Castle vacation rentals in Europe

Although a little expensive, the views, and being in an Abbey was an amazing experience. We had plenty of room and the apartment had everything we needed including tea! The canal locks were a thrilling surprise to watch when going for coffee or ice cream. Loch Ness cruise was beautiful. Everything you could need from coffee to restaurants and gift shops to convenience store all walking distance but very quiet complex with a city link bus stop 5-6 minute walk to explore the highlands.

We LOVED our stay at Nathalie's lovely home, nestled among the vineyards. Exactly as advertised, if not better, it was a beautiful home, nicely decorated and both spacious and cozy. The beds were comfortable - important when staying as long as we did - and we had all the modern amenities we needed in this very old "castle". We had no trouble getting Ubers/taxis into Bordeaux proper when we needed to and it was nice to enjoy the peace and quiet of the location. Even better than the house itself, Nathalie was a very gracious, extremely helpful host. She helped us arrange a chef to cook for us on our first night there and even selected an array of wines to go along with our meal. She was very responsive leading up to our stay and throughout. If you want a relaxing and luxurious stay near Bordeaux, definitely book this location. I hope to come back!

The accommodation is exactly as described and Philipp is a friendly and accommodating host who also takes time for questions or the like. The property is ideal to "clear your head." However, you have to be aware that the building is still in progress in parts. So, if you're looking for sleek modernity in the shabby-chic style, you're guaranteed to be disappointed. We just found it great there. AAA+++

I wish we could give more stars. Honestly spectacular in all ways. Perfect for a family trip extremely comfortable accommodations with enough to do we were busy hiking and exploring the gardens and forests and the palace itself. The town is just 2 miles away with great food and shops. So much to do outdoors. Truly spectacular.

The location of the absolutely spacious apartment in the castle and the terrace with park view, the adjacent large castle park itself, the café, the Italian, the supermarket directly in throwing distance next to the castle, the landscape, the friendly people, a totally nice hostess - everything was absolutely perfect for our extended weekend in Wiesenburg. We have to thank you.

The most amazing experience! This lovely chateau for the 7 of us travelling in 4 classic cars - true highlight! The bedrooms & en suite bathrooms are spacious comfortable clean. Kitchen well stocked & our groups cozy center point. Parking ample. Everything is roomy & lovely & simply a joy to behold. The true star is host Cue - from the moment of our initial enquire to our departure, she has been incredible! Helpful, professional, clear communications, proactive - full of great ideas & boundless energy to make us feel like chateau royalty. Without hesitation- 5 star recommendation on every aspect!

Claudia’s place was historical and charming in its own way. Parking next to her place is very easy. We were only a few steps from the door.

Beautiful apartment and very well equipped. Such a peaceful location and walking distance to Peebles with a good variety of shops and restaurants. Zowie was very responsive and helpful and went out of her way to help us when we thought we had left something behind! Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Absolutely lovely historic home in an adorable town. I only wished I booked more time here. This town and home was a highlight for our entire family. Very comfortable and felt at home. Highly recommend the cheese and chocolate stores that are just across the canal.

Peaceful and serene location .We felt right at home from the start .Our little dog loved the nearby beach and so many beautiful walks to choose from .Excellent location for cycling to Rosslare harbour or Kilmore Quay stopping off at the pub at Lady Island on way home . We will be back !!

The suite was beautiful. The views and peaceful surroundings were priceless. We loved the area, but ended up spending more time at the rental than expected due to the beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend.

‘Le Barn’, in the grounds of Chateau Belebat, is a charming accommodation which is beautifully and tastefully presented by the engaging hosts Jeff and Oscar. It is a peaceful, rural location, ideal as a base from which to explore this area of the Loire by car. For those on 2 wheels, it is worth mentioning the cycle path close by which connects to the local village with the all important Boulanger just 2km away from Le Barn. The nearby town of Richelieu is worth a visit and there are numerous other attractions in the locality. We picnicked by the river, tasted and bought wine in various Chateaux, explored Saumur, Chinon, Amboise, and several smaller villages, discovered charming restaurants, explored local markets and toured some of beautiful Chateaux gardens. Overall a wonderful spot although the little seating area outside Le Barn is not particularly private or comfortable if one wanted to chill/sleep/read a book in complete peace for an hour or two after a hard day sightseeing.

The castle was stunning- inside and out. It was better than the pictures! I loved the quaint area. Far enough from big city to get peace, but close enough for a quick drive to smaller towns (down the street), and larger towns within 25 minutes (Stirling). The property is very well maintained and a great experience to live the "castle life". The inside did not disappoint! Every room got better and better. The first bedroom has a classic royal design. It is offset from other rooms and was perfect for my mom to stay in. My husband and I had the master with an ensuite. It was luxurious with robes, slippers, a glass vanity, hair dryer, flat iron, and more! The main area was beautifully decorated and kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The stairs continuing up the tower led to a fun TV room, another room with stunning views where my teens stayed, and finally the balcony was indescribable. The property manager was a fantastic communicator and we enjoyed being welcomed so warmly!

Our stay at this beautiful chateau was absolutely magical. The apartment was very clean, quiet, and had been completely renovated with high-end furnishings, a sleek, fully equipped kitchen, and luxurious bathrooms — every detail was top quality and thoughtfully chosen for comfort and style. The chateau itself is elegant and serene, nestled in a picturesque village full of blooming flowers and roses — truly like something out of a fairytale. We especially loved taking peaceful walks in the nearby forest; the trails are easily accessible right from the chateau. We were lucky enough to spot a red stag and a few foxes during our walks — a truly unforgettable experience. Our host, Cecile, was perfect — warm, gracious, and incredibly thoughtful. She was always available if we needed anything, yet gave us complete privacy. Her hospitality and attention to detail made our stay feel so special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and are already dreaming of returning.

A beautiful place to stay , with so many extras , felt totally private and loved the use of the outdoor seating area and hot tub . Both me & my wife said it had been one of our favourites, note to others book somewhere to eat if travelling at the weekend. The only ‘extras’ we d of liked would have been robes & slippers but that said that’s being picky . A beautiful find .

John's castle is just amazing. Everything we could only dream of. Setting is idyllic, relaxing, homely, spacious and grand. Laura welcomed us, showed us around and was friendly and made us feel at home. Breakfast was a treat and cooked beautifully. Any questions we needed answered were done quickly. We dined out at two of the recommended pubs and the food was brilliant. Our labrador Holly was made to feel like one of the guests. She had the run of the castle, loved the walks that were close by and of course the lake truly made her experience 5* too. My children enjoyed a singing lesson with Laura and there was no problem with general noise the children made. We met John and he was a knowledgeable gentleman. Thank you for letting us stay in your home John and many thanks to Laura for everything you did for us too.

We fully agree with the previous positive references. Gianluca and Rita are extremely lovely hosts. The old dog lady Astrid also patiently took in our dog Yeshi. We enjoyed a fantastic panoramic view with sunrise and sunset from the well-kept apartment on the second floor. The villa itself is a charming, interesting building, reminiscent of a small castle. Staying at the castle was truly a dream come true! What a magnificent place, and the village and people were so friendly and helpful! Our breakfast was so fresh and tasty every morning, and so plentiful. Staying at LaSassa was one of the highlights of our entire stay in Italy, and you truly felt like a king and queen! The renaissance details, authentic stone, painting and old touches really added to the charm. I was so sad to leave, and would recommend everyone to stay at this truly unique and wonderful place!! It was so nice to be away from the crowds of Rome and Florence, and the view of the Tuscan Valley from the top of the castle was breathtaking! I can’t say enough wonderful things about staying at the castle. Thank you so much Giacomo and staff for your wonderful hospitality, and making our trip to Italy the trip of a lifetime!!

We received good recommendations from Fabienne before arrival and were greeted in a very friendly manner. It was a dreamy feeling to stay in a castle tower. We had brought wood so we could spend the evenings by the fireplace. The decor is so beautiful and everything coordinated. We can only recommend this place!!! We will be happy to come back 👍

Beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need. Everything has been thought about. Want to sit in the garden but it's a bit chilly, it's ok they have blankets. Want to have a bbq outside, brilliant they have the bbq and kitchen full of utensils and plastic plates, bowels, and cups to prevent breakages. The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, body wash, bath salts, towels... The list is endless with all the extras that come with this cottage. It's clean and tidy. Beds are comfy. There really isn't anything to complain about about. We did 2 nights here and could easily have done more. Thank you 😊

What a beautiful home to spend a week in! Annika was extremely helpful and responsive leading up to the trip as well as during the trip. We had all of our requested fulfilled and enjoyed a wonderful time in the Normandy countryside.
