Vacation rentals with outdoor seating in Dumfries and Galloway

Carole met us to check in, showed us round the fabulous house and made sure we were settled. The house and largy garden are the best we have ever stayed in, and all our Airbnb have been very good to excellent. The location is great for exploring Galloway. We had a fantastic holiday.

Thank you, Elizabeth, for a great weekend! The Old School House was fantastic. The house was impeccably clean and well-stocked with everything we could possibly need, and we felt right at home. Elizabeth provided great local tips although the unkind weather limited what we could do. But this meant more time for the fabulous hot-tub. The comfortable lounge was a great place for the family to chill and chat in the evenings - I don't think the TV was turned on at all. Just a great place to stay. Can't recommend highly enough.

We really enjoyed our stay at Curlew Cottage. Daniele was so welcoming and friendly that we soon felt at home in the warm and comfortable cottage with everything you need. It is wonderfully peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside for walks or relaxing with a good book. We would have liked to have stayed longer and would love to go back again. We stayed for 5 nights and absolutely loved it! James was an excellent host with very clear instructions on directions to the property and how to gain entry. The property was immaculate on arrival with a very handy information book with instructions on how to use all the appliances. The kitchen was well equipped and has a good sized dining table, the living room was comfortable and with a smart TV making it easy to login to Disney+, Netflix ect. Both bedrooms had plenty of space and built in wardrobes and both beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was also very good with a spacious shower, we had no problems with the power or heat of the shower. The neighbors are very friendly too. The pub which is just a two minute walk over the road also served lovey meals and good had good service. We would definitely recommend staying here and would return if in the area again.

Wonderful cottage to explore beautiful upper Nithsdale and beyond. The garden was a lovely feature and the cottage was everything we needed it to be. Both the large bed and sofa were comfortable to sleep on. Very satisfied with our stay. Thank you Julia.

Carmen is a super host, we absolutely loved the home from home home feel. My little boy who is 2 years of age settled to sleep well in the childrens room (this tells me he felt safe in the cottage). The roku stick was available to use and worked easily. The trail at the side if the house has beautiful waterfalls to view and a few stopping spots for those who need to go a little slower/steady or have children. We experienced no issues at all with our stay. Thank you Carmen we will definitely be back again.

Firstly, I'd like to start by saying I'm fussy. I like to ensure I have a clean, very comfortable place to say with nothing to hide (some places can be quite deceiving from listing's). This place is small but absolutely amazing. Worth every pound, and to be honest, the host could charge more if she needed based on the great effort in every detail that's gone into the property. Easy to find, with a bus stop straight outside. Effortless communication, very clean and comfortable, well equipped for our stay. It's clear to see Tann has put her heart into creating a really inviting peaceful space, to give travellers the opportunity to explore Carlisle on a budget. There are hotel chains classed as 4star that aren't as comfortable as this beautiful little annexe/outhouse. We would absolutely stay again if in the area, and would highly recommend.

We loved the privacy of the place, no people around just nature, gorgeous view from kitchen/room, visiting squirrels, robins and hares. Very very clean, have everything you need. Mattress is too soft for us but that's all we didn't like. Close to explore all the lovely lakes for walks. Local pub only 10mins walk through public footpath, friendly welcome there as well. Overall fantastic long weekend there, thank you both !

Perfect setting for pristine accommodation. The 'container' lodge was impeccably clean, very fresh looking with a cozy but modern vibe to it. Living area sliding doors are a nice touch, well equipped kitchen and all necessary utensils available. Another nice touch was how good the shower was ! The simple things in life ! Hot tub and fire pit area well thought out for both privacy and protection from wind on breezy nights, and like the inside of the lodge also impeccably clean. Highly recommend for escaping from the world for a few days, and will certainly look to book again . Every part hassle free and communication of instructions & help couldnt have been better. A well deserved 10/10

What a truly wonderful little place, there is so much to do for the kids and my two really did enjoy it! The apartment was absolutely stunning, spotless and also very spacious. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to book a trip away to the lakes be it with children or without. We will definitely be coming back!

Great location with the centre 5 minutes walk away. Lots of eateries within a few minutes. Lots of parking nearby (payable but that is normal in a city). Well equipped place with everything needed and spotlessly clean. Great outdoor courtyard. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

What a beautiful place to stay! Thank you Jerry for having such a well maintained apartment - including a full kitchen so we could self cater. The whole place was also so snug and cosy and the bed was super comfy. Perfect place to just relax after a full day exploring! Fab location with stunning views overlooking fells - quiet area, barely knew others were about. Apartment well looked after, clean and tidy. Bonus having access to the gym, sauna & spa. Have stayed in a many B&B's, Hotels etc over the years and this is one of the best. Hosts have provided an immaculate, comfortable home away from home. If you want to stay in or near Portpatrick then this is the place. Book it NOW!

We loved our stay at TOSH! It was the perfect place to escape for a few nights and relax in. The attention to detail throughout is clear to see and creates such a lovely vibe. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting the area.

Where do I begin? This place was amazing. Lovely owners, very clean accommodation, and probably the cosiest place we have had the pleasure of staying in. We wish we could have stayed longer. The house was very nicely decorated and situated near local amenities. It was absolutely immaculate inside, however, the star of the show was the spacious, luxurious hot tub where we spent most of our time! Chantelle the host was absolutely lovely, cheerfully in constant communication. A tip for future residents: try exploring the adjoining ruins and river. We spent an idyllic afternoon there in the sun. Simply beautiful!

Absolutely loved this place. So many personal and luxurious little touches. Just felt like home. All the little details lovely toiletries, coffee and biscuits, luxurious towels and good quality bedding! Right down to treats for the dogs. Sorry to be leaving after only one night. Will definitely return here for more nights to get to know the beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

We really enjoyed our stay here at Whitbarrow. The apartment was lovely, with the special addition of the balcony overlooking the beautiful views, which we enjoyed with a cuppa or two. Our boys loved the toys and the drawing that was available to play with but, of course, their highlight was the pool. Local distance to Lowther, buttermere, Penrith, pooley Bridge, Keswick etc so lots to do. We’ll be back soon! 🙂

David & Tia's place was perfect, everything as described. It is a lovely quiet location, tastefully furnished, and very homely. We were very comfortable and David & Tia are great hosts. They are easy to communicate with and most helpful. We would highly recommend this stay. Thankyou David and Tia

A fantastic place to stay. We loved the big window overlooking the bay and watching the tides and the weather. Lots of lovely welcome gifts too! Cake, tablet, cava, oatcakes and marmalade….we felt really spoiled! The bay is lovely for swimming at high tide and you can walk out to islands at low tide. There’s also a lovely little path from the bottom of the garden along the shore to some small shell beaches you can have all to yourself. Definitely hope to be back before too long !
