Vacation rentals with a kayak in Western Europe

My whole family absolutely loved our time at Anna's place. We loved waking up and looking for the Eagles each morning and the crane who came to visit. The water view was so tranquil. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening and the back porch during the day. On the day when it rained and we needed to stay inside we still had a great time playing games while enjoying the lightning show. You can't ask for a better view with all those windows. Anna has gone above and beyond with creating a home away from home for guests. I would definitely stay here again. My kids were ready to move right in. You won't regret booking this location.

We have been going to Roxie Point for years, and we enjoy our stay thoroughly every time. We'll keep going back to spend some time in nature, enjoying the lake and generally relaxing. We look forward to the next time. :)

This is a jewel box of a place, thoughtfully designed and outfitted, immaculately maintained. The house sits on the quiet end of a glistening riverfront, and for us, as we were there during a heat wave, the highlight of our stay was paddling in their kayaks on the placid waters that lead to Hamburg Cove (where the Eightmile River meets the Connecticut). These are very professional hosts; everything was perfect. It was a real treat to stay in their home and in this lovely area.

We had a wonderful time at Tami's place! The house is super cute, so well designed, and in a great location that lends itself well to doing things on-site as well as serving as a springboard to other places/attractions. At the house, we enjoyed sunbathing, snorkeling (cool fish living right there whereTami and hubby built a wall in the water with stacked limestone pieces), and paddling the ocean kayak (we saw a nurse shark as we were heading out to one of the sandbars!). We loved the deck where you can sit and enjoy the cool breeze off the water while listening to the waves and admiring the view. As mentioned, we were close enough to zip into town to shop, visit beaches, and do an excursion without having to drive very far. Communication both prior & after arrival was easy and replies were super prompt. Once there, Tami had left a notebook full of info on every possible thing to do/see on the island. We loved our time there & wished we could have stayed longer!

Highly recommend this place! My husband and I booked this Airbnb for an anniversary getaway. We loved that there was a private pond for kayaking, fishing and just relaxing by the water. What was also great was that the house was not too far from nearby restaurants and only a 30- to 40-minute drive to Galveston. We definitely want to come back!

My family and I had a great time at this Airbnb. Definitely recommend. Close to everything. Amenities were fun we used everything multiple times.

We loved staying here. We spent so much time on the screened in porch, taking full advantage of the hot tub, projector screen, and relaxing environment. We enjoyed an afternoon of kayaking and my kids loved playing foozball. This was the perfect spot for our short trip. Clean, relaxing, and fun. No shortage of pillows, which is important to me. One of my kids proclaimed the bed "the most comfortable bed ever" and wanted to take it home, lol.

I believe this is one of the best and most peaceful places we've ever stayed! it's just absolutely beautiful and serene! You wake up to the lake, eat breakfast, walk out on the dock, ride the kayaks, paddle boats, fish, etc. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and lake fun setting! My grandson absolutely loved it and thanked me over and over for taking him there! I wish we could have stayed longer but we are on a road trip and relocating back home to N.C.

The Knotted Knoll was a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Gorgeous surroundings paired with an adorable cottage full of whimsy. You can tell this home is loved not only by its owner, but all those who visit and stay there. Unique touches make you feel at home the moment you walk through the door. From the monogrammed apron in the kitchen, to the cozy linens on the bed and couches, it’s like visiting an old friend’s home. Dogs are truly welcomed with food bowls, treats and toys galore. I highly recommend staying at Kenny’s cozy cottage at knotted knoll. We can’t wait to be back for more as a family of 3.

Enjoyed our stay at Vanessa’a lake house. It was absolutely beautiful inside and out. We enjoyed the hot tub and watching the wildlife in area. This place is the perfect spot if you’re looking to check out the hot springs as well.

What a great get away! Truly amazing, great taste in decor, all new stuff, and everything you need. Did some fishing, had a fire, and cooked some homemade pizza. Will want to come here for a romantic getaway for sure! Thanks Kari!

We absolutely LOVED this place!! My fiance and I needed a place to stay for the night with our dachshund and this was the best place we could have picked! We rented the kayaks and it was so much fun🙌🏼 props to the owners of this place, because the decoration was amazing!! I will most definitely be coming back. Thank you so much for everything!!

So relaxing! We are always so busy and on the go, so this was the perfect spot for us! Private, and quiet; we enjoyed how peaceful it was. The space was super cute and clean and had everything we needed. Did some fishing, relaxed in the hot tub, and ate at a couple of local restaurants, The Wellwood, and The Forge. The only thing we didn’t enjoy, was leaving! Looking forward to going back! ❤️

The Lighthouse Lakehouse was very cute and cozy. It was so peaceful eating my breakfast on the deck every morning - staring out at the water and listening to the sounds of nature. If you want tranquility, this place is it. My teens enjoyed paddleboarding on the lake each evening. We spent the majority of our time at the AirBnb, but also enjoyed scenic hikes to nearby waterfalls and touring Blanchard Springs Caverns. It was the perfect start to our summer.

Nice Place. Tough and difficult for travelers to haul luggage across a long lawn without a walkway- but the cottage and location makes up for it.

We were on our honeymoon and was a perfect getaway for us to relax! We really enjoyed the amenities and extremely clean living space. A few of our favorite parts of the stay were chilling on the porch swing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing. We would highly recommend this to anybody who wants a private and romantic getaway!

This cabin and property are absolutely beautiful. The hosts are amazing. It delivers everything in the photos and so much more! Perfect for a family trip and beautiful get away. This is our 2nd time staying and we will definitely be back!

My spouse and I absolutely adored David and Hillary’s listing. Upon arrival, Hillary greeted us and showed us the property including the farm animals (alpacas, goats, chickens, pigs, etc.). The house itself was perfect with lots of space, washer/dryer, AC, and full kitchen. Within a 5 min drive is the iconic Route 66. The hosts recommended Chicken Shack and Pops, which were great. We also took advantage of the pond and used the free kayaks and SUPs. Overall, this was an absolute gem; and we would love to stay again.

Our kids had an absolute blast at the lake—paddle boarding and kayaking were definitely the highlights for them. The cabin was just as described and equipped with all we could need! I really appreciated the cabin being dog-friendly, and they included even a stake for the dogs to run around on tethers while we were outside. The view was gorgeous and the cabin as cozy as could be - I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Our stay was truly special and exactly what we were hoping for to celebrate our anniversary. The cabin was not only just as described, but it had an extra warmth and charm that made it feel like home. It was the perfect mix of comfort, peacefulness, and beautiful scenery—ideal for unwinding and spending quality time together. What really made the experience stand out, though, was Kevin’s hospitality. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great time—he even lent us one of his fishing poles and gave us a quick lesson, which meant a lot to us as first-timers. That kind of thoughtfulness made the trip even more memorable. We’re so glad we chose this place to celebrate, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Thank you Kevin!

We had high expectations based on the listing and reviews and they were met. The cabin was charming, well appointed, and clean. Great care package set up when you arrive. Hot tub, grill, fireplace all worked and the instructions were appreciated. A rare wind storm came through during our stay knocking out power to the area for part of the day but the well stocked games along with the fireplace to take the chill out of the cabin made us not mind at all.

I can’t say enough about the cabin and the host Mia. The cabin is small but spacious and not cluttered very mid century modern which made it very cozy and fun. It offered all the utensils necessary for cooking or BBQing. We caught lots of Crappy, kayaked, swimming area was nice and clean. Our grand kids enjoyed the lily pad and swing. Overall a great experience and lots of fun. Amazing. Sandee
