Dante was very welcoming. The house is very spacious, cozy, and equipped with everything you need. Great view from the house.

Paolo’s apartment is modern and comfortable. It’s obvious that much care went into its renovation. Check-in and out was easy with a lockbox and Paolo was very responsive. The location makes it an easy walk to all of the sights and the train station I would recommend it to anyone visiting Lucca.

You immediately feel at home in the cozy cottage in the middle of a garden with roses, rosemary, fruit and olive trees. The bell tower has provided a characteristic view for centuries. Giovanna and Antonio are very warm and give nice tips about the fantastic Tuscan surroundings (hiking trails, villages, beach, restaurant,...). They spoil you with their own olive oil, limoncello, freshly picked fruits and wine and let you go your own way. The walled city of Lucca is a 10-minute drive away and can be visited both by bike and on foot. In this somewhat smaller city, you'll have the Duomo almost to yourself. Pistoia, Pisa, Florence, all an hour's drive, are very worth the trip but it is wonderful to return to the quiet Upupa cottage every night after these busy cities. We, 2 sisters, stayed there at the beginning of November and were able to lend a hand in the garden with the olive pick. Our vacation was all over. Grazie mille, Luki&Niko

Clear and switable. Mark is a very hospitable guy. Beautiful surrounding nature. If you want to feel Italian soul and stile this is a prompt place.

Very clean and well-furnished place. We didn't miss anything and we immediately felt at home. Somewhat secluded but very quiet and still quick to Lucca by car. Thanks to co-host Ingrid for the professional and nice check-in/out. We'd love to come back 😀

I came with my family. We were surprised when we arrived: the place was the same and also better than we expected. Check-in was very simple thanks to Chiara's assistance. Always attentive to any need and proactive to make our stay the best, she even gave us some recommendations. We definitely want to go back to Lucca because of the beautiful city and also return to this accommodation. Thanks for everything Chiara, see you next time!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Casa Doramartina. It was very special to stay in this historic building in such a beautifully appointed, elegant and comfortable apartment. A lot of thought and care has gone into fitting out the apartment - from the helpful meeting as we arrived to explain how keys etc worked to the gifts of fresh water and Tuscan treats, so we felt very welcome indeed. The location in the centro storico of Lucca couldn't be handier - the perfect place from which to explore this beautiful, historic city. Also very handy for Pinelli pasticceria, round the corner, with its delectable pastries!

We very much enjoyed our stay in Monika’s apartment. It is situated in a quiet, residential street, around ten minute’s walk from the old town - a perfect location to explore Lucca and the surrounding area. The apartment is a home from home and is extremely well equipped. The bedroom has air conditioning and there’s a fan in the living room which kept us comfortable. Monika communicated well, and was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would highly recommend.

We only stayed 2 nights at Laura’s apartment in Lucca. It looked just like the photos. Communication was good, as were the nearby restaurants. We had a wonderful time and would recommend

Wow! What a find! Serena checked us in to this perfect little oasis in Lucca. So MANY extra little touches like great snacks and drinks available, bikes to ride, and sweetly tied linens in a ribbon. Serena was very communicative and gave clear directions about where to leave our car and what to look for in restaurants. Such a perfect spot and very reasonably priced. Ciao!

Nice apartment with a great location in a quiet and safe housing complex with private parking in the basement. The apartment is within the city walls, so there is a short walking distance to restaurants, supermarkets and attractions. Super good and helpful host who responded immediately and who did everything to make sure we had a great stay!

This is a gem in the heart of Lucca. The apartment is super comfortable and has excellent views of rooftops and towers. The location is excellent closed to all worthy sites in Lucca yet very quiet and peaceful. The building has a great elevator which is a big plus given the top floor location. Salvatore is a great host, very responsive, and accommodating. I would love to return to Salvatore’s place for a longer stay sometime in the future.

Elena’s apartment was even better than the photos! Even the teenagers were impressed! The location could not be better. We could walk to everything. We had such a great stay in Lucca and would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful experience! The house was tastefully furnished and clean, well-stocked with guides and tourist maps of Lucca. It was also equipped with everything you need for your stay: dishes, pans, kitchen utensils, etc. The location was perfect, within walking distance of the Basilica of San Frediano and Via Fillungo, Lucca's main shopping street. But what excited us was the hospitality of the host. Pier Giordano was very kind and helpful; passionate about his city, he recommended places of interest that are also little known by most and typical places to eat Lucchese and Tuscan cuisine. Thanks again! We hope to return to Lucca soon!

We have stayed at this apartment before and loved it that’s why we returned. It’s central, has everything we needed. It’s a great base for the bus and train station. There is also a supermarket not far from the flat to buy essentials for a lovely picnic on the wall of Lucca. Mauro was kind enough to be flexible with our check in and check out time. Another lovely holiday here. We look forward to visiting again.

Great location in a charming city. The apartment was on a quiet street but were minutes from all the local sites, restaurants and shopping. The place had everything we needed. There was plenty of room for our 5 guests. Check-in was easy and communication with the host was responsive.

Margherita is an excellent host. Prior to our visit she was able to send me a list of recommendations for a large variety of restaurants and activities and she answered all my questions. She met us at the door and welcomed us into her home. The apartment itself was fully equipped with everything we needed and very comfortable for our family. Lucca itself was stunning.

A comfortable, clean apartment within easy walking distance from the walled city center. We especially appreciated the reserved parking space and the comfortable bed in a room with blackout curtains. We slept very well. There is plenty of space in which to put your belongings and Stefania provided many things that we might need. If we return to Lucca, we will stay there again.
