Earth house vacation rentals in Province of Matera

Francesco's Sassi is really very spacious and beautiful! The view right outside your own door is fantastic. It is a bit complicated to get to the Sassi with a lot of luggage, especially if you arrive after 8 pm and there is no bus from the recommended parking lot. We then walked about half an hour with the luggage. The parking lot Via Saragat itself was super relaxed. We paid 6.50 for a day and 3 hours. We were able to go back by bus for 1.50 directly to the parking lot. We didn't arrive until around 10 pm and Francesco patiently waited for us. The communication was very quick and reliable. I can absolutely recommend it if you are in Matera and want something special.

The flat was beautiful, comfortable and in a perfect location. Importantly, it stayed nice and cool during the hottest hours of the day. Each morning a breakfast basket arrived at 8:30 full of croissants and breads which was a lovely touch. It was also cleaned everyday like a hotel. There is a lovely small shared outdoor space which features heavily in the photos on the listing, but we didn’t feel overly comfortable using this as we didn’t want to intrude on our neighbours. Overall we would definitely recommend this place, and would be more than happy to stay here again!

Chiara’s airbnb is the perfect place to stay at when exploring Matera! A beautiful and quiet « cave home », in the heart of Matera. Chiara was very responsive and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and activities. We highly recommend her place. The best way to describe this property is “We did not want to leave”. Everything was outstanding. From the communication, check in and instructions. The interior of the property was spacious and beautiful. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we got a great nights sleep. The amenities were awesome and the extras went above and beyond expectations. Coffee, snacks, and breakfast were amazing. We cannot say enough about the views from outside the property. We were sad to leave and will definitely stay here again if our travels take us here. Matera is Magical.
