and all! I love the outdoors & camping so the outhouse and outdoor wash/shower area was a nice way to experience nature with the convenience of my own private space. Hike to Salt Point Cove (forest access from the property!) was lovely and Nature’s Valley is only a 20min drive away. HIGHLY recommend for an enchanting rustic getaway.

We had a wonderful stay and the hot tub was an absolute hit!! The open shower and toilet took some getting used to :). We loved the space and will def go back.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Kliphuis. We could switch off and relax from the moment we got there. The directions and self-checkin worked very well. The house had everything we needed, even an ice machine. As our host Jacques was not expecting any guests on the day of our departure, he offered that we could stay an extra night if we wanted to, and of course we did! It felt as if we were in the middle of nowhere, we did not see other people for our whole stay. Although the place is quite remote, its very safe and there is cellphone reception. The huge stoep with comfy coaches on wheels and one of them hanging, was such a highlight. We sat on the stoep almost the whole day enjoying nature, birdlife in/around the river below, and the amazing view of the starts at night. We were woken up by 4 owls on the stoep on our last morning, what a treat for birders. We were also fortunate that there was water in the river during a hot December.

Magical oasis in a beautiful setting. Everything is so well thought out. Beautiful interior decoration staying true to its aim of being sustainable. The bed is probably the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in away from home. Even the toiletries smelt amazing. The outdoor area is also spectacular. Best shower I’ve had under the stars. I would most definitely come back. Zelma also booked us in for dinner at Bread&co across the valley (2 mins away) and the food was amazing. Everything was superb and it’s been one of the most special stays I’ve had. Worth every penny!

If you are looking to disconnect with real life and connect with nature then this is the place to go! We had a lovely stay at River Lodge at Karoo Ridge Conservancy. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and considerate with providing a camping cot and feeding chair for our baby and a net over the pool. Everything you need is there. We also did some of the hikes from the River Lodge and went for a great game drive with sundowners. Our dogs enjoyed the space as well. With no cell reception and WIFI at the lodge (only available at the reception shop), this is exactly what we need d for our breakaway. We will definitely visit again.

A most nourishing experience, with the unfurling vast and varied mountainous landscape, to the silky smooth nutrient rich natural pool to immerse yourself in whilst watching the sun setting, followed by the outdoor fire to delve into conversations or simply star gaze, and then delight in the colourful display and immense flavours of the organic vegetables and fruit. The cottage appears to have been formed out of, and perfectly integrated with the natural surroundings. It offers all the comforts as well as quietude felt through its practical and creative simplicity. You feel completely at ease and peaceful here, as well as childlike wonder through the experience. The outdoor seating, hammock and pool invite you to fully relax and enjoy the expansive surroundings. The birds gift a morning symphony on sunrise and it’s wonderful to look upon and explore the orchids. I was welcomed to further enjoy the studio, offering a perfect space for a yoga and meditation practice. Immense Gratitude

We throughly enjoyed our time here! The views of the dam and mountains from every room in the house was incredible! It's definitely not as secluded as it looks in the pictures but on the upside you are a quick 5 min drive into Montagu town. Notes for yourself when packing: -only 1 small firelighter is provided unfortunately (there are many fire areas so make sure to bring extra!) -only instant coffee provided but there is a coffee machine & plunger but you unfortunately need to being your own. - no milk or water is unfortunately provided either other than those few negatives we had an amazing time overall and would definitely visit again! Host was easy to communicate with and provided a beautiful bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary here which was appreciated.

We had an exceptional stay at this property-one of those life experiences we were glad to had.The villa itself is incredibly beautiful and looked exactly what the images showed. Super nice, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We were lucky to spot a whale from the patio. Corné is a super-host with a flawless communication. Property’s caretaker Yoli is very helpful and kind. All good, and would definitely recommend staying here.

We had an amazing stay!! The cottage was even better than in the picture, the kitchen was super well-equipped and everything was tidy and clean. Lefras was kind enough to show us around and give us good recommendations of what to do. The surroundings are so beautiful and quiet, I would definitely come back. The perfect place for outdoors lovers!

We had a magical getaway at Cob Cottage. It really is one of the most remarkable places I've stayed in, with all the handcrafted touches and coloured glass. My kids loved the enchanting yellowwood forest, swimming hole in the stream and semi-outdoor shower – and the yummy pizzas from Soul Food, the onsite restaurant. We spent the evening singing camp songs at the fireplace, the perfect place for a digital detox before it's back to school. The cottage had everything we needed, and more – what with the fresh air and quality white linen, I enjoyed the best sleep I've had for a long while. Our host Elizabeth, friendly and super-helpful, shared fascinating stories about the trees and area. A truly lovely experience - we'll definitely be back!

This place was awesome. Definitely worth the drive. Louis was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The facilities were unique and the surrounding area was so beautiful, the best sunset I have seen in South Africa so far. Very friendly cat and dogs on property. Awesome kitchen set up and fire place to sit with friends. Only thing to say is if there are puddles on the dirt road to the property drive slowly directly through them, and you can even get through with a regular rental car. Or you can be like me and mess up and drive on the side of the puddle and get stuck in the mud (don’t be like me lol) thanks again for the help Louis!! Definitely would stay here again.

We had a very pleasant stay at Gabbi’s quaint little home. The best way to describe The Hugging Home is that it is good for the soul - quiet, peaceful, and a simpler way of living. Fantastic! Would absolutely recommend it!

We love the main house where the bedrooms are. It feels warm and welcoming, very comfortable and open to the outdoor areas. It was fun exploring the garden and the round mud huts. We enjoyed the walk that leads to the end where the mountains are.
