Earth house vacation rentals in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

We stayed with our two teenagers for 2 weeks in this spacious Alpine farmhouse steeped in history. House interior and furniture is really unique. The kitchen and the bathroom are simple, but all the comforts are there. It was nice to stay in the private garden with mountain views during the two sunny weeks. For sometimes a little cool evenings, we snuggled up with a book in front of the stove in the living room. It has a great 4G reception in the house despite the thick walls, at least when the local wildlife is not gnawing the cables;) Located at the bottom of the Ubaye Valley, Ise's house is an excellent base for a sporting holiday: beautiful hikes (Col de Martinet & Mary, Col de Longet, Lac St-Anne, Lac de Neuf Couleurs, etc.); white water activities on the Ubaye; several climbing walls in the valley, and a few via ferrata about 1 hour away (Ceillac, Freissinières ...). Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely wonderful month-long stay at this beautiful property! The location is truly exceptional - nestled in the heart of peaceful vineyards, it offers the perfect tranquil retreat from everyday life. The setting was ideal for our daily walks with our dog, with stunning countryside views and quiet paths right at our doorstep. The property features a lovely garden with plenty of shade, which was perfect for our little one to play safely. We appreciated being just a short drive from a larger town where we could easily do our shopping and errands. Our host was incredibly welcoming and pleasant throughout our entire stay. Everything about this experience exceeded our expectations - from the beautiful surroundings to the thoughtful amenities. We would absolutely love to return and would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a nice, quiet and peaceful vacation. Thank you so much for a memorable stay!

Everything was perfect, the contact with Pierre, the ease of arriving at a late hour, the cottage is very pleasant, clean, well-equipped. We quickly felt comfortable there. The rooms are comfortable (we enjoyed the beds made given the late arrival...! Thank you). We enjoyed the terrace, the view. The cottage is well located in relation to the lake of Serre-Ponçon, a beautiful hike (Chanteloube loop), swimming in the lake and a day at the Embrun festival... We got to know Pierre, a beautiful meeting. We can only recommend this cottage, it's a place we already want to come back to! Thank you very much.

We booked for a weekend with family and friends for our small wedding, the hosts recommended a great home chef. We had no difficulty talking to Raphaël who was able to make himself available even a little late in the evening. There are also several activities available (petanque ball, badminton net, balls, etc.) that make the stay more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place for relaxing weekends in the shade of plane trees and refreshing in the pool.

Fantastic place to feel connected to nature! We really recommend to have no plans there and just do nothing, swim in a pool, hike, get some sun. You won't regret it! Communication with the host was top notch! Jeff has a good English and is chatty. The house is built in a sustainable way which amazingly inspiring.

We had a wonderful stay in Damien's home. It is in a beautiful setting and a short walk into the town but very peaceful. The house is very comfortable with everything you need. This unique cliff house is full of character and has artistic detail in every room. Damien gave us great recommendations for restaurants, vineyards and local walks. Cotignac has a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops. There are also some good walks of varying difficulty from there and it is also a good base for exploring the area.

Very nice cottage in an exceptional setting. All the more pleasant as we were alone, without potential neighbors to the right and left of the cottage.

back to basics in earthen cottages, in the heart of an oak forest. Everything is conducive to calm and relaxation with a trampoline pool, petanque court, slide for children and adults. Edwige and Nicolas happily optimize this little slice of heaven. Thank you to them!

Charles's house is beautiful and very well maintained. Very responsive host who was quick to sort anything out and the check in was very flexible which was very much appreciated after a very long drive. The pool is great and was perfect for what we wanted and its actually bigger than it looks in the photos! It was very hot while we were there so the aircon was appreciated. Fontvielle is well placed for exploring Arles, Avignon, St Remy although it is a very quiet village itself.

Quiet villa away from neighbors. Beautiful setting with great views of the Maures Mountains. We will not forget the very nice pool with beautiful sunsets! Very well equipped house both inside and outside at least 3 terraces with many seating. We couldn't find any outdated equipment as we could see on some review and our 12-year-old son was able to have fun for 15 days with a ping pong table available. Very friendly, reachable and responsive hosts. We were able to get back into the house a few hours earlier thanks to them and we thank them for it. Anyway… we had a wonderful stay.

Beautiful sheepfold in a beautiful location. Too bad we came on the weekend of the Bien l'Bourgeon festival because we were looking for absolute calm, which was a little disturbed by this crowd! The house is a little dark on the ground floor but bathed in light in the living room and floors. And has a peaceful garden. Wheelchair not recommended.

Beautiful property and felt right at home! Florence was very responsive to all messages and gave great recommendations. Wonderful place to experience the beauty of Provence. Close to surrounding towns just a 20 min drive to mostly everything!

The apartment is amazing, it's a timeless trip, the common area is a very soothing haven of peace and tranquility, we will go back to test the other 4 accommodations! The location is amazing, felt free and like being alone in the forest but the closest supermarket was less then a 10 minute walk away and it was around 20 minutes to the city center. The location is breathtaking and relaxing

Xavier’s place is out of this world. A lifetime work of 20+ years welcomes you into a dreamy world made by pieces from moroccan outdoor lamps to renaissance huge paintings and from plants blossoming from walls to a long pool you can swim and stare around the ensemble. It felt bad that our itinerary was packed with activities and we didnt spend more time here, but will be coming back. Xavier is an amazing person, felt like I have known him already somehow. Cant recommend it enough, the stay was inspirational to be more creative, more present, more dreamful. Merci Xavier, à bientôt :)

We really enjoyed our stay! The room is spacious, there is a lovely pool, and the host is so nice. Location is perfect for visiting villages in the region and doing hikes in the nearby regional park as well. The dry toilet was a new experience, and cleaning it at the end might be a challenge for some guests, but it was really interesting to test out a different system like that while in the eco-gite.
