Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Iceland

Great house with loads of windows and beautiful views everywhere you look. The house was super cute, too. The pictures don't do it justice. The host was responsive and went out of their way to be friendly.

Super Unterkunft. Mit dem Auto ist alles in der Umgebung super schnell erreichbar. Alina hat uns super schnell geantwortet und war sehr hilfsbereit. Alles was man braucht ist in der Unterkunft zu finden. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist nur zu empfehlen!

This place is great! Very cozy and close to the golden circle and Selfoss, which has great restaurants! We especially enjoyed the cozy vibe of the interior furniture and kitchen. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and cold plunge combo. Magnús was really responsive when we had questions, and even got on the phone to walk us through how to fill the hot tub and turn off the lights so we could better view the aurora!

We stayed wishing to catch the Northern Lights and we were lucky enough to do so each night and be there for a huge solar storm. We ventured out the first night and after that realized we were able to stay comfy at our airbnb and see them both in the front yard and backyard. The house was spacious and our children 7 & 1 loved the books and toys available. We were offered a portable crib and high chair which were convenient. There were plenty of novels for adults and a variety of books on Iceland. There is a washer and large drying rack, dishwasher, and full kitchen which was wonderful since it is a serene spot you can relax and not run down the road 15 minutes for food or coffee. I enjoyed walking the road to the church and admiring the horses next door. The location is remote and going to parks or the city required an hour drive. Our host was gracious and extended our check out which was helpful. Thank you for your hospitality.

Einstaklega huggulegt og kósý hús fyrir vinkonuhópinn. Allt til alls í eldhúsinu og tvö baðherbergi :) Þetta er í annað sinn sem við erum allar saman í húsinu og við vorum allar sammála um að þarna væri gott að vera. Staðsetningin er miðsvæðis og samskiptin við eigandann frábær.

Wonderfully proactive communication made for an easy self-check in. House was spacious and charming. All the listed amenities were available, though we didn’t stay long enough to use all of them. Try the local restaurants — especially the bistro— they’re amazing!

Wir sind zu dritt unterwegs und haben uns in Holmfridurs kleinem Häuschen sofort wohlgefühlt. Mit dem Blick auf den Fjord konnten wir im gemütlich eingerichteten Wohnzimmer herrlich entspannen. Auch in der Küche haben wir alles notwendige vorgefunden. In beiden Schlafzimmern sind die Betten prima. Wir haben gut geschlafen. Holmfridur hat unsere Fragen schnell und humorvoll beantwortet. Sie ist eine hervorragende Gastgeberin. Wir werden ihr Häuschen gern wieder mieten. Danke für den angenehmen Aufenthalt.

Absolutely stunning views and an unbeatable location. The host was incredibly welcoming, easy to communicate with, and their pets made the stay even more delightful. Our whole family had a wonderfully relaxing time—we’d love to return!

Wir hatten das Vergnügen, in einer sauberen und großen, geschmackvoll eingerichteten Ferienwohnung zu übernachten. Die Wohnung war äußerst geräumig und sehr gepflegt, was sofort einen positiven Eindruck hinterließ. Die Einrichtung war stilvoll und bot eine angenehme Atmosphäre zum Entspannen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die hervorragende Lage: Die Boote für die Walbeobachtung sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Für den Weg zum Supermarkt wäre aber ein Auto ratsam. Insgesamt waren wir äußerst zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt und können diese Ferienwohnung uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Wygodne i duże mieszkanie. W pełni wyposażona kuchnia, wygodna łazienka. Dostępne jacuzzi z wodą termalną - super! Bezproblemowy kontakt z gospodarzem. Polecam!

cozy place to stay we have great experience, must stay

A beautiful apartment that looks just like the photos! Comfy beds, spacious living room, well-stocked and modern kitchen. And super close to the downtown, many parks, and coastline. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Disa’s place was perfect for us, cozy and stylish in a beautiful setting. Not too far from town but felt remote. Very comfortable bed, refreshing shower. We appreciated making coffee in the Moccamaster.

Even though the weather did not cooperate with our plans on this trip, having Soffia’s cozy apartment to come back to saved the day. This is one of the cleanest Air BNB’s we have ever stayed in. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the shower piping hot! There is a wonderful museum in Akureyri that has an amazing collection of maps and we loved Kaffi Ilmur for the delicious soups and pastries. Unfortunately we did not get to go whale watching because the weather was poor, but we can definitely recommend Baccala for the fish and chips! Soffia is an amazing host. She responded quickly to messages and was very, very thoughtful. We look forward to returning and cannot recommend Soffia’s cozy apartment enough.

Thank you for your great hospitality and life lessons while we explored your beautiful country! Our most breathtaking day was driving up to Snæfellsjökull Peninsula/National Park. Your providing a car with the airbnb was so appreciated- as was the pickup from the airport and the stop to see your "friend". Thanks for making us feel at home while traveling abroad.

Wir haben uns in diesem süßen Ferienhaus sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus war mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet und hatte eine wunderschön große Terrasse zum Toben für die Kinder, inklusive Trampolin und Zip-Line. Von dort aus konnten wir viele Ausflugsziele gut erreichen. Danke, dass wir so einen angenehmen Aufenthalt bei euch genießen durften.

Loved the location, the views and all the amenities available. It was a perfect place for the two of us, cosy and had all we needed and more. Only thing I'd recommend to take with you, that we forgot, would be slippers.

I loved staying at Thor's cabin. It was exactly what I needed for a relaxing weekend. Beautiful place, incredible scenery. Their well maintained cabin is privately located in the Fjord, but not to far way from surrounding towns. They have a great outdoor space, and the coziest indoor setting. Thank you! Hope to be back again!

We stayed at this place for two nights ( 3 adults and 1 kid). It is very well equipped, you'll find everything you need for grilling or regular cooking. Views are breathtaking, and if you're lucky with the weather you can just chill outside and enjoy the fresh air. Hosts were very friendly and quickly answered all our questions. Instructions are perfect. One thing to note - if you use google maps, don't put the address there, use the coordinates. Address is correct, but google maps directs you to wrong location ( though, not far from correct place ).

Tolle Unterkunft. Ein kleines, gemütliches Tiny House mit allem, was man benötigt auf einem großen Grundstück. Die Lage ist wirklich toll. Nach einer langen, aufregenden Reise durch Island konnten wir unseren Urlaub in dieser Oase am See beenden. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Danke schön!

Das Haus liegt etwas abgelegen, jedoch mit dem Auto gut erreichbar. Die Schotterpiste macht Spass mit einem 4x4. Die Aussicht auf Akureyri ist wunderschön und an 2 Abenden konnten wir Nordlichter sehen. Die Unterkunft ist angenehm und ideal zum Energie tanken für die nächsten Abenteuer. Die Forest Lagoon mit ihren schönen Pools und Finnischer Sauna ist weniger als 10 Minuten per Auto entfernt.
