Glamping on the Isle of Coll

ClareRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We spent 3 fantastic days at the cosy well thought out farm pod. It was idyllic. Wonderful that there was no WiFi & no tv. We really enjoyed watching & listening to farm animals & wildlife from within the pod & from its decking. It was great to not use our car for 2 days & instead to walk out from the pod through countryside to several beautiful sandy beaches. We enjoyed a refreshing swim in crystal clear sea at a beach that’s about 10mins walk from the pod. We also loved sitting on a small grassy hillock watching seals bathing on low lying rocks in a small cove only a short walk from the pod. Thanks for such a wonderful experience.

Thatched Cottage Straw Bell

GrahamRating, 5 stars7 months ago
This is a really lovely, cosy traditional cottage with comfy beds etc but a properly traditional feel. Gerard greeted us with homemade scones and a lit fire (everyday!) and was more than happy to share tales and recommendations for the area. Grab a good book, your old walking boots and snuggle up for a lovely Donegal stay!

Stunning thatched property: Nanny Murphy's Cottage

JohnRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I can not say enough about my family’s visit with Michael at Nanny Murphy’s cottage! This was a special visit for me as I always wanted to stay in a thatched roof cottage like the ones my grandparents left behind when they immigrated about one hundred years ago to the United States. Certainly, upgraded from my grandparents’ cottages, Nanny Murphy’s cottage did not disappoint with a rustic theme blending the old with the new, in a peaceful rural setting. My family had several hearty meals around the table in front of a warm peat & wood fire and slept well after several full days of activities throughout the area. Michael is a terrific host who guided us to the farmer’s market in Carrick-on-Shannon, small pubs with local hospitality and great Irish music, The Shed distillery in Drumshanbo, a visit to Sligo and Yeats country, and a hike in Knocknarea, amongst visiting other sights. If you are seeking an experience of peaceful rural Irish life, Nanny Murphy’s cottage and Michael is the
