An idyllic place to spend a week with close friends. The house was made for both relaxing in gorgeous spaces and easy exploration of the area. Meal prep for a large crowd was a breeze in the well equipped kitchen. There is a great market close by and there are several restaurants within a short distance from the house. João was an incredible host, checking in a few times to make sure we were comfortable and well supplied. We felt fortunate to have landed in such a wonderful place. Thank you João!

Fady is a very kind, friendly and attentive host. The istalations are spacious and very welcoming, with all the necessary items. The outdoor kitchen allows good moments of conviviality at the table, in contact with nature in a very calm and pleasant place. I felt sorry I didn't stay longer and if it's possible, I would like to return. I highly recommend it!

Our stay at Quinta Rainha Santa Mafalda was unforgettable. The villa’s views over the Douro River and surrounding vineyards were absolutely breathtaking—sunrises here are something special. The home itself was spotless, spacious, and beautifully furnished, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The terrace was our favorite spot to relax with wine in the evening. The location is ideal: peaceful and private, yet close to wineries and charming villages. The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, providing great local recommendations that made our trip even better. Every detail, from the cozy beds to the fully equipped kitchen, was thoughtfully prepared. This was one of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve ever had, and we would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend! Also the house maid here was amazing and cooked us one of the best Portuguese dinners!

A serene, calming place to stay in the Douro Valley. The home is spacious, well kept, and charming. We faced some challenges on this trip, and Anabela was so kind and understanding, always responding and offering helpful suggestions and advice. The fresh bread delivery and treats waiting for us made everything better. The backyard was a highlight for the kids. The pool was a little chilly for us in early June, but the weather started getting hotter as left, so I’m sure it would be comfortable in the later part of the season. We had a wonderful stay!

Francisca and Henrique at the Mill House Quinta do Reciao were excellent hosts. They were extremely helpful with recommendations for sightseeing and winery tours; they gave us clear driving directions which were very helpful as well. They were always quick to respond to all our communications. Such good tips, ideas and feedback enhanced our relaxation during our 5 day stay. The experience they provided us at the Mill House was really incredible- home cooked four course meals personally delivered to our door every night was wonderful! Henrique is an excellent chef! And the wine was always perfect. Our stay there was wonderful!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful countryside home. The house is incredibly cozy and peaceful—perfect for unwinding and spending quality family time. Everything was spotless, and the little farm with chickens was a big hit with our son. He loved watching them, and it added a special charm to our stay. Juliana and Axel were fantastic hosts—so warm, welcoming, and attentive. They really went the extra mile to make us feel at home. We especially appreciated the fresh eggs and orange juice waiting for us when we arrived—such a thoughtful touch! We wholeheartedly recommend this place to small families or couples looking for a quiet and authentic escape. We’d love to come back someday!

This house is a real gem, an impeccable experience, from the lush nature to the quality of the olive oil offered to guests. And as if that wasn't enough, they also offered us some essential items for breakfast, in addition to a delicious bread that arrives in the morning during the stay. Mariana was very kind and helped us with everything that was requested. My boyfriend and I love everything and want to return many, many times.

We had a fantastic time at Torre Bella Gardens. The grounds are lovely, with lots of places to sit and enjoy a book and some sun. We were sent a comprehensive catalog of things to do on the island and enjoyed many of the recommendations. We would happily stay again, thank you!

Quinta Brigadeiro is a delightful place to stay. We received such a warm welcome from all the family and all the animals. Within five minutes of arrival we were feeding carrots to their donkeys and their dog. The accommodation itself is well designed, understated and uncluttered. It was lovely to be in a peaceful, rural area but with the amenities and attractions of Évora a short drive away. Thank you for sharing, we enjoyed our few days with you.

We spent the weekend as a couple to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was spectacular. We were totally alone, it was peaceful! In fact, we were not totally alone, we had the company of Léon, Nogai, Tom and Sintra - 4 super friendly, playful and very protective dogs of the guests. In addition to a small farm with chickens and 1 peacock, the horses are very beautiful. I would like to highlight the burrito Coco, who is also very docile! Grace welcomed us very well. Our privacy has always been preserved! We loved the pool and the dining area! The decor is fantastic and we were curious about the possible projects to be carried out with the marble bathtubs! We liked the fact that the "kitchen" was well-equipped and allowed us to cook some meals! We adore and recommend! Thank you so much for the experience, which I think will not be unique!

I spent a glorious month at Maria Celeste’s home. It was simply the best place to reset, connect with nature & rest. I’ve never been to a more peaceful home. Freshly squeezed orange juice (from trees) every morning. Lemons for water. A natural spring to swim off hiking grime. Mountains to climb surrounding the entire home. Lizard & butterfly friends. And so so quiet. Maria Celeste picked me up & drove me to the location. Taxi services available to go to town when needed. I can not recommend staying at this home more. If you need some R’n’R, stay. You won’t regret it.

This was the most magical place for our family of five. I now want to come back and try all of Miguel’s other properties. A true highlight was taking advantage of the connections to local vendors that come with the hosts recommendations. Private dinner at the Pinta Lounge was amazing . I said to my husband at one point , “ I am so happy I could cry” - that sums up this cottage.

Amazing property and view. We had a terrific time. The property worked great for our group. Best sunset! Marco and his crew were extremely responsive. Driving in the Douro Valley is not for the faint of heart. We had a ball!

What an incredible stay we had! Francisco and family were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. As others have said, he even brought us fresh bread in the morning, which we combined with local cheese, jam, and a nice Nespresso coffee. All very good but really it was the breakfast setting that made it amazing. Essentially you’re sitting out on a terrace in the sky overlooking the vineyards and the Vale de Mendiz. Stunning! Everywhere you go is a picture taking. The colours in the valley view are constantly changing with the light. Francisco also made recommendations which were very enjoyable outings, e.g. beautiful Casa de Mateus (we had lunch at Bistro Palcio just outside the main gate, try it), winery Quinta de São Luiz (Francisco’s son João recommendation), Pinhão for Douro river boat tour (the drive there along the valley is incredible). Must not forget the family’s happy-go-lucky long haired dachshund Pappy. What a cutie! Merci beaucoup Francisco! Gary & Suzie

We had such a wonderful stay! The hosts were extremely proactive about helping us with any and all needs. We were traveling with a 1 year old baby and they had everything prepared for him including high chair and crib all set up. We are so glad we got to spend a wonderful week at this property. We had a wonderful time in Vale da Palha! The place was very nicely located – in the middle of the countryside – and there was an incredible amount of space in the garden to relax and linger. An absolute highlight! Our own terrace was in the sun all day, perfect for breakfast, reading or just enjoying the peace. The place was perfectly equipped, we really didn't miss anything – everything we needed was there. The location is quiet and you need a car for the area, but you can also wonderfully spend time in Xander's huge garden. Another highlight was the five chickens that visited us regularly – as well as the friendly cats and dogs on the premises. We like to think back to this beautiful time and highly recommend a stay here! ☀️🐓

This place was amazing, way bigger than it looks in the photos, with everything we needed and incredible views. The host was super helpful and easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend and stay again if I get the chance!

Don’t think twice - just book immediately!!! Truly a remarkable incredible space, we can’t say enough good things. Beautiful quiet property tucked into the woods but so close to so many things including the town of Furnas. Very quick walk to the lake. We felt so peaceful here! The space itself was cozy, immaculately clean, with all the right amenities. Very comfortable bed. Amazing shower. The reception, restaurant, and housekeeping staff were all so incredible friendly and attentive. They truly went above and beyond to create a memorable, easy, peaceful stay. We loved getting to talk to everyone who worked there. And the restaurant - a MUST do when you’re there. Book a dinner reservation for the tasting menu, for sure. Easily the best restaurant we went to in Furnas area and it was right at our hotel! Delicious cocktails, thoughtful local ingredients including many from their garden, just incredible. The breakfast option was also well-stocked and delicious. Thank you to everyone!
