Really fantastic little place in a stunning part of Scotland. The hosts were fantastic and very helpful despite our fleeting visit.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Mark the host gave us super easy and clear instructions to get to, and get in the caravan which made things super easy. The caravan is absolutely stunning, so clean inside with absolutely everything you need, from plates, cleaning products, even a slow cooker and dishwasher. Everything was left for our one year old including a cot and blankets, and they even had bubbles, loads of games and books for all ages. The WiFi worked really well and honestly we couldn’t fault it. The site was lovely, although there wasn’t loads to do for the kids, they made use of the golf, football pitches and pool. The entertainment was decent and we even won £500 at bingo! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Our 1st time at Cruggleton Lodge - though we have stayed at the relatively adjacent High Lodge several times. As at HL before, we had an idyllic week - which the facilities at CL provided an excellent foundation for. CL is secluded, set in the edge of woodlands, with breath-taking views out to sea. The walk through the woods down to Garlieston starts literally outside the door. Woods containing deer, hares and a wide variety of bird species. Have already booked again!

We spent 5 nights for half term here and very much enjoyed our stay. The views are magnificent. Very tranquil setting - perfect for sunset walks and relaxation. The kids really enjoyed being able to see the stars at night away from the light pollution of cities. People are polite and friendly. The accommodation had everything we needed and was a great base to explore SW Scotland. Anna was great with communication and an excellent host.

Our family of 6 enjoyed being in this Holiday park for a whole week. We had the luck to discover a lot of local beauty sites. Furthermore, we visited some Highlands Loch and castles that was amazing. Definitely will be back in future.

My second stay at this place. Was very impressed the first time. A very relaxing and very tidy place to spend a weekend with family. Very good view of the sea and Alisa Craig island rock. Caroline and Stuart were very helpful and accommodating with my scheduling of the stay. Highly recommend this place.

We stayed for one night in Sam’s lovely cottage in the centre of Moffat on our way back down to England from visiting family on the West Coast. The cottage was as described, clean, very comfortable and well appointed. Check in was easy. Sam responded quickly to our queries. Thank you.

Great little base for our few days away. We’ve been coming to this area for 20+ years and usually stay in a cottage. Thought this accommodation would be perfect for us. Location is great. Central to most things we visited.

We have just returned from a break at the lodge and it was superb! A gorgeous find where the photos don’t do this justice. Nigel was a fabulous host, communicated well and really friendly. We stayed as a family of four with a 7 year old and 2 year old. Nigel had left a high chair and travel cot for us. The view is fabulous. We made good use of the hot tub and the pool table. The lodge is well equipped, towels for the hot tub and bathroom use, we loved this as saved us so much for packing! There is underfloor heating in the hallway to two bedrooms and the main bathroom that heated the whole lodge, it was super cosy! The kitchen has all you need and the finish in decor and furniture is beautiful. We had a lovely few days out, Mabie farm park is local and great for kids and a walk along the river at dock park. We will absolutely be back and had such a great few days! So pleased we found this place!

We had a beautiful stay at Zounish's cottage, which was even more gorgeous than the pictures! We were lucky to have sunny weather and enjoyed walking into town and visiting the shops & cafes (our favourites were Cafe Ariete and Lothlorien Antique & Collectables Emporium). The location was easy to get to by foot, but a peaceful distance from the town. All we could hear from the garden was the little lambs baaing and birds singing!

A fantastic place to stay… off the beaten track in and amongst the trees surrounded by nature. Very private! The lodge is well equipped, comfortable, warm and with spectacular gardens. We had a lovely long weekend and even saw a red squirrel a few times doing a nut run. Recommend others going to the Butchers and Fishmongers in Kirkcudbright to stock up. Fantastic produce and a great price! Please note the Sat Nav does NOT take you to the right place so follow the detailed instructions (including photos). You can walk from the Lodge to Rockcliffe and Kippford through the forest which is a stunning walk (perfect for dogs off lead) and takes about 30/40 minutes. Bring your own dishwasher tablets, oil and everything else you might need to cook with.

Charles was a fantastic host who went above and beyond to accommodate for our family. He has brilliant local recommendations and a very helpful website. Burnside is a beautiful, secluded cottage with everything you could need. Lots of wildlife to be spotted in the garden and surrounding fields and close to many amazing places with countless things to see and do! Can’t wait to return again on our next trip to Scotland. We had a lovely time at Eric & Cathy’s home. Cathy was very helpful in getting the heating sorted for us. They have plenty of information on hand about Kirkcudbright and the surrounding region. We enjoyed exploring the town; the walk along the River Dee to Tongland & return is interesting. We especially enjoyed our days outing to the Mull of Galloway: really worth the drive! The house had all the amenities we needed; even got to sit in the sun in the back yard for a while!

This was our second lovely stay at Gina's and we had a great holiday. Moniaive is a beautiful little village and the cottage is perfect- we even had some sunshine this time so could enjoy the garden! Gina is a great host and made sure we had everything we needed and very kindly left us a little gift to thank us for rebooking. We would love to stay again- thank you Gina!

Third time at Justin's place. All good as per previous stays. Great for the 7 stanes cycleway or / and for work trips when you want home from home rather than a hotel. Highly recommended 👍

Peaceful and beautiful views. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen.. We loved our stay there and would book again. You do need a car as up a very steep hill but the views are spectacular. Thank-you for making our stay so welcoming.

Rose cottage is a beautiful cottage, full of character:- its ideally located for the town of kirkcudbright (being just a couple of minutes on foot). the cottage was spotlessly clean, beds super comfy and showers great. at the rear is a delightful garden with sun terrace which leads to a playpark with grassy area. a few minutes drive away, is barrhill wood, where, you can spot the local wildlife, including red squirrels. can highly recommend the excellent butchers(hall's) around the corner, along with chen's chinese takeaway, the scran van on the quay for fresh fish and last but not least, the masonic arms, best pub in kirkcudbright

Lovely peaceful cottage on the farm. Anne was happy to help with all of our questions. Wonderful views from the living room and great for kids to be close to the farm animals.

Great place, stylish, cozy, quiet but also handy for shops/takeaway, comfortable and clean.

The cutest, coziest, little place to stay! Gwen was warm and welcoming, with so much consideration put into what a guest might need! There were plenty of suggestions on where to grab food, all the fixin's for hot cocoa (my daughter's favorite), and classic games to play. The garden is beautiful, too. I wish we had had more time to visit the area, we would have stayed at Gwen's the whole time. If we are ever back in Scotland, I will definitely check for availability here first! :)
