House vacation rentals in Northern California

Our second stay, and just as wonderful as last time. The views are unbeatable, and the ability to walk to the lodge is an amazing benefit (I loved being able to grab a coffee there in the morning, or knowing I could have a few drinks and walk home!). Beds were comfy. To note, the blinds in the rooms aren’t blackout so the mornings are bright — but ideally you’re up then anyways to enjoy the gorgeous views!

We love this place so much that we came back for a second time. Peaceful home. Kid and dog friendly. Spent our days at tide pools and hiking through redwoods. Cant beat the location.

We had such a perfect stay at Maja’s home! The view is incredible, and the various decorations around the place give it a very cozy vibe. There’s plenty of space and things to do that we never felt bored. On top of this, Maja is very kind and clearly communicated everything our group needed to know. Definitely hoping to return here someday!

This was our third trip to The Ranch House and it never disappoints. Rather, Stephanie has updated several areas that made our experience, this time with a baby, that much better. The updated shower was a big hit with my wife. The water stays hot and the removable shower head makes for a comfortable experience. The bedroom, more spacious now, retained that cozy feeling with a little more room to put up the Pack-'n-Play (very convenient that they have one) so our baby could sleep comfortably at the foot of the bed. The bedding is soft, comfortable and we slept well every night. Personally, I enjoyed the Nespresso and other coffee options and some additions in the kitchen that assisted with dinner prep. Finally, this was our first trip during the summer (early June) and the weather was fabulous. With it being a little warmer, there's plenty of trails that provide shade throughout. What an amazing stay for our family, we can't wait to return!

Came back for a second stay, and was as wonderful and peaceful as we remembered it to be. The home is an incredible retreat - great views, and everything we needed for a relaxing two days away from the city. Appliances are top notch, and everything is thoughtfully laid out. Carolyn is a very thoughtful host, and quickly answered questions we had. Would recommend this home for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, and we would love to be back again in the future!

We spent a long weekend at Anastassia’s Gray Fox Dacha and it was exceptional. Definitely one of the best Air BnB’s we’ve stayed in. Everything was impeccable with thoughtful touches, and the views from the living room were gorgeous. Would absolutely stay at one of her properties in the future.

Natalie's home is the absolute perfect place to stay in Bodega Bay. It's close to local restaurants, trails and the Lodge at Bodega if the spa, pool or dinner at Drakes is on your agenda! My husband and I both agree she truly has the best property in town, offering amazing views, close access to the beach and this location is easily commutable for day trips to Russian River Valley vineyards/wineries. As a plus, she provides a book on property that includes restaurant menus, top attractions in the area and every instruction you may need as it relates to the property. Kitchen is well stocked for those wanting to source their own fish at the local fish market and enjoy a meal at home. Our time here was magical!

Really enjoyed the location and the enclosed patio so we could sit outside and enjoy the ocean view keeping out of the wind. Lots of things to do in the area if you like hiking and exploring.

Excellent host, simple and clean property. Beautiful decor. Open floor plan and an updated kitchen with Bosch Stove, Smeg Fridge and Breville coffee maker. Outdoor Sauna was a great way to start the day. Very peaceful. Bed was very comfortable with simple and soft white linens. Bathroom was very clean and nicely designed. Space felt new and fresh. The property was very thought out and family friendly with perfect amenities.

What a beautiful home. The location is everything! We had the best anniversary getaway and hope to return. Listening to the ocean was so relaxing. The home was better than described and exceeded our expectations. The hot tub overlooking the ocean was amazing! Everything was clean and the home was welcoming. Was looking for a peaceful getaway to recharge and spend time with our furry friend. Tod’s place is a literal treehouse, but with modern amenities, and did not disappoint. Tod was very helpful in making sure we understood how some of the systems of the house worked upon our arrival. This place makes a great base of operations for the numerous outdoor activities surrounding the area. Will definitely be back!

Mary’s spot in Big Sur is absolutely amazing! There is something magical about Big Sur, and Mary manages to capture and harness that energy in her space- beautifully decorated, but also perfectly functional- from the well equipped kitchen to the hot tub, wood stove, and sleeping arrangements- no detail is overlooked. I look forward to returning whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Just like the photos - really peaceful and quiet area and beautiful surroundings. Comfy bed and we had all we needed for our stay. Coffee and tea a really nice touch for the mornings and evenings.

This coastal home was truly magical—perched right by the ocean with stunning views of the sunset and night sky. The house itself is beautifully designed, with so much love and care evident in every detail. It felt warm, peaceful, and thoughtfully put together. Ted was a fantastic host—very responsive and proactive, even informing us about a PG&E power outage that we didn’t even feel thanks to the battery backup. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a serene and unforgettable stay.

This home is an absolute treasure, and the owner is lovely to deal with. She really has made a magical place and we enjoyed it so much. The pool, river views and sauna were the highlight. But the place was unique and gorgeous.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, very comfortable, with a great view, wood burning fireplace we were allowed to use, comfortable beds, and a hot tub. The kitchen was extremely well appointed with everything we needed to fix meals, including a comprehensive spice rack.

Our stay was wonderful. Our two girls especially did not want to leave. Everything was so comfortable and clean, we loved the toys and books, and the projector set up. The architecture and remodeling was beautiful. Appreciate the lack of tacky artwork on the walls. Tracie and Dave were such generous hosts. Hope to be back, thank you!

We came down from McKinleyville to enjoy a weekend at the river! This place was a perfect home away from home for us. Clean, easy to find and had everything we could possibly need. We enjoyed the sauna, walk in the meadow, BBQ on the deck and played board games and pool. The home was spacious and comfortable.

Wow! I would live here if I could. 5+++ stars. What a beautiful home in a beautiful place. 100% worth the drive. We loved the comfy beds, gorgeous furnishings, and well stocked kitchen. And the views were stunning. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, watching the hummingbirds, and listening to the sea lions down on the shore. It was the perfect restful retreat for our family of 5.

Very peaceful, grounds were full of birds, flowers and variety of plants. Huge lot with trails to walk around and explore. Georgeous views from the back deck and comfortable seating. Kitchen was really nice as well. I could spend hours in the yard just watching the birds. Definately follow host's instructions and keep your dog on leash as there was a family of deer on the property through our entire stay and they are easily spooked. So not a property to let your dog run free, which was fine as host was very clear in her post about that. But the huge porch has a doggie door so our dog enjoyed sitting on the back porch with us. Beds were nice and comfortable. I will definately consider staying there again.
