Vacation rentals with lake access in Western Europe

We have been going to Roxie Point for years, and we enjoy our stay thoroughly every time. We'll keep going back to spend some time in nature, enjoying the lake and generally relaxing. We look forward to the next time. :)

This was our second visit to this home. We celebrated our anniversary last fall and returned last week with our kids and pup. We loved getting to share this place that we've come to love so much! The furniture is extremely comfortable, there is a ton of space to put away your things (including groceries!), and the surroundings are gorgeous. Our very favorite place is the large covered patio. If you're looking for a peaceful escape that's great for a couple or a small family, you have found it. We will be back soon.

We had a great time. The house was the perfect size for us. The view of the lake was very beautiful. Sandy was amazing to work with and answered all of our questions about the area and places to eat.

Very nice place to chill and enjoy the peacefulness by the water. Charlene was super responsive to any questions and super quick with her reply. Place was immaculate in cleanliness as well as the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit as well as sitting out watching the boats go by out of the big lake. This was a great place to celebrate my MIL’s 60th birthday. It was in a quiet, family friendly area. The house is exactly what we needed!

Cathy was an exceptional host! The accommodations were so beautiful, so much love and hard work put in to making it a cozy place to stay. Bed was huge and comfy. Cinnamon buns were delicious. Hot tub was relaxing and private. We want to come back and try one of her other suites.

This place is amazing! The quiet nights on the patio, or walking down to the lake to enjoy the lights in the castle with evening setting on Lake Como were so wonderfully relaxing. I would recommend to anyone wanting to escape the insanity of Varenna. Other pluses. Town parking pass for Dervio. Amazing breakfast waiting for the ferry there, full kitchen for spectacular sunset meals with the best view of the lake!

This is a darling location! The furnishings were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with condiments, spices and great cooking utensils and pots and pans. The hot tub was clean and used both the nights we were there. Both Mike and Elle's suggestions about area activities was very helpful. The marina across the street has great service for rentals. Oh, did I mention the delicious coffee cake, snacks and OJ left for our enjoyment? It was a truly one of our favorite places to stay!

It was perfect thanks to the friendly Maria and the wonderful house. However, you should always check the bus number 21's dispatch time.

My husband and I came down for a desperately needed break from our crazy lives. The apartment was just perfect. Clean and well appointed, they thought of everything. There are loads of places to plug in your devices, a nice wardrobe to put your clothes in, and even books to read. We will be back for sure to soak up some more of the stunning view.

We stayed at Casa Lucia for 3 nights and we had a great time while we were there. Claudia and Aldo were very responsive, friendly and had fantastic recomendaciones. Chef Aldo cooked dinner for us on our second night and it was an unforgettable meal! Our sons (16 & 18 y/o) had plenty of time on the lagoon and got to use the kayak and paddle boards! We didn’t take advantage of the pool because we spent the majority of the time on the lagoon and exploring Bacalar. The property is clean and just so beautiful. It is the most perfect location! Casa Bacalar is a quick 15 mins away from the center. We had brunch in the center and dinner at different spots. The hotel next door is less than a 3 min walk and had great options for food. We would definitely stay at Casa Lucia again! Thank you Claudia and Aldo for hosting us! 🤍

Gorgeous location. The private dock and patio make for a peaceful getaway. Highly recommend over any hotels. The photos are not too good to be true - it really is that pretty. The host was responsive and helpful. You must read the book they provide, it’s very descriptive and especially important to figure out how to get to their place. It’s not that hard - but if it’s your first time at this lake then you’ll definitely need the guidance the book gives.

We had a peaceful and relaxing good time at Miya's cottage. It was a clean and organized place. The views of the lake were awesome. You could see the big laker ships in the distance going in and out of the canal system. We spent most of the time in the water since there was a heat wave at the time. I would recommend this cottage. We will hopefully be back in the future.

The lake cabin is the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed, and had we had the option, we would have extended our stay. The location is stunning, and the house has everything you need: a chef’s kitchen, spacious living room, three bathrooms, and ample outdoor area to relax. The mini Mercado is a 7 minute walk away and we were 3 minutes from the hiking circuit around Sete cidades, which is well worth it if you don’t mind some uphill. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was a bit of noise from the warming and cooling windows (might wake a late riser). We would absolutely return.

Nice Place. Tough and difficult for travelers to haul luggage across a long lawn without a walkway- but the cottage and location makes up for it.

My husband and I stayed at Kevin’s place for a couple days in early June for a quick city getaway. Kevin was super responsive from the beginning all the way to check out and was a pleasure to communicate with! He is a fascinating well-travelled host with lots of cool souvenirs around the cabin from his travels and sports accomplishments. His place was very relaxing and was exactly what we were looking for with its lake front access and cosy interior. We travel for work and are constantly staying in nice hotels, and we had the most amazing sleeps in the memory foam bed with sheepskin duvet and agreed it was better than any hotel sleep we had recently. So peaceful! We canoed to a Mexican restaurant across the river for lunch which was a fun mini adventure and very delicious! When we checked out we got to meet Bodie, Kevins Golden Retriever that is in the listing photos. Was an awesome experience! We look forward to returning sometime back to Kevin’s Cabin!

Pretty Bird Cottage was a magical place to spend a quiet few days unplugged with family. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. It’s pretty secluded, so we planned groceries on the way there rather than venturing out for most meals. Also, cell service is spotty so be sure to keep the door code instructions somewhere you can access them offline. It was a wonderful vacation!

We had a very peaceful, relaxing stay! The hosts and manager were very friendly, helpful, and proactive. It was a beautiful setting and we would come back again!

We recently celebrated our marriage anniversary at this beautiful cottage, and it was the most memorable getaway we’ve ever had. From the start, everything felt special. Del, our host, was incredibly kind and accommodating—going above and beyond to make our stay perfect. He even surprised us with a cake and set up a cozy bonfire for the evening, making us feel truly cared for. The cottage was spotless, beautifully maintained, and fully stocked. Waking up to the breathtaking waterfront view felt like a dream. On checkout day, Del treated us to the most delicious breakfast sandwich—just what we needed for the road. If you’re looking to escape the daily grind and soak in nature’s magic, this place is a 10/10. We couldn’t recommend it more.
