Yurt vacation rentals in Western Europe

Had an amazing experience at Twisted Twig Yurt! We stayed in February and the snowy location and quiet surroundings were perfect. We stayed warm with the wood stove and wood provided. Clean and had everything we needed and lots of small touches that showed forethought about our experience. Easy drive into Bayfield, shopping and great lunch at Many Penny. Experienced the Chequamegon Bay ice caves and Mt Ashwabay cross country skiing what a great experience with our cozy home base at the Yurt.

Had a blast at staying in the yurt! My 2 year old daughter loved the golf cart and all the animals.

We are very thankful for a very memorable stay in Ms Rosa's beautifully built and appointed yurt.

Beautiful spot to relax, reconnect and leave refreshed! We enjoyed everything about our stay, especially the sauna, living pool, and hike to the yurt! We would love to return, thank you for sharing such a peaceful place with us, it was exactly what we needed.

Highly recommend this sweet little farm in a peaceful village. We loved the sheep and lambs and even got to watch a little one be born! Instructions on yurt temperature management, wood stove and wood fired hot tub were clear and easy. We borrowed bikes and rode through the tulip fields to the beach. Such a nice family and surroundings after the bustle of Amsterdam!

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. The farm tour with Madi was excellent, truly a must do! The yurt was cozy with a short walk to the pool and hot tub. It felt like a private retreat. We had some big rain storms while there, but inside was dry and comforting. Will absolutley be back!

I sort of selfishly don't want to write this because I feel I found a secret gem in this place but they deserve your business so: FABULOUS in every way! Sheila and her crew are pro-level. I felt totally comfortable from the moment I booked until the moment I left. It is a magical space and they are lovely, lovely people. They were available, helpful and friendly but also gave us our space. It was a COLD, rainy May weekend but so unbelievable cozy and we still effortlessly had the best time. I am having trouble imagining a season that would not be perfect here. Would go back, 100%.

We loved our stay in the yurt. It was a beautiful space inside and a very private location. Appreciated the detailed directions for how to find it as the road in is easy to miss. Temperature management and hot water were great, better than expected. Would love to come back!

What an amazing place to stay at. So very cool and unique. The hosts were so quick to respond and really made my wife’s birthday so special. They had cake , balloons, a sign , and flowers. Totally worth every penny to stay here. Loved it and would highly recommend.

The yurt was once in a life time experience all must have. It was nice cozy and warm the entire time. The view from the mountains and surroundings was beautiful. We drove around quiet a few farms and found a lot of healthy products. The host was wonderful, she went above and beyond, very accommodating. Helped us with any questions we had, guided us step by step making sure my family was safe and enjoyed their stay. We will surely be back for more adventure.

Had a wonderful and rejuvenating weekend away from the city in mid May. Having relocated from Northern Ontario to Toronto I need a regular escape to nature and this fit the bill nicely with its privacy and the peaceful setting of cedar trees next to the charming shallow river. Water was a bit chilly in the spring but I enjoyed a daily dip in the river (although wear water shoes in case of fish hooks as apparently it’s a fly fishing spot). Saw a belted kingfisher catching fish, a great blue heron, a deer and the usual suspects, all by the river. Lovely outside fireplace with supplied firewood, good for cooking over if you’re so inclined. Jill was lovely with good communication, flexibility and recommendations. No shortage of things to do nearby as well. And the yurt itself was very cool, quite spacious and easy to get to a comfortable temp if it’s chilly out. Highly recommended if, like me, you need some solace from the urban sprawl of Southern Ontario.

Let me just save you the trouble: Book the yurt. You’ll get a unique, beautiful, private place to relax AND an amazing host who is as available and responsive as you need or don’t need her to be. I only was able to book 2 nights and I wish I could have booked 20. This was a much needed solo trip for me and I just wanted to unwind in a quiet, beautiful place that was still within driving distance to any conveniences I may need. And though I was trying to disconnect, I needed the ability to have stable internet if I needed to respond to any work emergencies. My time spent on the property and in the yurt checked all of the boxes and more. The attention to detail and the pride in ownership is evident wherever you go on the property. I loved the trails. I loved the record player. I loved taking a nap on the deck. I loved hot tub under the stars. This is a place you’ll want to keep secret to yourself - but I’m thankful to Chantal and her family for sharing it with the world.

This was a beautiful, relaxing, and perfectly located spot! The yurt was spacious, clean, and well set up with a small living area, two cushy chairs and comfortable bed. The lighting situation inside was lovely with soft lights everywhere to find your ideal set up! The front porch had its own natural light show with fireflies at dusk. There is a wooden walk bridge to the shower and the composting toilet. Overall- simply lovely and incredibly relaxing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights at the yurt. Couldn’t have asked for a more friendly and accommodating host, Donna met us on arrival and gave a great run through all the amenities of the yurt. We were extremely lucky with the weather, which really brought to life the tranquil scenery we were surrounded by! If you’re from the city and fancy and a quiet retreat, this is a must book! Toilet was extremely clean, so don’t be turned off by the compost toilet! However, any hay fever suffers make sure to pack your tablets! Thanks Donna!

Our hosts were great and the cabin and the land were spectacular. So isolated and restful. We look forward to returning in a different season.

If you are with a friend or with your kids and looking to check out from the daily grind, this is the place to be! It was peaceful. My kids (7&9) loved being able to hear the night life (owl and coyotes) and all the beautiful hikes near by.

Hard to put into words how wonderful our stay was. Such a cozy, eclectic & unique experience. The sauna & outdoor shower created a mini Nordic spa experience. The beach was beautiful to stroll with our dog who loved the sandbars. The yurt had a fully stocked kitchen & the lemon berry cheesecake was divine! We will definitely be back. Our stay at the red yurt was delightful. The photos on the webpage presented an accurate image. Our hosts, Jeff and Jane, were like old friends in no time. Breakfast was delivered each morning at a time of our choosing. Jeff also makes a stone fired pizza for all guests. It was delicious! Jane kindly baked a surprise birthday cake for me and left fresh muffins in our yurt each day—also delicious. The bed was very comfortable and a small electric fireplace kept the space cozy. For people not used to camping I will point out that the yurt is a bit removed from the main bathroom so you have to walk up a slight incline on a grassy path to the bathroom with the shower. There is however a small bathroom on your deck for use at night. Both bathrooms are yours alone. The area has many trails and great places to eat. It is an easy drive to other towns on the peninsula. We would happily recommend a yurtopia yurt stay to anyone looking for a very unique experience. Thanks for everything.

To find a yurt in Wisconsin that’s not on the campground is a gem. This was not my first time, but was my fiancé‘s first time in a year and the experience couldn’t have been more delightful. As many other reviewers have noted Dan is a kind and welcoming host. His property fits those that are not looking for a five star hotel they’re looking for cozy/comfort just above backpacking experience to knowing that you won’t get rained on and you have a clean commode with toilet paper and a lovely beautiful warm outside shower. You don’t need much more to find joy. Our English cocker spaniel had a smile on her face the entire time Paisley smelt every blade of grass and wanted nothing more than to chase the neighbors horses and sheep, but of course we were respectful and let her look out the car window as we slowly drove by. Jamie’s place was amazing. Much more than expected. Beautiful yurt that is surprisingly roomy. Great amenities and super clean. We truly enjoyed hiking for hours through the expansive property with clear cut trails. Our dogs enjoyed the quiet countryside and long walks through the forest. Be sure to check out the shale creek with a waterfall and 200 foot cliffs! Quiet mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee were perfect. The yurt has everything you’ll need for a great time, ac was great and having a kitchen made dinners easy. I wouldn’t hesitate to return for another stay. Thank you!!!

Great lil cozy place to get away from the city! Really enjoyed the farm, especially the livestock grazing around. Bed was cozy, place was clean, outside kitchen was very scenic. Was very refreshing!

This was the first time we’ve ever rented a yurt. We would definitely go back to see Shari. She did not miss a beat. It was everything that we needed right there. Even bathrobes. I highly recommend going to stay here. We will definitely be back. If I could give 100 stars I would.
