If you want to stay in paradise & truly want to experience what the Douro valley is all about, stay here. If you’re a bad driver, don’t come- roads are tiny and curving. A little hard to find the place - look for the church after the ship monument - it’s def worth the effort! What an amazing view right out of our rooms, living room and terrace. welcoming and accepting attitude and chill vibe. Favorite place on our trip throughout Portugal!

An idyllic place to spend a week with close friends. The house was made for both relaxing in gorgeous spaces and easy exploration of the area. Meal prep for a large crowd was a breeze in the well equipped kitchen. There is a great market close by and there are several restaurants within a short distance from the house. João was an incredible host, checking in a few times to make sure we were comfortable and well supplied. We felt fortunate to have landed in such a wonderful place. Thank you João!

This place is absolutely stunning! Alessandro is the most amazing host- very flexible with our late check in and early leaving time- even brought us a cappuccino at 3:30am before we left! Couldn’t recommend more- we will definitely be back- thank you for the most amazing stay!

This is paradise!! Unfortunately we only spent two nights here, but that gives us all the more reason to come back. Viola is very friendly and knows a lot about the area. We loved the farmhouse, the views are to die for. The pool area is amazing, you're surrounded by olive trees and (the scent of) lavender. It's green, it's peaceful, breakfast is yummy and her sweet dogs and cats made me miss my own pets a bit less. Our stay was absolutely perfect 🩷

We loved our two nights at the farm. An amazing, beautiful, tranquil place with animals who make you feel right at home! Laurence was a generous and kind host. I highly recommend if peace and nature is what you seek.

Giovanni’s property was AMAZING. The grounds are beautifully kept with flowers amidst vistas of the Tuscan hills. Bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms spotless. Giovanni and his family take such pride in their property and in making sure their guests have a first class experience. We would love to return someday!

We had a great family weekend in the slow house in the middle of the forest in front of the lake. The place is great, exotic and very quiet. The cottage is well-equipped, clean and perfectly decorated. The heated pool is an asset (too bad there's no small ladder to get out of it) The owners are responsive and attentive. We recommend ++ this Airbnb.

Lynne was lovely! She was so helpful to communicate with. The “hut” was adorable. Neat, clean, and cozy. One note, my tall husband bonked his head on the entrance door frame, so just a word of caution to taller folks! 😂 Once inside, he had no trouble settling in. The location was incredible for all the hiking we enjoyed. Town is accessible, but removed and easy to reach. The lambs in the pasture right outside our door were adorable to wake up to! Lynne was always responsive and kind to communicate with. We are so thankful for our stay and will highly recommend to anyone coming to Skye. Thank you!

We had a fabulous stay here at Tilly Lodge, everything was beautifully set out and you can tell a lot of thought has been put into this place. All the little touches felt so personal and it really made it feel so homely. Beautifully furnished and decorated, it was an absolute treat to stay in. We asked the host for some fizz, a delicious cake and a grazing board for an additional cost and it was well worth it! It was waiting for us when we checked in which was sensational as it was our anniversary and it made the whole time feel so special. We would absolutely come again!

Absolutely loved our night at Jayne's hut! Beautiful spot in the countryside and easy enough to get to from London, just wished we could've stayed a bit longer

I thought these houses only existed in the movies! Access to the accommodation is not easy, basically because you cannot access it by car, but it is worth every step you have to take to get to this paradise surrounded by nature and in a wonderful environment... we had not yet left and we already wanted to return. In addition, communication with Katja was unbeatable, and she gave us the best advice to get there with our baby and in the most comfortable way possible. Thank you Katja for sharing your fantastic house with us.

We had a really lovely stay at Banchory Farm. By far, the best one we stayed in! Jane was very accomodating and responsive to our queries. The cottage had everything we needed, and more! The view was stunning, we felt at home the moment we walked in, the place was the right balance of old and new, which was the exact vibe we were looking for. We went around the surrounding towns and spots based on the recommendations in the booklet, and we loved every stop. Hubby went for a run the next morning and he loved the area so much. Wished we couldve stayed longer but we surely will be back at Banchory farm next time! ❤️

We had a fantastic stay at Maël's place. It is the perfect place to switch off and relax. We travelled with our two small children who enjoyed the pool and games rooms. Maël has thought of every detail to make it an enjoyable stay for a family and was so kind and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Thanks for letting us stay at your little slice of paradise. The cottage was as stunningly beautiful as the pictures show and we enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of our normal city life. The surrounding area was breath taking to see with an abundance of pretty mountainside towns. We would definitely recommend hiring a car to stay here as we did, this will make getting to places easy. We particularly enjoyed our cooking class, it was both interesting and delicious. Our hosts were great throughout our stay. Catherina was very informative, with super clear instructions and a speedy reply she made sure everything went seemlessly. Dina and Nino came to meet us to show us to the cottage, they were extremely warm and welcoming from the get go. We really enjoyed getting to know them both a bit more during our cooking class, there were many laughs at dinner with them and they made us feel welcome and relaxed. We will honestly never forget this experience. Thank you so much x

We immediately felt at home in this great accommodation! Mia made it easy for us with her hospitality to feel really comfortable right away. The accommodation is a gem, the garden a dream! For us as a family with a small child (4 years), a perfect place to relax, start excursions and just breathe! You can feel the attention to detail in every corner!

We had a wonderful week at Casa Brava. The apartment is beautiful, authentic and lovingly furnished, with its own terrace and seating in a very nice property embedded in the beautiful landscape of southern Portugal. In the evening, you can admire the sunset on the shared roof terrace and swim in the natural pool. Marco and Julie are wonderful hosts, they are very warm and open and were always very concerned about our well-being. We didn't miss anything. Breakfast was delicious and eclectic. Since I have to eat strictly gluten-free, they prepared it gluten-free for me! (This is a considerable effort and not a matter of course). Overall, beautiful and a clear recommendation

Ilonka & Rob were wonderful hosts & the house was stellar. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - it was incredibly quiet & peaceful - away from the hustle & bustle yet close enough to enjoy several surrounding towns & villages as day trips or for evening dinners. Their home is charming, super clean, & stocked with everything we could possibly need. They even shared fresh fruits & vegetables from their personal garden which we incorporated into our meals when we cooked at home. We enjoyed some nice walks through the mountainside which offer beautiful views & solitude. (Thanks to our hosts for recommending!) We hope to be back when it is cooler - but we did enjoy the pool during the hot afternoons. Until then, we are grateful to have found this gem & for the kindness extended to us by Ilonka & Rob. They answered all our questions, provided helpful recommendations, & were generous with their time - available when needed & happy to socialize but always respecting guest privacy.

Rita's place (we called it the "Stone House") is absolutely beautiful and superbly comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and has a great espresso machine all setup for your use! It is very close (by car) to many nearby towns with lots of restaurants and interesting sights. It served as the perfect "basecamp" for our party of four, while exploring the nearby area. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at Rita's place and would have loved to stay much longer!

The Barns Tower was such an amazing experience during our visit to Scotland! We wanted a castle experience and we got just that! Such a lovely place that was peaceful and quiet. The grounds were perfect for evening walks in the quiet country side. The tour of Nedipath Castle was an amazing opportunity as well! We happen to be in town during the Beltane Festival, which was awesome!!

‘Le Barn’, in the grounds of Chateau Belebat, is a charming accommodation which is beautifully and tastefully presented by the engaging hosts Jeff and Oscar. It is a peaceful, rural location, ideal as a base from which to explore this area of the Loire by car. For those on 2 wheels, it is worth mentioning the cycle path close by which connects to the local village with the all important Boulanger just 2km away from Le Barn. The nearby town of Richelieu is worth a visit and there are numerous other attractions in the locality. We picnicked by the river, tasted and bought wine in various Chateaux, explored Saumur, Chinon, Amboise, and several smaller villages, discovered charming restaurants, explored local markets and toured some of beautiful Chateaux gardens. Overall a wonderful spot although the little seating area outside Le Barn is not particularly private or comfortable if one wanted to chill/sleep/read a book in complete peace for an hour or two after a hard day sightseeing.
