Windmill vacation rentals in Western Europe

We loved our stay at the Windmill. When we arrived both Mary and Madgalina greeted us, walking through all the amenities and property, then sat with us providing maps and great recommendations. The property is so peaceful with beautiful views of the sea and town below. We loved relaxing and enjoying. The fridge was fully stocked. Complimentary wine, water, juice, coffee, milk, local cheeses, meats, tomatoes, melon, oranges, jams, honey, pastries, bread,. We were able to make breakfast and pack a cooler to take to the beach for light lunch. We walked around Ano syros enjoying drinks and a great dinner. They also helped us secure a car rental which was brought up to the windmill for us. So helpful. Waking up in the windmill with fresh breezes and a window looking out to the sea was so charming and delightful. This was such a unique and incredible stay for us on our two week trip. Syros is a great locals island and staying at the windmill brough us such happiness

We had a magical stay at this beautifully converted windmill (Green) in Santorini. From the moment we booked, our host was incredibly responsive and helpful—organising transfers, offering local recommendations, and making sure we had everything we needed. The windmill itself is like something out of a storybook. With its curved kitchen, winding staircases, and thoughtful artistic touches, it felt both whimsical and welcoming. Every detail made us feel right at home. The shaded outdoor seating area and the pool were perfect retreats from the midday sun—ideal spots to relax and recharge. While the nearby road can be a bit busy, the thick shutters did a great job of blocking out light and noise, allowing us to sleep deeply in the very comfortable beds. Having a car is a must if you want to explore the island, as you’d otherwise be quite isolated. But for those looking for peace, charm, and a unique place to stay, this windmill is a truly special find.

Geweldige midweek gehad met onze zoon van een half jaar! Helaas was het weer wat minder, maar dat mocht de pret niet drukken. Zowel in de molen als in de omgeving is er ook meer dan genoeg te doen. We komen zeker nog weer eens terug als de kleine groter is!

We had a wonderful stay! The place is quiet, cozy, and beautifully kept — perfect for relaxing after a long day. I was warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. The hosts were incredibly kind and thoughtful, offering delicious homemade treats that made my stay even more special. Everything was clean, comfortable, and just as described. I would definitely love to come back!

The traditional windmill was my best experience on Airbnb. The windmill is in an amazing location with a 360 degrees view over Paros island - you almost feel alone on the island ! This is a Perfect location to visit the island. The windmill is just above Lefkes village which is so nice and preserved. The outdoor kitchen is very useful and nice. Everything was very clean !

One of the best holidays 4 of us have had and this was a big part of it. Massive thank you to Alex and Akis who run the place and made the holiday better. Property was so clean and we got a daily clean of the apartment with sheets and towels which we didn’t expect. Pool area is amazing with unreal scenery and so clean with a great restaurant area to match where you can get really affordable food and drinks made to order. Every place we need to go to was a short drive away. Can’t recommended this place enough and thanks for the memories. Will be going back for sure!

We spent four days in this beautifully converted windmill right by the port of Praia. The village center, the beach and the supermarket are only a short walk away. The port installations with their industrial charm spoil the otherwise beautiful location a bit, but it‘s quiet regardless. The views of the mountains are fantastic, as is the experience of living in an old windmill. The kitchenette is small and not the most practical, but caters to basic needs. Capsule coffee maker, microwave and oven are provided. The beds in both bedrooms were super comfy. It can get cool, but there are electric radiators in both bedrooms. The living room (a few easily manageable stairs) feels a bit like a museum with old appliances around. A narrow spiral staircase (odd angle) leads to the top bedroom, the highlight of the windmill! The terrace is great, but lounge chairs and a proper table would have been welcome. João is a great host, very helpful and always available. We loved our stay!

What a remarkable place to stay! We have for a long time wanted to stay in an old windmill and staying in Annettes beautiful house truly met our expectations. We can only recommend this.

The windmill is stunning, especially the views from the top. It had everything we wanted and Natalie was the perfect host.

The location and the views cannot be beat. To see the sun dip into the ocean from the hot tub was blissful. We did nothing but hang out in the tub everyday for sunset and then walked around for dinner. Would love to visit again. Jason, the manager, is great. He carried our bags in and made us breakfast everyday. He gave us great recommendation and helped us plan our stay. I recommend reaching out to them before planning your time in Santorini. Will recommend this place to friends and family and would love to visit again!

Nous avons passé un excellent moment au moulin de Bel air. Nous nous sommes vite sentis très bien, les espaces sont grands et les possibilités sont nombreuses. La table de tennis de table est un vrai plus. Estelle est une hôtesse adorable et très arrangeante. Elle a pris du temps pour nous raconter l'histoire du moulin en organisant une visite au sommet de la tour. Très intéressant ! Merci

Absolutely beautiful location. The home was unique and comfortable but we spent most of our time enjoying the outdoor space. There were others on the property but each rental felt private and the views are unmatched! Good parking area which allowed us to have a rental car so we could day trip to other villages. Close to Tinos town and supermarket which gave us options at mealtime. There was also a super friendly cat who visited frequently 🥰 100% would stay here again

This is one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. The mill tower is a pleasure to be in. There are a few similar old mills dotted around the countryside, some derelict, and I’m really pleased this has been sensitively restored. We were looking for a quiet, warm place for a ‘baby moon’; this was ideal. Hire bikes and explore the area, the paths around are lovely. We enjoyed taking things slower here. You will probably need a car here, there didn’t seem to be public transport. But, you’re very close to Bergerac - we flew here direct and got an easy car. Wish I was still sitting outside the mills as I write this. Great wine and food all nearby.

Abbiamo passato 5 giorni stupendi nel mulino di Christos, arredato con cura ed eleganza nonostante i piccoli spazi. Il mulino è unico come posizione, ottimo per rilassarsi e godere di una vista mozzafiato, fuori dal casino del centro, ma allo stesso tempo a 5 minuti dai ristoranti e dalle più belle spiagge. L’host è stato molto gentile e premuroso. Spero di tornarci!

My Husband and I stayed in the Windmill for our honeymoon and it was absolutely magical. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. the home itself is super well equipped with everything you need. It is decorated so lovely, makes you feel right at home. Michel who greeted us at check in was lovely and very informative. Julie was also extremely polite to communicate with. Notre séjour au Moulin MOBY a été fabuleux ! Le cadre était parfait et loin de tout stress. En plus du moulin très cosy dans lequel nous avons dormi, la dépendance dans laquelle nous avons pu passer de belles soirées et profiter pour nous faire de bons plats était superbe ! La cuisine est magnifique et le jardin est très bien soigné. De plus, le logement est proche de villes superbes comme Óbidos et Peniche. Nous recommandons vivement cette expérience originale !

Die Mühle ist in der Nähe von Kefalos in einer ruhigen Gegend. Ein Mietauto ist von Vorteil, somit kann man schnell schöne Strände erreichen. Der von Dietmar empfohlene Strand (Magic Beach) hat auch uns am besten gefallen. Die Einrichtung war geschmackvoll, es war alles da was wir brauchten. Es gab auch einen Geschirrspüler. Wir haben es genossen auf der großen Terasse zu Frühstücken.

An amazing home. The photos don’t do it justice. So peaceful but close to activities and places of interest. Large enough to find your own space but small enough for the group to all get together easily ie mealtimes. Clean linen and towels. On arrival you just go out the back and see the amazing views looking west over the fields. Spacious accommodation all well presented and maintained. Well appointed facilities everything there from full kitchen to outdoor furniture including barbecue, which was ready to use. Any queries dealt with by hosts very quickly without any fuss. It is an absolutely brilliant holiday home for staying home and enjoying the facilities or heading out to explore the surrounding villages and towns, and French culture. Could not want more. Lovely touches of tea, biscuits and wine on arrival, plus shower gel and bath salts. It will be hard to find an equally good house and hosts. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

A fantastic property with an amazing view. James and his family were very welcoming and helpful. The private outside space was great, the hot tub and bbq allowed for a very chilled weekend away. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent stay in a characterful building with well equipped if slightly cramped kitchen. Triin was prompt to respond to any questions or issues. I feel that it would be helpful to mention in the description that the toilet was a non-flush, dry, compostable variety. Although this was not a problem for our group, some guests might be slightly unhappy with this arrangement. Sauna and barbecue were very welcome.

Georgios, der Gastgeber ist ein sehr netter und freundlicher Mensch. Er war immer erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Mein Aufenthalt in Drapania war wirklich sehr gut. Die Villa ist sehr sauber, ordentlich und gepflegt. Die Unterkunft ist sehr empfehlenswert.

Die Mühle ist etwas ganz besonderes und sehr zu empfehlen! Wir haben uns total wohl gefühlt, hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt auf Öland und haben dank Emils Tipps tolle Ausflüge unternommen.

Indigo Windmill delivered exactly what we’d hoped for - a beautiful location with great outdoor space to relax in. The outdoor kitchen and hot tub are real highlights!
