Family-friendly vacation rentals in San Miguel de Cozumel

My husband and I stayed at Tom's condo for 5 nights. The whole experience was excellent, from the moment we booked until the super easy check out. Tom was very responsive, proactive, helpful and friendly. The condo is beautiful, spacious and clean. The kitchen is well supplied. There was even a drinking water dispenser there. The balcony is huge (more like a patio), the view is breathtaking. Wifi works well. Air conditioner works well. Water pressure is good. There are even 3 bikes (!) and snorkeling gear. (by the way, the snorkeling, right in front of the building, is the best on the island). Honestly, I can't think of anything that I would change in that beautiful condo. We will definitely come back!

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful condo in Cozumel overlooking the ocean and many cruise ships. Spacious, modern and clean interior with plenty of space for the family. Relaxing pool environment that wasn’t crowded unlike many of the resorts. One item to be aware of is that there is definitely some noise (scooters/motorcycles) on the street below throughout the evening. Overall though, beautiful condo and cost effective way to visit Cozumel. Would definitely consider staying here again!

This was an amazing stay! We even overheard a couple staying at an all inclusive when we were at a different beach, they did not enjoy that hotel as much as they did at the Residences Reef. Host was very responsive as well. Overall highly recommend!

If you are looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay, this is a place for you! The house is located at the end of a quiet street in a beautiful neighborhood. It has easy access to the Playa Car beach which is usually less crowded than other beaches in Playa. The host provided chairs, umbrella and beach towels, making beach trips even more pleasent. Communication with the host was absolutely perfect, she even came to meet us, which we appreciated very much. The house has a great collection of books, from Mayan culture and wildlife to mystery novels to read when relaxing by the pool. Overall, this was a perfect vacation. Our stay at Casa Jaybird was amazing. We spent a month here and could have easily stayed longer. The location really can't be beat - a super quiet street right off 5th Avenue and walking distance to the beach. But for being so close to all the action, the home felt so private when you were inside. Elizabeth was always responsive and quick to answer our questions, and Samuel was always so kind and happy to help with anything around the house. We have young children so we had white noise machines in all the bedrooms, so we didn't have any concerns with the noise as some reviews mention. There was some construction nearby during the day but truly nothing that really bothered us. We'll be back!

Great place! Wasn't sure what i was getting into when we first pulled up as we'd never been to PDC before. Turns out we were 5 easy blocks from the beach and 5th Avenue which is where all the action is for tourist food and festivities. The place is also surrounded by 'local' food and fare as well - El Fogon is 2 blocks away, Walmart is 2 blocks away, many local tiendas from right downstairs to blocks away. Very clean - A/C's were working - had an issue with a drawer (at 7am) and Allen had it fixed within an hour. The balcony got great AM sun - i spent most of my time while there on the balcony just because we came from the North and i desired heat. But ... this place is not for those seeking solitude and silence, though. It's very loud with street noise. The tour busses start coming by at 7am and don't stop until about 9pm. All day. Everyday. But if you stayed closer to 5th Avenue you'd have to deal with the club music so it's a toss up. We had a blast and loved all of it!

Highly recommend!!! The property is extremely secure with a very friendly staff that was super helpful. The condo is steps to the sand and pools, both of which are very relaxing without high traffic of people. All of Mark's information was extremely useful, and he made himself available with any questions we had. Overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely be returning!

loved our stay at the plantation house! the balcony was a delight and the space was great. The water bottles were really handy and the property was unique to anything else around. Walkable to everything and host was great at communicating. thank you!

An incredible stay on the island of Cozumel! We had a wonderful stay with a SUPER host that made us feel at home! Marco greeted us personally, which is very nice and unusual these days on Airbnb. He gave us information and map orientation. I was so impressed to have the offer to make reservations for our car rental and scuba dives with some discount, too. His knowledge of the island and its history was impressive. Unique, with wonderful paintings and beautiful sculptures are in the home and garden. Cotton sheets, and beds are so comfy! A separate cottage for 2 is included The kitchen is well-equipped! There was a fruit bowl plus cold beers in the frig. What more could we wish for? Loved the warm clean pool! Each bedroom had its own balcony! Enjoyed the variety of CDs with player too. We will certainly be back and give this home a visit for weeks. Walking distance to all the good restaurants and groceries but a taxi costs just $2.50 USD in town. BIG Gracias Marco!!!!

Rosey was amazing and speaks perfect English, there is plenty of drinking water provided so no need to purchase. They provide towels for the beach, as well as plenty of towels for your stay. Hot water for showers, a/c, TV, and internet. Terrace is amazing! Pool is private just for us!

Ileana met us on arrival, responded promptly and the house was just what we expected. Near good restaurants, and easy walking distance to strip. Always felt safe and it was quiet.

Great place right near the entrance to Playacar Phase 1. The main living area and kitchen space felt very roomy and spacious. A great place to spend time as a family. There are two very large balconies (pool view and street view) that make for a perfect place to relax. It's a small condo complex so we always had the pool to ourselves. Easy access to shopping, restaurants, and the Cozumel ferry. You need to pass by security each time you come and go from security, so it feels very safe but is slightly annoying.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The neighborhood is really peaceful and quiet (far away from the chaos of downtown Playa del Carmen), green and lovely. Akab Condominio itself is very nicely done, with apartments surrounding a swimming pool and large trees. You feel as if in the middle of nature. The apartment itself is in front of a green area but not right in front of the swimming pool, which is better. I liked the way the apartment is decorated, it was spacious and clean; the shower was also really nice. A couple of pluses that this apartment offers is the washing machine and the huge jug of drinking water for us in the kitchen. Thanks for the personal attention. On the down side, it can be a bit noisy when children play in the swimming pool (thankfully we're not right in front of it). It would also be good to install a smoke detector. The apartments are set up in such a way that there's no window next to the stove, and the kitchen hood does not get all the vapor out if cooking a lot.

The place is as described In the pictures. We have a good stay. The room is big and the AC works fine and also there is a powerful standing fan if you prefer. The kitchen has the basics if your ever decide to cook instead of going for tacos. The TV and internet worked fine (good speed) without interruptions during our stay. There is hot water in the shower although it takes a bit of time to start. The water flow in the shower is not abundant but it’s ok. The place is quiet for being right in downtown, other than the usual rooster, we could not hear too much traffic noise with the windows open. The location is good, there are many restaurants near by and of course the malecón. The check in was smooth and the host is very responsive.

Great place to stay. Private surroundings, balcony was a great place to sit and relax. Looks of great restaurants on the street, and a fantastic place to grab coffee right across the street. A bit of a walk from right downtown - but taxis were available and inexpensive. Overall a great stay.

Caro and Anita were responsive to requests and their place was just what my wife and I were looking for which is peaceful a relatively short distance away from the city of San Miguel. Definitely recommend staying at their place, thanks again Caro and Anita!

We came to Cozumel to do the Ironman. The house was perfect for us. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean, the kitchen is very functional, the place is very spacious, we were able to get a taxi very easily, the Sorianna grocery store is walking distance, the good restaurants are also walking distance. Claudia and Aracely are very responsive, helpful, and great in communicating! I highly recommend this place! :)

Tom's condo was a great stay for us. It is in a good location, close to restaurants and grocery and the property is very nice. Tom was an excellent host. Will stay again!

Somehow I got the impression place was right in the water...it wasn't. Info said place was called Hacienda Montecristo, next road down from Melia Hotel. It was actually about three or four roads down, and Hacienda Montecristo was not on the sign. Sign said some thing like "Country Estates"... took while to figure it all out. But after all that we wound up loving the place.... the spaciousness and layout of two floors and ample bathrooms. And all the steps outside to get to it, and the steps inside to the bedrooms gave our seventy year old legs a great workout.

El departamento estaba limpio y equipado con todo lo que puedas necesitar. La ubicación es buena, a 15 minutos del pueblo pero rodeado de las playas más hermosas de la isla y ideal para disfrutar de tranquilidad y privacidad. Memo, nuestro anfitrión, fue excelente: siempre atento, respondiendo rápidamente a cualquier duda y brindando excelentes recomendaciones locales. Él y su esposa nos hicieron sentir más como amigos que como simples huéspedes. Recomendaría este lugar a cualquiera que esté buscando una escapada inolvidable en Cozumel.

The host met us at the entrance when we arrived. He showed us through the home and its amenities. It was a beautiful place! Walking distance to downtown Cozumel. The home had a beautiful pool and a rooftop deck. Every evening we sat on the rooftop and enjoyed the view of the town and stars. It was very relaxing! Would definitely stay there again!

A wonderful place to stay with a wonderful host! This is the second time we stay at Casa Nic te, we feel really at home here! Pamela is a very welcoming host that makes sure that you feel at home, she is a generous and fun loving person with many good stories to tell, we we're very lucky to spend some time with her around some wine with her friends telling stories and some good laughs! :) The Terrace is a great place to relax, the room is very spacious and clean with an outdoor kitchen, her garden is to dream for!! Its a little piece of heaven in town. The location is perfect, walking distance to supermarkets, 3 blocks to the center with many restaurants and close by to the waterfront. It is quiet and safe neighbouhood. I recommend her place for a very pleasant stay in Cozumel. Thanks Pamela see you soon!
