The Joshua Tree House is a two bed two bath 1949 hacienda located 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA. This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making local coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by over 100 Joshua Trees and a starry night sky.
This house is very close to downtown Joshua Tree with many shops and restaurants about a 10 minute walk from the house. This also means that some sound from the highway can be heard. If you're looking for a completely silent desert experience, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree Casita (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974). Please also check that listing if you can't find the dates you're looking for. Welcome to the Joshua Tree House! This hacienda was built in 1949. With over 100 Joshua Trees on the property, the views from the house are magical. If you're up for it, sunrise on the front porch is incredible. We estimate that some of the larger Joshua Trees on the property are as old as our country! *Mattresses and Bedding by Casper* There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. We can also set up an extra memory foam mattress in the hammock room (has privacy with pocket sliding doors) to accommodate groups of six.
Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. There are many wonderful places to visit during your stay at the house including the Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's, the Integratron, Salvation Mountain, the Salton Sea, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum, Crossroads, BKB Ceramics, and la Copine (a delicious new french restaurant in the desert).
  • It is a beautiful and unique place. Very peaceful. You wake up in the morning with a beautiful sunrise, birds singing in your window and bunnies on your garden enjoying the first rays of sun. The house is unique. Very cool and comfortable. Also is very technologic but you do not realise until you get there. The beds were the mostly comfortable and soft beds I ever slept in. We are definitely coming back. We had the best experience. Sara and rich are very kind and always answer very fast if you have any question. I recommend it 100%.

  • Absolutely gorgeous house down to every detail. It was super clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. Seemed even nicer than the posting in real life! We will definitely be coming back.

  • The Joshua Tree House was a beautiful, meditative sanctuary in the desert! My friends and I had a great time just hanging out on the porch watching the sunrise, prepping meals together, and watching the stars from the hot tub. The coffee was delicious and the sound system was great. It’s very close to many shops and restaurants. We all want to come back!

  • Sara & Rich's place is the perfect place for a desert getaway. It provides an awesome setting, perfect in every way. Very close to great places to shop, eat and explore.

  • I had the best time here with my husband and 3 year old. We felt right at home in this gorgeous house and used all it had to offer. Naps in the hammock, made a fire at night, cooked every day, hot tub at night, views, sunshine, record player, lovely backyard... we will be back. It was such a treat.

    Paula2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. There aren’t good enough words to explain the magical stay we had at this incredible home. It will exceed every expectation you can have. The star gazing in the hot tub, the beds, the decor, every bit of this entire experience was beautiful. This is not just a place to stay but a work of art to enjoy. So worth every penny.

    Sara2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute dream. Perfect stay in every way for a girls weekend away. We enjoyed the hot tub, the rooms were sparkling clean and the beds were truly comfy as can be. Such a joy to relax in such a perfectly styled home on a lovely Joshua Tree lot, close to everything. Outstanding!

March 15, 29 - April 1st now open. There has been a lot of concern about the Covid-19 virus. We are now sterilizing the hard surfaces in our listings. We are quite isolated here so your exposure risks are much lower than in a city. If you have been exposed to it, please don't make a reservation. We have been listing the Mushroom Dome Cabin with airbnb since July '09 and have had the most reservations of any of their listings - in the world. We have had over 5,000 guests from over 50 countries.
As we are no longer allowed by Santa Cruz county to rent the Mushroom Dome Cabin, we are now listing the LAND of Paradise Suite, a room in our unique home. (LAND: Love And Nature Divine) Make a reservation for the Suite, you will also have unlimited access to the Mushroom Dome.We have 10 acres next to land without fences so you will get to enjoy nature: just hang out on the deck, take a hike in the woods, watch the hummingbirds on our deck, pet the goats, go to the beach or gaze at the stars - as long as the moon isn't full. ; - ) During the summer, if there isn't any nightly fog, we can see the Milky Way here. To check our availability, click on the "Request to Book" link. And yes, if it isn't available, it is already booked! If you want to stay here on a weekend, you will usually need to make your reservation request about 6-11 months in advance. We have another listing: the Hummingbird Haven. It usually has more availability. You can find it here: airbnb.com/rooms/6562632 (Please read all of this description before making a reservation request.) The cozy and clean semi-rustic retreat space has a loft under a geodesic dome (the "mushroom cap"). In the loft is a Queen-sized super popular Casper Mattress which allows for very comfortable meditation and/or sleeping and just hanging out. We provide clean sheets and pillow cases. Plenty of blankets are also provided. In the LAND of Paradise Suite, is a double bed as well as a fold out bed, a small fridge, an electric tea kettle, teas, and coffee. Let me know if you want to cook meals here and I'll tell you how. The other "bed" is a couch that we can make up into a bed. If there are going to be 2 of you, but you want separate beds, please make the reservation for 3 or let me know ahead of time - there is a $10. charge for using it as a bed. On the main floor of the Meditation Mushroom retreat (a Pentagon) is the couch a pull-out table and 2 chairs. We provide a small refrigerator, a Hot Air Popcorn Popper (and the kernels), French Coffee Press, an Electric Water Kettle, a wine opener, dishes - and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals, games, etc.: 1 inside and 1 outside on the large deck that faces the redwoods. We also have a barbecue grill on the deck with an extra gas burner on the side. We provide Organic Coffee, teas, Oatmeal, popcorn, butter, honey, sugar, nutritional yeast (for the popcorn!) spices, oil and vinegar and various snacks. Our well water is treated by an ozonator, a UV light and a soft water filter. If you have a baby and you won't be needing the second bed, make your reservation for 2 and let us know if you will need a small pad for the loft. Again, if there are 2 of you but you want to use the second bed, please make your reservation for 3. The cute bathroom has a Travertine shower, custom tiled sink and a Natures Head self-contained composting toilet. Some guests have had a problem with our bathroom, so I want to make it clear that we have a curtain for the door to the bathroom and we require that you put your used toilet paper in the trash. (it won't smell) If you follow the instructions for how to use the toilet, it won't have any odor. If you stay here for more than 1 night, you may need to change the pee bucket. We will do it for you if you want, but we do need you to pay attention to the pee level so it doesn't overflow! If the thought of using a composting toilet grosses you out, then don't make a reservation here. ; - ) We provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair blow-dryer, etc. (a word of caution: the bathroom has a low ceiling. If you are over 6' you may have to do a little ducking here and there.) As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends: Friday to Sunday. On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation. (This includes Presidents Day, Memorial Day, M. L. King day, and Labor Day.) But to stay here on a weekend, you will usually have to book the cabin 6 - 8 months in advance - unless you are lucky to find a cancellation! Check-in time is between 4 and 10pm. If you want to come sooner or later, this can sometimes be arranged. Check-out time is noon. As we have experienced some damage from guests, we are now requiring a $100. security deposit. Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 10 minutes to Aptos Village where you will find stores, New Leaf (a very large natural food store), restaurants, a health food store, Safeway, etc. We are centrally located on the Monterey Bay: 10 minutes from the beach (Rio Del Mar and Seacliff State Beach) as well as the 10,000 acre Forest Nisene Marks State Park for miles of hiking or dirt biking in the Redwoods and along Aptos creek. We are 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz, 25 min. to the Beach Boardwalk, 45 minutes to Monterey and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, 50 min. to Carmel and 1 1/2 hours to Big Sur going south and San Francisco to the North. Yup, we are located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. (these times are not during rush hour(s) ; - ) If you love hummingbirds, bring your camera. Our garden is the year-round home to many Anna Hummingbirds. (We usually have about 300 - 600 year-round) During the summer, we are also called home by many Rufus and Allen Hummers as well. So you have got to see our "Hummingbird Airport" where we feed them about 130 oz. of syrup on a summer day! Please, no smoking or vaping in the cabin or on the property. We used to let smokers stay here, but they stink up the cabin and it is a fire hazard outside. Some cell phones don't work here, but since we have free wifi in the cabin, if your phone works with a wifi network, you are good to call. You can sometimes get Verizon service on the swinging seat by the driveway. To learn about things to do in the area, do an internet search for Santa Cruz, CA. Dogs are welcome to stay here but with a few requirements: since we have so many animals, we require that your dogs be kept on a leash when outside (the goats get very nervous with large loose dogs). Also, we don't allow dogs in the loft or on the couch downstairs so please bring a doggie bed. (your doggie can go on the couch if you bring a cover for it) If that is difficult, let us know and we will provide a doggie pillow. We have a gate that we can set up so your dog can be off the leash on the deck. If you are bringing a small child, we can put a folding futon (2/3rds of the futon or a foam pad next to the bed ) Just let us know ahead of time. Keep in mind, though, that a child should not be left in the loft by themselves as the bed is fairly high up against the rail. As we are about 3 miles to the nearest bus stop, it is pretty difficult to stay here without a car. You are invited, if you feel you would be harmonious here. Pet the goats, check out our chickens, cats, miniature dog and enjoy the very fresh air. If you come here when there is no moonlight and the sky is clear, you will see lots of stars. Tired of the heat in the summer? Since we are on the edge of the "fog belt", it can be both sunny and cool here. If you want a noisy place, you won't like it here: most of the sound here comes from the birds or crickets chirping, the tree frogs croaking and the breeze blowing through the trees. People do live on the land here though, so don't expect it to be totally devoid of human sounds and the occasional chain saw. : ) (We feed the goats oak branches)
Even though we live only a 8 minute drive to Aptos village and the beaches, it feels very remote and private here. It is usually very quiet at night - sometimes we can hear the ocean waves crashing on the beach. There is lots of land to hike on and explore here as well. We have 8 people living here in a rather loose community.
  • Magical place, closer to Capitola and to great beaches! The mushroom dome is unique, very comfortable and Kitty is a sweetheart. Her dog Elliot is also a formidable companion :) The place invites you to disconnect, enjoy nature, cook, rest. It was the perfect setting to celebrate my partner’s birthday!

    Alisson2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kitty gave clear directions on how to get to the cabin and even personally met us at the driveway so we could get to know our hostess which was so nice. We were a little put off by the idea of a compostable toilet but after experiencing one and how clean and easy it seemed to maintain we're looking into replacing our standard toilet for a compostable one as well! Her cat milo was so friendly, although I'm allergic I couldn't help but show some love...and take some claritin! The landscaping was breathtaking throughout. Can't wait to come back with a book or two to read and enjoy in the garden. Kitty has a rulebook put together which some may find daunting...but if you read through the rules are pretty common sense. We loved her sense of humor and are looking forward to booking again soon.

  • Quiet, relaxing and quirky...enjoyed my stay!

    Heidi2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever encountered. Such a serene and beautiful environment. Kitty and Michael are incredible hosts and made us feel extremely welcome.

    Kitzia2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very great hosts and Kitty will take the extra time to welcome you and provide a little history about the place. The environment is serene and relaxing especially sitting on the deck drinking coffee and or having breakfast.

  • Even if you expect it to be perfect, Kitty & Michael will give your time a chance to expand your concept of perfection

    Paul2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kitty and Michael are gracious, kind-hearted super hosts. You will fall in love with the Mushroom Dome; my two friends and I felt at-home very quickly. The location is beautiful, the hosts are absolutely lovely, and the place itself is breathtaking. The bed upstairs is super comfortable and the shower is pleasant as well, with water that warms up right away. The Mushroom Dome is incredibly charming, and hearing about it’s history from Kitty adds another element of awe to your experience. This was my friends’ and I first AriBnB experience, and we feel so lucky to have chosen such a perfect place. None of us stumbled across any issues with our stay, and our entire trip was smooth and enjoyable. If you find dates that work for you, I urge you to book, I can’t imagine anyone regretting this stay!

This inspired dwelling nestled right into the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge mountainside. Reverently framed by the iconic round doorway, the wondrous views will entrance your imagination and inspire an unforgettable journey. Every nook of this little habitation will warm your sole, every cranny will charm your expedition of repose. Up the pathway, tucked into the earth, an unbelievable adventure awaits!
The majority of your neighbors will be deer, rabbits, birds & grouse. It's 2 miles up the mountain and although there are houses it gets more remote the closer you get to the hobbit hole.
  • Loved the Hobbit Hole! It was snowing for the duration of our stay, so it was very magical. We spent most of the time exploring the area with the provided gear. I'm know it's even more scenic during the summertime. Highly recommend the space!

    Jason2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible stay at the Hobbit House. We struggled a bit to find the exact location due to GPS complications, and once we found it, it was a bit of a challenge to get ourselves and our belongings up to the structure (including a cooler). However, our host clearly recommended the use of the yak tracks as there was still some ice up the walk way. Just know that if you visit during the winter months, your agility is something to consider. Once we made it inside, the generator was easy to use, and plenty of gas was provided. It took a bit to warm up the house, but we were comfortable all evening long. We enjoyed the sweet treats left by our host, to include cookies, a scone, coffee, tea, and cocoa with an electric kettle. The view was extraordinary, though we didn’t explore much outside due to the weather (wind). It was a darling place to stay - very romantic with quite a few fantastical touches. It definitely felt true to Middle Earth and Kristie did a great job giving more than a nod to the Hobbit. We even read a few chapters from the book which was available to guests. The pictures on the listing are true to life, though they did not give justice to the beautiful view or level of privacy. We can see that it would be a real treat to visit in the summer months. It was a magical adventure that we will never forget.

    Courtney2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • aside from camping, I have never stayed anywhere with a view that amazing! 100% on 4x4 vehicle for the road and use of the yaktrax provided for the walk up. brought our own campstove to cook food (outside) and fulfilled all our Hobbit dreams. Unforgettable getaway!

    Charles2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The view is amazing. The host was very responsive and gave us all of the information that we needed. We also loved the little wood working bench. It was a really cool touch. Highly recommended!!

    Matt2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great night here. Such a fantastic location with great views from the porch, and of course the actual hobbit hole is so awesome! Would love to come back someday. Make sure you use the yaktrax to make the hike up to the house, it can be a little icy.

    John2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • When they say you need all wheel drive to get there in the winter... it is no joke, but so worth the extra effort! The views are out of this world! The craftsmanship of the details inside were just stunning. Kristie was a great and helpful communicator leading up to and during our stay!

    Alyssa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is as good as it looks, and there's a reason it's booked out months in advance. We had a great time here.

  • Unlike any other Airbnb listing you'll find. If you crave calm and relaxation, this is the perfect place. I finished an entire book and a 1000 piece puzzle during my 2-night stay. The unobstructed dessert views transform any activity into pure magic. Come here to slow down and completely unplug.

    Karen2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's home is an incredible home. Watching the sun rise over the high desert is a once in a lifetime experience. Living off grid is something we all must try to help us check our living habits. Highly recommend this Air BnB.

    Jeff2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place is simply amazing, the setting is private and the views of the desert and the mountains beyond are uninterrupted. The house is an architectural gem with all the basic necessities. Stayed there for 4 nights, and will definitely come back.

    Alex2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • There is something to be said about Linda’s home and the way it pulls in the beauty of the desert into every room of the house. It is as if the outside is some how inside. It is extremely special. The off grid feature is still very secure with the certainty of water, electricity and wifi. Linda has been extremely easy and quick with her communication, before and during my trip. (Thanks Linda!) I recommend staying here as long as you possibly can. I also recommend food shopping before arriving at the house. You will not regret buying firewood while you’re at it. It can get pretty cold inside in the winter. There is a Vons on 29 Palms. I think that’s the closest super market. It will take you around 20 minutes to get there from the house.

    Marika2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway weekend from Los Angeles! House is exactly as described in photos. A few tips for packing if you book this trip: - Firewood and matches (indoor fireplace was highlight of our stay) - Water or Brita (no filtration in the house) - Warm and cool clothes (temperatures swing greatly)

Charming and romantic,' Round' Cottage on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Formerly, the cottage was sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson's summer studio on the Santarella Estate. The two-story cottage has a charming bedroom with 35 foot high conical ceiling with canopied bed upstairs with views through massive, multi-paned "mill windows" to the trees and sky and out to the lily pond. The downstairs sitting room looks out on the babbling brook and lovely gardens.
Now open year-round! Charming, One Bedroom Cottage, former sculpting studio on the Santarella Estate in Tyringham, MA. Known as the "Silo Studio" Cottage. There is a bedroom with canopied queen bed upstairs and a sitting room with window bench-seat, coffee table, table and chairs, kitchenette area with wet bar with Micro/Fridge coffeemaker, toaster and bathroom with shower are downstairs. Fall asleep to sounds of the babbling brook and views to pond and forest from the large screened openings upstairs, like living in a "tree-house". Accommodates two only, fully furnished, all linens, towels included. There is Satellite DTV and Wireless Internet on site. The cottage is situated on four acres including lovely gardens, beautiful lily pond, running brooks and 2 acre woods. Absolutely unique, one-of-a-kind experience! Please Note, the cottage has traditionally been a three season rental from approximately March- November, however, due to much interest and demand, we have recently added a larger capacity pellet stove and made winterizing efforts and plan on keeping it open for guests interested in a winter experience in the cottage! Please keep in mind that access to our grounds may be limited with the accumulation of snow in winter months. During predicted extreme weather events, we will gladly work with guests to change reservations as we are always concerned for their comfort! Our lovely grounds are open to our guests. There are garden paths, babbling brook with stone bridges, loveliest of lily ponds, stone bench seating area with 'chiminea' and firewood for guest's use. There are two acres of woods with a loop trail as well. The town has an exceptionally beautiful Swimming Pond about 2 miles away which our guests may use. There are BBQs and picnic tables and it is often deserted. While we do not allow pets, we will consider requests to allow 1 small pet with prior approval and acceptance of rules and policies. The cottage is located on the Santarella Estate surrounded by gardens and storybook architecture. Santarella is located in the Tyringham Valley, tucked away 3.5 miles from Mass. I-90, a lovely and magical place where one feels like they have stepped back in time. This is definitely a place to 'get away from it all', enjoy quiet, rural surroundings close to the Appalachian Trail and Tyringham Cobble for hiking and many lovely ponds for swimming or kayaking. Vehicle is necessary. Grocery and other shopping at 3.5 miles.
Tyringham Valley was one of the original settlements in Western Massachusetts. It is mostly agricultural conserved land giving it a very rural, bucolic and idyllic character. The lovely 'Hop Brook' runs through the middle of the valley which is sparsely populated with mostly historic homes, making one feel like they have stepped back in time. An original, beautifully preserved Shaker settlement sits on top of the hillside opposite Santarella, overlooking it. At the far end of the valley, the gracious columns of the burned Ashintully mansion overlook the entire valley and are all that remain of the gilded-age estate which has beautiful preserved formal gardens, great to visit and hike. The Appalachian Trail is 2.25 miles from the cottage.
  • Amazing magical place. I took my girlfriend here to propose and she loved it, it was like fairytale. Special thanks to Denise and Dennis as they have been outstanding host from the planning until the end, thank you for the amazing help and being super kind. Studio is unique and filled with many special touches everywhere. The nature and the garden is lovely too. It was absolutely unforgettable experience for us!

  • A lovely winter stay! The pellet stove kept us toasty warm. A truly unique place to stay with a great location. Peaceful, whimsical, cozy! Wonderful owners with great communication.

    Helene2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here, and I concur with all of the other reviews––the space is magical, Denise is a very kind and accommodating host, and everything was smooth and easy. It was cold out, but the stove kept things toasty inside and we really enjoyed being tucked away in the silo. This is a special place.

    Andrew2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Denise and Dennis go above and beyond for their visitors, and the Silo Studio itself is like something out of a fairytale. It's in a fantastic location - surrounded by peaceful woods and a babbling brook, but still close enough to town so that you can have fun shopping and dining at the many places you'll be recommended.

    Cheryl2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is one of a kind! You are truly transformed into a fairytale. If you want a unique, charming and unforgettable experience, stay here! We will be back.

Red cinder leads you through the dense jungle to your secluded bamboo treehouse. Nestled on top of stilts 15' up in the canopy of the local flora, ascend to your retreat via the trapdoor or begin your adventure in Volcano National Park 10 miles away.
Upon arrival, let the red cinder path be your yellow brick road as you are lead through the jungle to your personal paradise. At ground level you will encounter a hanging bed, suspended beneath the floor of your new living quarters. Stop and relax or continue up the staircase to the trapdoor. It is through this trapdoor that you are allowed access to the lanai amongst the canopy of trees. A beautiful wrap around lanai allows for a 360 degree view of the lush jungle, while two sliding glass doors grant access to the bedroom. Upon entering, you will notice that the generous windows and doors allow for natural sunlight to flood into the house, complementing the bamboo fixtures and vintage 1970s wallpaper that backs the bed. The white bed linens reflect the light giving a dreamy, cloud-like aura to the space. There is counter stocked with a local coffee and snacks nestled into a corner of the house and overlooked by the handcrafted porthole windows. Bamboo backed cubby holes and hangers furnish the wall behind you and create an elegant, minimalist closet space for you to store your personal items for the duration of your stay. Just past the closet is a sliding door that accesses one of the most fun areas of the house: the bathroom. The bathroom jalousie windows stretch from the floor to the ceiling and the horizontal glass plates open up, creating an indoor-outdoor effect. Naturally caught rainwater cascades from the large shower head above before disappearing into the floor boards below. You'll notice that the natural theme spills over into the bathroom with sustainable cork board backing the shower and air plants intermittently growing throughout. The toilet and hand-made rock sink in the corner make use of grey water eco-principles by allowing you to wash your hands with fresh water before it goes on to fill the bowl. One of the most fun aspects of this property is that it allows you the opportunity to experience true off-grid living without sacrificing any of the comforts of normal life. Natural lighting, solar power and rain water catchment are the three principles that have been integrated into this tree top design, making it almost like a living organism itself. The beauty of this high flying haven is in the details. I spent the better part of three months personally constructing the building as well as the accessories inside. My goal was to create a customized and secluded space for your occasion. The chandelier, hanging lights, port-hole windows, rock sink and platform bed were all DIY projects that I specifically created to enhance your experience. The bamboo pillars that 'support' the lanai and the moss carpet under the hanging bed were harvested from local areas on the Big Island. IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE MAKING A RESERVATION Don't worry, the capital letters are just to emphasize importance. I'm not mad at you. But please read this entire section before making a reservation. As lush and inviting as the Dreamy Tropical Treehouse is, there are inevitable 'challenges' that come with staying in an off-grid treehouse in the Hawaiian jungle. My goal is to give you an experience that combines adventure and luxury so I want to make sure that you are aware of the following things: 1. The treehouse is about 15-feet off the ground and is only accessible by the 'ladder-stairs'. 'Ladder-stairs' is just another way of saying 'very steep' stairs. There is a hand railing and none of my visitors have ever had a problem going up and down. There is a pulley system for hoisting up your bags. Only those who believe they are physically capable should book a stay. Just remember to go up and down the stairs facing them... like a ladder! 2. The running water comes from the rain falling on the roof and is not treated; therefore, the water is not potable. I will provide several bottles of drinking water. 3. The electricity you use is generated by sunlight and is stored in a battery. Once the battery runs out of power it has to recharge. This shouldn’t happen but just be mindful not to leave lights or power hungry items running for extended periods of time (No hairdryers). The windows allow for plenty of light during the day. 4. This is the rainy side of the Big Island so expect some showers! Realize that the pitter-patter on the roof is the rain's first stop on its journey to the water tanks and then to your shower. Also notice how warm it is. Don't think of rain as a trip ruiner but instead an asset to be enjoyed! 5. There are bugs but this isn't the Amazon. For such a tropical climate you will be surprised at how few bugs there are. The main things you will see are moths, fruit flies (due to fruit falling off of the trees) and mosquitoes. Bug repellent is provided but it never hurts to bring your own. They really don't get that bad but their presence increases after a hard rain and during the twilight hours. Luckily, the hanging bed has mosquito netting that drapes down to encompass it. 6. Noises. Living off-grid in the jungle also brings about its own set of noises. The water pump and solar inverter will make soft noises throughout the day as they are used. The falling fruit from the vivie trees can also be alarming if you don't know what it is, and at night you are going to be serenaded by the sweet chirping of coqui frogs. Rustling branches, grunts and squeals typically means that the cute family of wild pigs is nearby. They are harmless and will runoff as soon as they sense your presence. Quietly grab the binoculars and, if you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of them! All of these aspects are what makes this place so unique and, with the right mindset, they’ll only enhance your overall experience. Guests have free range to fully utilize every aspect of the house. The hanging bed, wrap-around porch, indoor-outdoor shower and closet are at your full disposal. I have recently installed a kitchenette that has a sink, cooler for storing food/drinks, and a coffee maker (also capable of heating up water). Any and all goodies stocked in the house are there for your enjoyment. Here is a more comprehensive list of amenities and features that will be available to you: •Indoor/Outdoor Shower •Toilet with Overlaid Sink •Organic Shampoo/Conditioner •Towels •Ample Parking •Tiki Torch ‘Flashlights’ •Hanging Bed •Table and Chairs for Lanai •Binoculars •Several Books •Outlets (3-prong and USB) •Kitchen Sink •Coffee Maker •Clean Linens •Gramophone Music Player for iPhones •Cooler for Food/Drink •Card Game Guest interaction can be tailored to your needs. My goal is to make sure your stay is unforgettable so you can always contact me via phone or email. Because I do not live on the island year round, a local neighbor can assist you if you have any problems that need tending to. Upon your arrival I can arrange to have someone greet you and show you the property or simply stow away the key for your convenience. The choice, of course, is yours. Even though I am not on site, I can always be reached. Feel free to call/text/email me at any time during your stay should the unlikely event that a problem arises. I will immediately contact the proper authority to have the problem remedied. The treehouse is located at the end of a neighborhood street making it very private. It is set about 50 yards off the street behind a windy, jungle path further adding to your privacy. There are only about five full time neighbors scattered throughout the neighborhood so don't expect to see a lot of people. The treehouse is about 20 miles from Hilo, 23 miles from Pahoa, 12 miles from Keaau and 8 miles from Volcano. Volcano is the closest place for laundry, good restaurants and groceries, though you will pay a little more for the groceries than in Hilo or Keaau. I recommend you stop on your way in from Hilo. When you book I will include a guidebook that has the locations, hours and prices of local restaurants and grocery stores. There is quick access to highway 11 and it is 10 miles from Volcanoes National Park. Numerous opportunities for sightseeing and adventures are within a 40 minute drive of this treehouse paradise and they will be included in my guest guidebook as well. This is the ultimate spot for couples seeking romantic seclusion in the middle of a tropical jungle or individuals who want to escape the world. Unless you feel like hitchhiking, you will definitely need a rental car with high ground clearance to comfortably explore the surrounding areas and access the treehouse. While nothing is 'far' on the big island, everything is just a bit out of reach by foot... except of course for those lovely, yet dense, jungle strolls.

  • Really incredible place to stay. Make sure to try at least one night.

  • The tree house was awesome! What a magical experience in nature in Hawaii! The tree house was just like the pictures, and the frogs outside were great to fall asleep to. I was a bit apprehensive of bugs, but the screens kept the bugs out just fine. The only reason I took a star off of this review was because the bed sheets and pillows smelled strongly of mildew. I understand that Hawaii is a moist climate so this may be unavoidable. If you are someone who has mold or mildew allergies, consider that before booking. Otherwise we had a great stay!

  • No matter how breathtaking you think this listing is, just wait until you see it in person! Pictures can’t capture just how perfect this place is!

  • This was absolutely amazing and one of our highlights! We wanted this little adventurous housing but we were surprised to the better!

  • This is a magical place, you can't ignore your inner child when you're at the tree house. You have all the privacy in the world and it's a place where you truly connect with nature. Loved it!

  • We had a wonderful time at Kristie's beautiful tree house. The house and the location are quite spectacular! Not only did we enjoy the beautiful house in the wilderness but we also truly enjoyed the little things like the apt books and games she had left for us. My wife really enjoyed showering with the view of the wilderness 🤭. Also, special mention for her hospitality and ease of check-in and out, everything was very smooth. Would definitely recommend this experience! Thanks Kriste! 😃

  • Stay here. Just do it. If you love the outdoors and just getting way, this is the spot for you. Communication was a breeze and finding it was easy because she literally covered any questions/needs that could have come up. Beautiful spot.

*This cabin was featured in the New York Times in January, 2017. * A magical homesteader cabin embedded in 5 acres of unfenced Joshua Tree desert wilderness, 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. Experience peace, quiet, wildlife and STARS—on the grid but off the pavement. Important to note before you book: NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN 2-12 NO EXTRA GUESTS NO PARTIES (including dinner parties) NO DRONES NO COMMERCIAL/PROFESSIONAL SHOOTING (photo, video, film) NO GRILLING NO PETS Thank you!
If this cabin is booked on your dates, check out our nearby "Midcentury Prefab Homesteader Cabin." *** If you would like to use our cabin as a shooting location please get in touch to discuss our rates, otherwise we do not allow commercial or professional shooting of any kind (photo, video, film) during your stay. Thank you in advance! *** The restored cabin, which has been featured in the New York Times 'T' travel magazine, Wilder Quarterly, The Weekender and the book 'Jackrabbit Homestead,' was constructed in 1955 and still has its original green paint. The renovated interior has a cookware-outfitted kitchen and dining area. There is an outhouse with a dry toilet and roofless shower a few yards from the cabin. Wireless internet is available if you require a connection to the digital world. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning. Joshua Tree National Park is a 15 minute drive from the cabin. The Integratron and Giant Rock are also 15 minutes away. The cabin is less than two miles from artist Noah Purifoy's famous sculpture garden site. Two miles in the other direction is Dhamma Dena, a Vipassana Buddhist retreat center. The always swinging Pappy & Harriet's BBQ and music roadhouse in beautiful Pioneertown is a 30-minute drive. The Lou Harrison House, which hosts occasional devotional, folk and avant garde music events in an intimate setting is less than 10 minutes away. We will be happy to give you directions to each of these unique places (and many others) that we frequent ourselves. The cabin sits on 5 acres, and feels remote, but it's just 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. You will travel a few miles on a secure, hard dirt road to get here. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic sunset and sunrise—as well as a blanket of stars. Sleep comfortably in a queen-sized bed. The cabin is located next to BLM land and a wildlife corridor, which means you will witness these wild animals in their native habitat. The cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, lizards, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, coyotes, owls and roadrunners (and more!) that make the desert their home make a visit to this serene cabin all the more special.
This is rural desert wilderness. On the grid, but off the pavement.
  • Stephanie and Jay’s place was everything we dreamed it would be! Rustic-chic, minimalist, clean, comfortable, remote but not too isolated... we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. It’s also highly Instagrammable and a very peaceful respite from everyday life. A rare combo! The shops and restaurants of Joshua Tree (and the park itself) are just a short drive away. We loved it here and didn’t want to leave.

    Sarah2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay at the homestead. My husband and I have been road tripping around the southwest and we stayed one night at Stephanie & Jay’s place in between and it was peaceful and relaxing. Just what we needed. Lovely space. Very friendly & communicative hosts. Would recommend. A+

    Samantha2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Stephanie and Jay’s homesteader cabin was definitely the most unique and enjoyable Airbnb experience we have had. We paired our stay with a day of hiking at Joshua Tree National Park, but the surrounding landscape makes the cabin a perfect retreat in and of itself. It’s clear that the hosts care a great deal about the area and local flora and fauna, too. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

    Leopoldo2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to Joshua Tree National Park, this cabin provided the perfect "end of trip" celebration for us. The outdoor shower is an amazing place to watch the sunset and the cabin itself is adorable. We enjoyed watching the wildlife during our stay! Pro Trip: we found the cheapest firewood at Stater Bros Grocery Store! We would definitely love to stay again!

    Taylor2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, clean & welcoming space and stunning views! What more could you ask for? We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back soon!

    Lauren2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Just like the pictures, beautiful!

    Patrick2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful solo retreat at Stephanie and Jay's place. The cabin is secluded in a quiet area, but still with easy access to town. Super clean, minimal, basic – exactly what I was looking for. Jay was super helpful during check in and very communicative throughout the entire process. Would stay again, 10/10!

    Will2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! The cabin is absolutely amazing. We loved the peace and quiet, views and sunsets. The cabin had everything we needed to make breakfast and dinner each day, so we took advantage of that and relaxing on the porch at sunset. Directions were clear and location easy to find. The Joshua Tree entrance is 15 minutes. We picked up groceries in advance in Yucca. The hosts were easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Great stay!

We have a few dates that are becoming available from guests that are unable to travel to Oregon. Booking for AUG/SEP/OCT/NOV is Sunday, June 7th at 9 a.m. Pacific Daylight Saving Time. We usually have more available spaces late season. Sign up for our Booking Notification/Cancellation List by emailing summitprairie at the email of the world's most popular search engine (starts with a G). Our 2020 season runs Apr 2 - Nov 16. And please - please! - read the "Tips for Getting a Booking"!
BOOKING THE SUMMIT PRAIRIE DURING THE COVID-19 CRISIS... Several of our booked guests have contacted us asking us to please stay open so they have an opportunity to get away and relax in a relatively safe environment. We understand. We are trying to be socially responsible while at the same time meeting the wishes and needs of our guests. We really want to see you, but also to keep us all safe. At this point we do not plan to close unless we are ordered to by the state or county. Oregon Governor Brown's recent Executive Order 20-12 (dated 3/23/20) directing everyone in Oregon to stay at home to the maximum extent possible does not require us to close as long as appropriate social distancing can be maintained. Like all other businesses, we are taking extra measures to make sure the spaces are as clean and safe as possible, paying special attention to surfaces most frequently touched. Obviously we can't guarantee anything, but we are doing all we can to reduce the risk to you as well as to ourselves. We have only 2 reservations per week. No one else but the two of us will be here during your stay. And we live in our Summer House about 500 feet away from the lookout. If you do decide to come, please plan on staying here during your entire visit. That’s not a bad thing. There are plenty of things to do here - hiking, soaking in the hot tub, watching the deer in the meadow, and there are lots of games and books on the shelves of the lookout. Simply being quiet and apart from the hurt of the world right now is worth it. If you do decide to cancel, we will fully refund anyone, at any time, regardless of the reason, no questions asked. Should you decide to cancel, we would of course prefer that you do that sooner rather than later but we realize that isn't always possible. Also, if you're not feeling well, please cancel, even if it is last minute - we totally understand! We respect your decisions. And look forward to hosting you at Summit Prairie. 2020 SEASON BOOKING INFORMATION Our prices will remain the same as they have for the last 4 seasons. However, we will be moving to a 4 NIGHT MINIMUM - check in Thursday, check out Monday and a 3 NIGHT MINIMUM - check in Monday, check out Thursday. Check in/check out days will be Mondays and Thursdays only and we will not have any 2 or 1 night stays. We can only take about 60 reservations per year and there will be hundreds of guests trying to get a booking when we open the calendar. We allow our previous guests priority booking each year and they usually book about the half the season and almost all of the weekends prior to opening our calendar to the general public. You can Like the Summit Prairie on that site where you Like things, follow us on Insta or visit the summitprairie website for the latest updates. TIPS FOR GETTING A BOOKING 1. Make sure your Airbnb profile is filled out completely including a clear photograph of yourself, your government ID, what city you are from and a little bit about yourself. Our intention is not to discriminate against anyone but when we see an incomplete profile we feel like a guest is trying to hide something. We've had guests that were able to secure dates only to lose them before confirmation because they didn't have their profile completed. That is an Airbnb requirement, we're not in control of that. 2. Have all of your credit card information completed on your profile. Booking will happen very quickly and you will not have time to add credit card information when the calendar opens. 3. Early season 2020 (April through July) is completely booked but late season (August through November) booking will be June 7th, 2020 at 9 a.m. Pacific Daylight Saving Time - we usually have more available dates in late season because we have fewer large events pre-booked here. We will book our 4 night stays (Thursday through Monday) at 9:00 a.m. and our 3 night stays (Monday through Thursday) at 9:30 a.m. Check back here for updates or visit the summitprairie website and sign-up for our Booking Notification List. 4. Refresh your browser frequently. The entire booking window will last less than 10 minutes. Don't worry about sending us a message when you send us your booking request - someone else will grab the dates while you're typing your message! After the calendar appears full, continue to check back every few minutes during the first hour - guests frequently get overly excited when booking and dates that appear to have been booked end up opening up again. We will announce on the site when all dates are filled and booking is completed. 5. Be flexible on your dates. Most of the weekend dates and summer mid-week will already have been booked by our previous guests so most of the dates available will be early season (April/May) or late season (October/November). 6. Once you book your dates, you won't be able to change them as we will be completely booked for the season. You also will not be able to change the number of nights but you can cancel your reservation and if we're able to rebook the dates, we will give you a 90% refund (this is less strict than the Airbnb strict cancellation policy of 50% refund up to 2 weeks prior to arrival and no refund 1 week prior to arrival). 7. If you're unable to get a booking, visit the summitprairie website and click on Booking Information. Or send an email to summitprairie at the email of the world's most popular search engine (starts with a G) and we'll add you to our Cancellation Notification List. We usually get 5 to 6 cancellations during the season and the sooner you get on the list, the more chances you will get to book. 8. Finally, we do know that it is a complete hassle to book with us so we are extremely appreciative of you guys that stick with us through this process!! Thanks and we look forward to seeing you someday at the Summit Prairie! ---------------------------------------------------- Missing peace and quiet? Wishing for space to relax and renew? Here is your chance! Off the grid, atop a 40-acre meadow on 160 acres of private land. Surrounded by the Umpqua National Forest in Douglas County, Oregon. Welcome to Summit Prairie! Hear the wind give voice to the trees at the edge of the meadow. Listen to the birds calling in the valley below. Let the peace you feel here…. stay with you. Your hosts, Alan and Dabney, will welcome you, help carry your things up the four flights of stairs, and orient you to all the wonders of this place, then leave you in peace so you can enjoy. Built in Two Thousand Nine, the lookout tower is modeled after Fire Lookout Towers built by the US Forest Service in the early Nineteen Hundreds. However, it's enhanced with modern essentials: a full kitchen featuring hot and cold running water, propane stove, refrigerator, heater and lamps, exterior shower, comfortable beds in the cupola and main floor with windows all around to let in summer breezes and breath-taking views. And while simply chilling at Summit Prairie is oh-so-fine, think of this place also as a launch point for day trips to Crater Lake (2 hours), or Ashland, site of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (1.5 hours), or historic Jacksonville, site of the annual Britt Festival (1.5 hours), Rogue River Rafting (45 minutes), the South Umpqua Falls (45 minutes) or the Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville (1 hour). Imagine! Kick back and relax, read a book, play a game (or three)… write in a journal, meditate… daydream in the hammocks down the hill… soak your cares away and relax in a secluded wood-fired, spring-fed hot tub… Even dance under the moon or sing to the stars. Memories are made here. Come to Summit Prairie...
Enjoy 160 acres of pure, private bliss. Surrounded by the Umpqua National Forest, you'll awaken each morning only to the sound of birds calling in the trees or bees humming about their business in the meadow. In the evening be amazed at the sunsets, and then as the dusk settles into darkness, exhaust your ability to count all the stars that light up the sky.
  • I’ve been delaying this much needed review simply because I’m so overwhelmed by the place and don’t even know where to begin. No review will do Dabney and Alan’s place justice. It’s just impossible. Every part of staying here was remarkable. Getting to the summit is an adventure (and part of the fun) and so long as you follow instructions, it should be pretty easy. Once you arrive, the view will blow you away. Nothing can prepare you for the absolute beauty, peace, and quiet that this space offers. It is everything we wanted and then some. Dabney and Alan are among the best hosts anyone could ask for. Kind, generous, professional... they are without a doubt 100% of the summit experience and I only wish we could’ve spent some more time with them. Thank you to both gentlemen for letting my girlfriend and I stay here. Summit Prairie will forever be embedded in our memories as a spectacular experience.

    Emil2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • I 100% recommend Alan and Dabneys place! Everything was well thought out, including directions, recommendations for activities, and the initial walk through. I won't forget driving up and seeing Dabney wave from the top of the look out. Its an iconic scene. We never had any questions because they were very thorough. There was literally nothing more we could have asked for. As long as you bring enough food, and it's well planned, you'll be fine. I also recommend spending a full day in the cabin, to get the full effect. We happened to catch some poor weather, with only a few moments to catch the gorgeous view but we made the most of eerie fog and rain. Having no inclination to leave the look out due to weather, it was quite possibly the most relaxing trip we've ever taken. Staying in the look out for 2 days, there was plenty to keep us entertained. My only regret is not signing the guest book. Thank you so much Dabney!

    Danyel2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Summit Prairie is amazing! When you drive up to the tower and see it for the first time it is breathtaking! Dabney was waiting for us at the top of the tower with a friendly wave to walk us through our stay and answer any questions we might have. They had everything we needed for a long weekend stay, and great local tips on things to see as well! Cannot reccomend it enough.

  • Well worth the wait! We finally got to reserve a one night stay here and it was everything we imagined and more. The perfect place to reset your mind and relax with the ones you love. The tranquility of it all is really something that has to be experienced and taken in!

  • Such a great spot! The hosts are very helpful and everything was clean, neat, and beautiful.

    Victoria2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin! Due to COVID-19 closing down all of Asheville, we had no problem staying in the cabin for 2 days straight cooking and relaxing. Boiling water and pouring it into the solar shower was fun, but definitely wouldn’t want to do it everyday! It’s super easy to adjust the temperature using the propane heater and opening the door.

    Nick2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • In times of chaos this is the perfect off grid spot. By far my coolest vacation. It’s camping, but with a little wood cabin over your head. Cozy and isolated. Has everything you need if you’re the type to wanna connect with nature. Loved it!

    Catika2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredible getaway into the Pisgah Forest! The surrounding landscape is beautiful and the cabin was the perfect home base for some excursions along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin was clean, the perfect size for two people, and easy to use. Being off the grid felt great and was explained really well by Haley, who does a wonderful job explaining everything and being a community resource. I hope to come back soon!

    Samantha2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome time at the Cabin! It was super clean and cozy. Additionally, it’s proximity to Downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway was perfect for splitting time between the hiking and exploring the downtown food and brewery scene. We came at the tail end of the winter so it was a bit chilly, but the cabin heated up quickly so it was never uncomfortable. Would definitely want to come back and experience it in the warmer months as well!

    Carolyn2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Super cool spot!!

    Sophia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views and very quiet! The cabin was very clean and cozy, just make sure to bring an extra blanket if you go during winter months since it gets chilly up on the hill, but otherwise awesome!

    Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful.
Corona virus COVID-19 note: rest assured our studio apartment is thoroughly disinfected and all items are re-washed and dried w/ high heat in between each reservation. A peaceful retreat awaits you in the trees just outside of West Asheville's "locals" downtown! Walkable to Haywood Rd and all our excellent neighborhood restaurants, art and yoga studios, farmers market and pubs. Note: Our house is in a dense suburban residential neighborhood and not outside of town. We have neighbors on all sides but we are lucky that our house is in an urban forest that affords privacy. The studio apartment is below the main house which has its own entrance and outdoor space. Our family lives above and we are very respectful of your privacy. The studio is SMALL one room space (12x15) but well equipped with a hot plate, under counter fridge, small table and 2 chairs and a queen size bed. You have your own small bathroom with 3x3 shower and toilet. Bathroom sink is in kitchenette. A laundry room is right next door and is also available. If you are looking for an unique space that is peaceful and quiet but part of a vibrant creative community you will enjoy staying with us and we will enjoy hosting you!
West Asheville is the best! Quiet and neighborly, it's not like downtown Asheville with hotels and so many tourists but you can get there or the parkway or the Biltmore very quickly by car. Downtown, five minutes, everywhere else, ten minutes. We have our own downtown in West Asheville and there's many excellent restaurants and music venues within walking or biking distance.
  • Cute room and area! Did not expect it to be a shared house, description was a bit deceptive. It was too pricey for one room.

  • Jakub and Maria's spot is one of the most beautiful air bnb's I have ever stayed in!!! It was private and cozy, yet a short walk to some hip coffee shops and great breakfast spots, and we loved waking up to a beautiful view of the trees. Absolutely wonderful experience.

    Rebecca2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jakub & Maria’s place is truly a sanctuary. It is such a cozy comforting space surrounded by nature within a little neighborhood. When you use the 2 screen doors it feels like a porch. It’s a quiet location but you’re just blocks from bustling Haywood. Jakub & Maria respond promptly and provided great recommendations for food and hiking. The bed is comfortable and the outdoor seating options are lovely. It’s a very welcoming environment. Highly recommend!

    준보2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Vince's place was a great jumping off point to explore outer LA, including Hollywood, the quirky character of Ventura Blvd, the Getty, etc. We really enjoyed the large backyard with pool and open feel, plus walking proximity to Trader Joe's, Ralphs, and a shopping mall. Vince left many thoughtful touches, including snacks, new light slippers for the concrete floors, and plenty of bathroom amenities.

    Katie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful house and in a perfect location with many places nearby to access! It was clean and private and I had a great time. Vince was very helpful and easy to reach. I definitely plan on coming back here!

    Diana2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very well arranged and got all that we needed and more. Vince went above and beyond to provide a warm & comfy home, and even prepared stuff to accommodate our baby. We were surprised to find a kitchen packed with drinks and snacks. We had a great stay here and will come back when we have the chance.

Prepare to be charmed by the exposed brickwork and quirky decor of this lovely historic home that once sheltered horses in the late 1800s. It's been featured in Architectural Digest online as Colorado's most unique and beautiful Airbnb property.
Privacy tucked in the back garden of a Second Empire home in Denver's oldest neighborhood. 1/2 block to light-rail and near to B-Cycle (public bikes). Walking distance to local craft breweries and restaurants on Welton and Larimer. Street parking. Sleeps two comfortably in a queen-size bed, but one more guest can sleep on the leather futon in the living room (linens provided)
Denver's oldest neighborhood is picture-perfect. It's nestled between Welton Street and hip RiNo, with its craft breweries and restaurants. It's about one mile to Denver's 16th Street Mall and one block from Curtis Park with its public outdoor pool.
  • It was truly a great experience and I recommend anyone who’s looking at this to really keep this place in mind. It was a superb experience with a even better host!

My spacious two-bedroom home has everything you need for your NYC trip. On the first floor, but set above street level, I am offering two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen with a dining/living area, plus ROKU tv, WIFI, and washer/dryer. While Brooklyn is very large, I am walking distance to several major train/bus routes that run into Manhattan for all the popular sites: Freedom Tower, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Times Square. There is so much culture and excitement to be experienced!
Both bedrooms are very quiet, as they are located in the rear of the house. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the second bedroom has a twin size bed. The new bathroom has a large shower, but no tub, with strong water pressure. The kitchen/living/dining area are set in an open plan setup. French doors that open to a sunroom separate open plan kitchen/dining/living area. The sunroom is shared with me who has my own entrance. It is stocked with many types of plants to create a truly alive and lush area. Cats and one dog have and continue to live on this site. They live with the host an do sit in the shared sunrooms. No matter how much preparation, if you are sensitive to pets this place is probably isn't the best choice.
The Highland Park section of East New York has a very suburban feel. I am very close to Upper Highland Park which sits on the highest elevation of Brooklyn. It has a more 'open' feel. But, like the suburbs the evenings are very quiet.
  • Perfect apartment with a nice and fresh bathroom and kitchen! Would totally recommend.

Come enjoy seclusion and mountain views in this sweet little off grid cabin tucked back in the woods of our 125 acre private gated mountain top escape near Pisgah National Forest. Hike 150 yards down a flat gravel road to get to the cabin for a retreat from your normal day to day life. Disconnect and enjoy the mountain view, nature and solitude. Bring your dogs. Bring a book and lounge in the hammock. Enjoy the simpler things.
DUE TO THE NEW COVID 19 COUNTY REGULATIONS: APRIL IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR LONGER TERM ISOLATION STAYS. This off grid cabin is located on 125 acres of private land that is gated and backs up to Pisgah National Forest. It is 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway and to the top of Mount Pisgah. It is close to all of our favorite hiking spots and swimming holes on the Blue Ridge Parkway! An easy 25 minute drive to Asheville and all of it's amazing food and breweries. The cabin is 100% off the grid: that means solar panels for limited electricity needs, propane heaters help keep the cabin cozy during the winter, and an outdoor shower area. Bring your own bedding and towels. Enjoy our 3 burner propane cook top for cooking, granite countertops, a sink with a water dispenser for drinking water, board games and a very comfortable queen size bed. Lounge in the giant hammock under the trees. We provide a solar shower (5 gallon camping shower bag) that can be heated in the sun and used year around (mind you the shower is outside so plan accordingly with weather). In the summer months we have a heated rain water collection shower that we try to keep up and running. It is temperamental so we keep the solar shower as our primary shower and consider it a bonus if the rain water shower is functioning! We also provide a list of other places to shower if you are staying for a longer period of time and crave a long shower or it is too cold t shower outdoors. The cabin has mountain views through the trees and is tucked back in the woods on a flat gravel road that you will have to walk on to get to the house. You will stop and park near the out house. We provide a wagon to help get your things to the cabin. The outhouse is about 150 yards from the cabin with floor to ceiling glass windows looking out through the tree tops...definitely the best view you have ever seen from an outhouse! The outhouse is cleaned out weekly on Mondays sometime between 8-11 am by a service truck. Our Goal Zero solar generator provides limited electricity to run the solar lights inside the cabin. If it has been cloudy, then the solar generator may not get charged enough to run the lights. We try to keep lanterns and flashlights around as back ups...but it's best if you bring along your own incase the solar generator runs out of power. We do have a back up solar generator that we keep charged in case it stays cloudy for days so please let us know if you need it. During the winter, the space is heated with a propane heater and can stay pretty warm. If they are calling for below freezing temperatures, I would recommend bringing extra blankets or warm sleeping bags. Bring some wood and make s'mores in our fire pit! Bring a cooler for your perishables since we do not have a fridge. We love all dogs of any size and welcome them to come on vacation with you! They will need to be left in crates if left indoors while you are out adventuring in town. We prefer they don't get on our furniture. Bring dog beds along for them. We are happy to be able to provide a dog friendly space since we too are dog owners and lovers....we just request you clean up after them, relocate their poops to the woods, and be sure to sweep up their extra dog hair before you leave.
Our mountain top escape is at the foot of Mount Pisgah and backs up to Pisgah National Forest. The roads are steep, but amazingly paved and engineered. This property was originally intended to be a housing development, but we have purchased it and put it into a Forestry Management Program with EcoForesters. Future plans include a trail system. We have one other Airbnb on this property but they are very far away from each other.
  • Cannot recommend highly enough! A beautiful cabin in the perfect location - secluded while also close to Asheville and plenty of things to do. Laying in the hammock looking at the stars was our favorite part, although it was hard to choose!

    Devon2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I were blown away by this place! It was so cool and Haley clearly put a lot of thought into it. The directions to get there were very well explained and everything was so clean. We loved that we were able to bring our dog with us. She loved our relaxing weekend get away just as much as we did!

    Levi2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this space and the openness. Enjoyed relaxing on the hammock and on the front porch. Will definitely be back in the future!

Cozy tiny cabin nestled in the mountains with amazing views! The large picture window offers a majestic mountain view all year long. 420 friendly private outdoor courtyard with waterfall & twinkle lights. Access to hot tub. Micro kitchen has fully stocked coffee bar, toaster oven, induction cooktop and mini fridge. Light breakfast snacks provided. The luxurious memory foam pillow top mattress is unbeatable. Artisan locally sourced wildfire stump sink in bathroom. Located 2.4 miles from 285.
We invite you to share our little piece of mountain serenity with us. My family lives in a log cabin right next to our tiny house. The tiny house is located down a set of stairs. Please be prepared to use stairs if you stay with us. The hot tub shares a deck with our house but is yours to use exclusively for the duration of your visit. Guests have a designated parking spot with a painted sign and a private courtyard with a small waterfall feature and outdoor string lights for a relaxing intimate outdoor meal and/or smoking. All smoking (420 included) is allowed outside only. In our snow season, 4 wheel drive vehicle (or other winter ready type of vehicle) is sometimes necessary. (Generally, for our location, it is only necessary during or following winter storms.) Colorado implements "Passenger Vehicle Traction & Chain Laws" during winter storms for Hwy 285, which is the highway necessary to drive on in order to get to the cabin. So it is best to plan ahead and have the required type of vehicle reserved if you plan to visit during the winter months. The laws are put in place for the safety of all drivers on the roads. Please visit the cdot site for details on the requirements by law for passenger vehicles, including rental cars. FYI: recently, the I-70 mountain roads now have an all-time traction law 9 months out of the year, even if there is not a current winter storm in effect. If you plan to drive into the mountains on I-70 at all, you are required to rent a 4wd, all wheel drive vehicle, or 2wd with snow or mud/snow tires. Kitchenette includes: mini fridge (no freezer), small toaster oven, Keurig coffee maker, induction cook top with pan/lid/spatula, plates and utensils, bowls, cups/glasses, wine bottle opener, and a cutting board. We also provide cooking oils and salt/pepper. There is a sink in the kitchen as well. Dish soap and a scrub brush are also provided. We include kitchen towels but no paper towels or napkins as we try to be as eco conscious as possible. As with most mountain homes, our tiny cabin does not have forced air conditioning. However, it usually gets quite cool in the evening in the summertime so open windows and the ceiling fan do the job of keeping you cool! (Of course, I can't promise cool evenings; I can just let you know what's typical for our area.) I have a family member with severe pet allergies, so I cannot allow any pets on our property. Because the outdoor space is shared and my home is also used for cleaning linens and other items from the cabin (so, also a "shared" space), we cannot allow ANY pets on our property due to these severe family allergies. There can be no exceptions to this rule as this would be detrimental to the health and safety of my family. Thank you for understanding that there can be absolutely no exceptions to this rule.
Our place is located in a small rustic mountain neighborhood. It was a mining community back in the 1920s. We have some close neighbors, but they keep to themselves. Our neighbors are very particular about everyone driving slow on our dirt roads as they are not county maintained, so please follow the 10 mph speed limit signs. Watch for children at play, wildlife, and ATV/UTV travel on the dirt roads. Things to do nearby: Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a rock structure near Morrison, Colorado, 10 miles west of Denver, where concerts are given in the open-air amphitheatre. Did you know: Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a geological phenomenon - the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheatre in the world. Staunton State Park - 12102 S Elk Creek Rd, Pine, CO Staunton State Park is a mosaic of low grasslands, rocky foothills, soaring granite cliffs, and lush stream corridors. Check-in was a breeze and everything is clearly labeled. The local tips were amazing and everything needed for the trip was a quick drive away. Bekah was amazing and willing to help with anything we needed within reason. I could not recommend staying here enough!

The only Corona on our ships is in your yeti cooler (provided)! Welcome aboard Pirate's Life! 1 of 6 stay-aboard rentals we offer. To view all of our boats click on my Airbnb profile. Featured on ‘Tiny House Hunters’ & dubbed “Charleston’s Best Airbnb Experience” Pirate's Life was gutted & rebuilt using reclaimed materials, sweat, & love. You'll find her spacious, tranquil, & comfortable. Enjoy morning coffee with dolphins (guaranteed...ish) & evening cocktails overlooking Charleston harbor.
Featured on FYI Network's Tiny House Hunters! Very spacious houseboat with a vaulted ceiling in the main cabin (living room). Sleeps 3 comfortably. Lots of room to move around with a queen size bed in the Captain's Quarters (Bedroom) and a twin bed in the living room that's a day bed. FAQ: Q: Location? A: Mid-Peninsula Downtown Charleston which is roughly 1.5 - 2 miles to the heart of the historic district. A five minute / $6 Uber away or take the bikes! The boats are located downtown in a private marina where our 5-6 boats are slipped & only shared with a large mega-yacht that rents the outside slippage 5 months out of the year. We rent this slippage from Seabreeze Dry Stack Marina (49 Immigration Street). This accommodation is for people looking for peace and tranquility as the setting of the marina is quiet and secluded. You'll have a stunning view of Charleston Harbor and the Ravenel Bridge. Q: How can I see all of your boats for rent? A: Click on our Airbnb profile (the round photo) & scroll all the way to the bottom below the aggregated reviews (on Mobile) or look to the left (on Desktop). You’ll see all of our listings - or check them out by clicking the link below: Listing Page: https://www.airbnb.com/users/1918595/listings Q: 1 Night Reservations? A: You can instant book a 1 night rental if it’s the same day as your reservation OR if you see on our calendar that your date fills a 1 night gap. We kindly ask do not instant book for 1 night reservations if your desired date doesn’t fit that criteria - especially on the weekend. We handle 1 night reservations on a case-by-case basis depending on availability but can almost always make it work. We will respond to an inquiry within minutes most times, most of the time immediately. Q: Is it comfortable? A: VERY! Our boats are designed with live-aboard / stay-aboard in mind with all the creature comforts of home. Fully stocked kitchens, premium furnishings, updated HVAC, TV, Keurig coffee makers… etc. Q: Any restaurants close by? A: TONS! Some of Charleston’s best are within a mile of the marina. Q: How to book: A: If you don’t have any questions after reading over the FAQ below then simple instant book. If you send an inquiry we’ll respond promptly, if not immediately. Q: Why is the price so different for my dates? A: Airbnb automatically sets our prices based on demand & seasonality. If you don’t search with exact dates Airbnb shows the lowest price throughout the season. Prices range from $99 per night for weekday day-of bookings in January all the way to $499 per night for weekends during peak season summer and everywhere in-between. Q: Bathroom… explain! A: The boat is equipped with an apartment sized (12 gallon) water heater ensuring you get hot water throughout the boat. You'll always have enough hot water to enjoy a 10 - 15 minute shower. The boat has a full sized marine toilet that is easy to use as long as you follow our simple instructions. Q: Heat? Air Conditioning? A: Our boats are equipped with BOTH ample Heat & Air Conditioning. No matter the time of year you can be assured that you will be staying in a climate controlled & comfortable environment. Q: Can we take the boats out & drive them? A: No. We don’t carry any insurance for bareboat charters but we do offer captained Charters on specific boats which are really fun! Charters include sightseeing in Downtown harbor, sunset cruises, full hay & ½ day cruises, special moments like engagements, or anything else you can think of. All charter requests are handled via inquiry & paid through Airbnb as part of your stay. Q: Can I check-in earlier than 4 or Checkout later than 10? A: We will do our best. Most days there’s someone checking in the same day there’s a checkout but we try & go above and beyond if this is requested. Q: Can we fish from the dock or boats? A: Absolutely! We ask that you fish either from the side or front of the vessel & stay clear of the props so your line doesn’t get prop/shaft wrapped. Fishing from the dock is also allowed as long as you mind the props of the vessels. You can easily get a fishing license from the DNR online. We operate on the honor system & don’t check for licenses but ask that you support the local DNR & pay the small fee to make it legal. We don’t supply fishing equipment & keep in mind there are no tackle shops in Downtown Charleston. Shrimp from the local Q: What to expect that's different than a hotel? A: It's a boat, it is a unique FUN experience. There may be noises and smells that you'd expect from a boat. Pumps, motors, ocean water, etc. Every boat is broken the day it hits the water, especially salt water. We take great care of our fleet but we expect guests to tell us if anything isn’t working properly & we will PROMPTLY respond & repair. Q: Waves? A: The marina has a sea wall which dilutes any waves. We are also lucky enough to be tucked behind Drum Island at the base of the Ravenel Bridge. which dilutes almost all the waves from the harbor. There is still a small amount of wave action and you'll feel a slight rock from time-to-time, mostly from boats passing by who don’t respect the no wake zone (feel free to yell at them & shake your first while doing so). If there's a bad storm or the wave action gets to a point that your stay is no longer enjoyable, we will do our best (no guarantees) to work out alternative accommodations for you as we have multiple condos Downtown for landlubbers. Your comfort is our top priority. 99% of the time the marina is almost totally flat and calm. We also keep dramamine on the dock incase anyone experiences sea sickness. Q: Will you reduce your price? A: No(ISH)... Maybe, but unlikely. Don’t expect a price reduction unless it’s the slow season & you’re messaging about days within 1-4 days of check-in or you’re looking for a long-term stay in the off season (see next “Q”). If you message us with a booking that somewhat fits the criteria above & tell us a budget we can try & work with you on one of our 6 boats. “Will you reduce the price of a weekend booking a month away” will always be a “no”. Q: Do you do long-term or monthly rentals? A: We have done long term rentals in the past. From March 1 - October 30 the boats are rented at a 90% occupancy rate so the monthly rate is only slightly reduced compared to the daily rate (around 20%). From November through February we’re much more flexible depending on length of stay & which vessel you’re interested in. It helps us to know your budget and we can tell you if we have anything that could work. Q: Smoking? A: On the outside only & please be responsible. Kindly don’t light the boat on fire. Q: Do you allow pets? A: You bet! We ask that dogs not be puppies, don’t scratch at doors, and don’t bark incessantly while you’re away. The boats are close together & a non-stop barking dog isn’t appreciated. We DEEP clean the boats after pets stay aboard due to future guests’ possible allergies so a $75 pet fee is applied for those who travel with pets. If you have a service dog & try to circumvent the pet fee be prepared to present FULL documentation. Q: Can we hold events or parties? A: No. This is a place to relax. We ask that there be no events or parties on the boats so the other guests can enjoy their stay. Q: You charge extra for more than 2 adults, do my kids count? A: Any child over the age of 13 is considered an adult & needs to be represented in the booking inquiry as an additional guest. Q: Is the marina safe? A: VERY. We have 24/7 surveillance & in the 3 years we’ve been here we’ve never had any sort of issue. We share an entrance with the port authority which has a 24/7 guarded gate. You turn into the marina before the guarded gate but it scares off any would-be pests. The parking lot & dock is well lit & the marina is right off East Bay which is one of the main roads in Downtown Charleston. All boats lock from inside & you can padlock the door when you leave if you wish to lock up your belongings. The marina is only us & we’re here daily looking over the fleet. Q: Handicap accessible? A: No. You'll need to get on the boat which requires a 1-2' step and there are steps on the boat. The deck stairs are steep and you'll need to be sure footed. Q: Parking? A: Yes, you can park your car. Since it’s a small private marina the walk to the parking lot from the boat is only roughly 50-70 yards. Q: Can I trailer my small boat & side-tie it to the boat I rented? A: You can bring your boat but it must be arranged with the marina & there’s nowhere to park a trailer. There’s also nowhere close by to slip the boat so do your research on boat landings. The marina will charge you small fee (roughly $40 - $60 nightly) to wet-slip the boat. Q: Space & Comfort? A: You'll find the layout of the boat extremely spacious and comfortable. The bed is a Queen (ish) size. Queen with slight modifications to fit the space. The shower is tall and comfortable for anyone 6’4” & under. Q: I have a non-profit, will you donate a free stay to my gala? A: I’m sure your cause is worthy, but we get this request far too often so we must decline. Q: I’m a blogger / photographer / ninja trainer… will you barter? A: No. Please don’t ask. We don’t pay our slip rent with your blog posts. Q: Will you partner with my local company or buy my advertising? A: We get penalized through Airbnb if we don’t respond to all inquiries which means we must respond to your spam. You won’t like our message so don’t send it. Q: Will this be the best vacation I’ve ever had and should I book now? A: Without a doubt.
Extremely safe and private marina in downtown Charleston. The entrance to the marina is shared with the Port Authority which has a 24/7 guard. There is a train which blocks the road to the marina leading into the port authority but it only comes 1-2X per day. Sometimes it can block the roadway for up to 20 minutes but that is infrequent.

This is the life! The Dixie Daisy provides all the comforts of home in one cute, cozy package. The antique iron bedframe holds a queen mattress, the bathroom has a small interior shower and a real toilet, the kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and utensils, and alongside the deck is a charcoal grill and fire bowl for your night-time fire. The owners really go out of their way to add those special touches to make your trip complete, such as leaving fresh eggs in the fridge (as long as the chickens keep up) and local organic coffee. They also strive to make this property as green as possible by using environmentally friendly dish soap and laundry detergent, providing recycled paper products and full recycling, using low-wattage light bulbs, and more. This cozy retreat is nestled in an elm grove along the banks of Smith Creek on 10 beautiful acres shared with the owners. Pets must be declared to the owners in advance, preferably at the time of booking. We ask that if dogs are left unattended that they be crated and that they remain on leash when wandering the property if they might be inclined to chase a child, cat, or chicken or wander off. Thanks for understanding! Single night bookings: We have a two night minimum, but when there is a single night gap in the schedule we are happy to accept a single night booking for an additional $25. Just shoot us a message with your date and we'll go from there.
Wimberley is a lovely little town full of unique shops, swimming holes, and friendly folks. We think you'll love your visit here!
  • A beautiful little haven in Wimberley! Super cute and retro feeling. The inside reminded us of a Texas-style yellow submarine. Even though it rained, we enjoyed every moment of Dixie Daisy and the serene land it's on. You can hear cars pass by on the road but we didn't really mind it. Two nights went by incredibly fast..we'd love to stay here again in the future

  • Staying in the Treehouse was one of the best getaways we’ve ever had! So quaint and special. The hosts have truly thought of every little thing. We loved everything about the experience and will recommend it to everyone!

    Gia2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • It’s amazing! Very clean. It’s just such a darling little retreat. There are so many sweet little details that make this treehouse extra special. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we would have stayed longer!

    Angie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • I don't know where to begin! I scheduled a trip to the treehouse as a surprise for my husband. When we arrived it was lit up beautifully as we walked down the gravel pathway to the treehouse. The interior was even more stunning than the exterior touches (and that's hard to beat!). The fireplace inside the treehouse kept us warm and enhanced the romantic feeling you get when staying there. We were able to experience the snow from the treehouse and it was magical to see it falling from the wall of windows. We couldn't get out into town because of the weather Saturday. We heard a knock at the door and it was our host, she brought snacks and drinks for us for the afternoon and that evening she brought an entire crockpot of fantastic tortellini soup to our doorstep so we would have something to eat! The treehouse itself is a wonderful experience, but the hospitality shown to us is immeasurable. It was truly a one of a kind experience. ♥️

    Laura2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest get away there is! They have thought of everything you could possibly need for a little time away. The space is so quaint and cozy. You can hang out and play board games and just recharge. Disconnect from the world and connect with your loved one! Great hiking spots very close. We LOVED everything about this space! So unique. I can’t say enough great things! Awesome to work with and the most hospitable!

    Rachel2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Treehouse is simply a magical little space. Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful time. It was easy to get there, there were lots of tips and communication before the stay and as you get to the treehouse. We also went to a local restaurant at night (Paesano's) and it was lovely. We stayed during the winter time in January, and even took a shower outside during the warmest part of the day. It was a lot of fun and not as bad as you might think. We also learned how to play "shut the box" and got to just relax and enjoy our being there.

Thank you again we had a great stay

  • Michael’s place is centrally located to a lot of Harlem attractions such as Apollo Theater & Jazz History Museum. Lots of great restaurants and shopping. It’s a super cute space and I’d definitely book it again. The subway and buses were a short walk from the loft. Micheal also provided snacks and drinks which came in handy!

Rates vary per season & day of week -- please enter dates in calendar for pricing, rate as shown on listing is base rate! PLEASE READ ENTIRE DETAILS/LISTING BEFORE MESSAGING.
Hello! Welcome! Please read my entire listing before messaging, as I have comprehensive coverage for most all questions! Additionally, I do adhere to all of my rules & guidelines! No exceptions! Rules are: 2 guest maximum, no pets, no children of any age, no self check in, no visitors during your stay, etc.. The AirBnB app does not show what I do not allow, only what I do! Please check this listing on a desktop computer, so you understand what I do allow/do not allow before messaging. No parties/events/weddings on my property. HOME DETAILS: Come relax up in Topanga & get away! 1 Bedroom Guest House located in the Heart of the canyon for nightly & weekly rentals! The entire property has waterfalls, ponds & a tropical themed environment. The guest house has 1 queen sized bed & can accommodate a maximum of two guests comfortably. There is also a kitchenette with mini fridge, stovetop, complete with coffee maker & filters, dishes/pots/pans & washer/dryer on site (the washer/dryer is for stays of 5+ days). Unit does not have A/C, but has ceiling fans in the bedroom, along with sliding glass & screen doors in each room allowing for ventilation. PARKING: 1 carport parking spot is available, along with extra parking along the road. The road is paved, but has no sidewalks alongside. CELL PHONE & INTERNET: Wireless internet is available, along with a cell signal booster. Reception can be spotty up in the mountains, and is not guaranteed; although most all guests have not had issues. NEIGHBORHOOD: Topanga is a charming, countryside neighborhood adjacent to Los Angeles & very safe. I've lived here for over 30 years, and never had any issues. COMMUTE: My house is about 15 minutes drive from Santa Monica, 20 minutes from Malibu & 15 minutes to Woodland Hills, 30 minutes to LAX. Without traffic, I'm about 35 minutes from Hollywood, 40 minutes from downtown, 25 minutes to West Los Angeles/Culver City. To get a better idea of commute, I'm central in Topanga, so if you check a map for Topanga, CA & get directions from there, you'll be able to estimate distances. ARE THERE ANIMALS ON THE PROPERTY? No. I do not allow any animals in the guest house, nor are there any on the property (for allergy & personal health needs, I cannot allow animals on the property). For those who need petsitting: LADogma is a great local option where dogs stay comfortably in a home in Topanga. Just look up "LADogma" for more info. IS THIS A FAMILY RENTAL? My rental is Adults Only - No children of any age allowed (including infants)! Due to a unique property structure, with many stone stairways, ponds, firepit, size of guest house, etc., I remain firm on my policy of (2) adult guests maximum per stay. Many families try to message me asking for an exception; but I do remain firm on this rule, due to liability & safety concerns. I'm happy to host just parents for a romantic getaway, though! ACCESSIBILITY: There are several long flights of stone steps leading up to the guesthouse. This shouldn't be a problem for most people (and i'm happy to help with luggage), but if you have trouble with stairs, this may not be the place for you. I've had multiple pregnant women manage the stairs late in their term, but these stairs may also be a concern for pregnant women on bed rest. SENSITIVE? Sheets are 100% cotton, 600 thread count - I use all natural laundry detergents, for those of you with allergy concerns! I also provide organic soaps, all cotton towels & robes. Please do let me know if you have allergies though, so I can be extra scent-sitive! SURFING? If you'd like this to be a surf getaway, I'm happy to loan you one of my boards with your security deposit acting as collateral! I have kayaks & stand-up paddle boards available for use - but note that you'll need a truck or SUV to get them down to the beach (I don't allow guests to tie the boards to a standard car, even with a roof rack - I don't want my boards to be damaged). I've been surfing & diving for many years locally, and would be happy to give you some pointers on location, etc.. PHOTOGRAPHER? If you are a photographer looking to use my property as a location for a shoot, please note that I don't include shoots as part of a "package" deal when staying at the guest house. If you try to sneak a shoot on my property, this will result in a negative rating, possible immediate ejection from my property and/or loss of security deposit! Please mention any relevant photography in your message, as I would require that we arrange a shoot outside of AirBnB. I use my properties as locations, so a location fee would be required, along with standard insurance, etc.. If you'd like to take a few casual snapshots on my property for strictly personal use, that's fine.
FUN FACT: As featured in Cody Simpson's music video, "Love." (URL HIDDEN) LOCAL POINTS OF INTEREST: AirBnB does a great job of covering Topanga! Check out their location guide here: https://www.airbnb.com/locations/los-angeles/topanga Topanga State Beach is an 8 minute drive & Topanga State Park is about a 5 minute drive. In Topanga, there are many hiking trails, some with eight thousand year-old Indian caves & waterfalls. Mimosa Cafe is the village coffee shop, which is a 10 minute hike down the hill. Just across the way from Mimosa, there is a natural foods store & a little mini market. Santa Monica & Malibu are a beautiful 15 minute drive along Pacific Coast Highway. Suggested local restaurants would be Inn of the Seventh Ray, Froggy's & Cholada Thai food. Great restaurants in Malibu are Geoffrey's, Nobu Sushi & Cafe Habana. The closest large grocery store is a Von's Market, located on Sunset Blvd. There's also a natural foods market & deli in Malibu, named PC Greens. Additionally, a local raw smoothie & juice bar has opened recently, about a 5 minute drive from my place called Topanga Living Cafe in Topanga!
  • The pictures are incredible but it’s even better in person! Completely magical and lovely setting. Darrell was a wonderful host and there were thoughtful touches everywhere that made our stay entirely enjoyable and comfortable. Thank you for sharing this beautiful space you have created!

  • This treehouse is truly amazing and unique. A great place to relax and unwind.

    Stephanie2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This tree house is pure magic. It’s cozy with everything you need to stay in and cuddle or go on hikes and feel the freedom of the trees. It had sweet thoughtful touches like clean green bath products, a full spice rack, games and puzzles, and a sketch book with pastels to leave your mark. The guitar and a drum were inspiring and the couch was perfectly situation to the TV with movies and netflix if you want to veg. You would never think you could fit so much in such a small space. My husband and I got to reconnect in this magical vibe and we loved every second of it.

    Stephanie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Josiah and SJ's as a getaway for my parents for Christmas. After their stay my parents let me know that it was the best gift they have ever received! The space is amazingly unique and surrounded by the Ozark wilderness. They spent their time exploring and hiking as well as relaxing in the tree house. The hosts are amazing and responsive. All around a great experience.

    Evan2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our week at the treehouse went well above our greatest expectation. Josiah and SJ are committed to provide the best stay possible for their guests. The phrase 'make yourself at home' is honestly meant. They give great attention to every little detail to ensure your time there is enjoyable and relaxing. Our privacy was well respected although they are both very warm and friendly if you reach out to them. Every one we talk to about our vacation gets the excitement of how much we really enjoyed our time. In fact, I am afraid that it will be booked the next time we have an opportunity to return. I feel a true friendship has been established in the short time we were there. Never release the passion you hold in your souls.

    Renee2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our visit was so stress free. The attention to detail is amazing. Everything we experienced in the tree house was wonderful. Every nook and cranny has a treasure to discover. We highly recommend this tree house and the community surrounding it. We will definitely return.

  • This place is a life changer. From the very beginning when we booked to the moment we left the communication from the hosts was phenomenal. They made us feel warm and cozy just in their perfect words. And the treehouse was no different from the minute you see it it invites you in the perfect touches are incredible. The bath house is simply amazing. There are not words or pictures that can describe it..ITS A MUST GO! Well be back for sure. My favorite BNB thus far thank you SJ and Josiah for sharing your creation lives and home. Take care!

  • I LOVED this apartment. It was so cute and chic. The bed was insanely comfortable. I slept so well. The check-in instructions were long due to it being an apartment but very detailed and easy to follow. The only thing is we didn’t have any toilet paper haha but no big deal because we checked in extremely late and didn’t want to bother the host. I’m sure they would have taken care of it immediately had we contacted them. Over all, the stay, although short, was extremely comfy and cozy and I will absolutely stay here again in the future

Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 500+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods, the largest Trader Joe's on the east coast and few blocks from the new Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • Super nice and spacious apartment in a vibrant neighborhood. We really enjoyed our stay. Carol and Marc were extremely accommodating , helpful and friendly. Super comfy bed too! Would highly recommend!

    Matt2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I had an amazing stay at Carol and Marc’s place. I felt like I was at home or staying with relatives. That’s how comfortable and welcoming they were. The place was as described. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance, very clean. Carol and Marc made great suggestions for breakfast and dinner. They went above and beyond what was expected of them. The bed was so comfortable. I wish the weather was nicer so we could have taken advantage of the terrace (next time). I highly recommend Carol and Marc’s place. This is the place you want to stay when visiting New York. Everything you can think of is just outside there door.

    Emmanuelle2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a large, clean and comfortable 3rd floor apartment with keyed elevator. Felt completely safe walking around at night. Very quiet street. Just 3 blocks to metro and trains taking you uptown. Great coffee shops and lots of cultures and cuisines to explore nearby. The hosts know every nook and cranny of the lower east side, so ask for their recommendations. Would stay there again.

    Ann2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a shared apartment. Marc and Carol live in the back when you are there. It is an amazing place in a great location. Marc and Carol are kind and respect your space and are also engaging if you are. It is a great way to feel at home away from home in NYC.

    Jason2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay with Marc and Carol. They both are delightful hosts and had so many suggestions for us first timers to NYC. We were given a guide ahead of time of so many things to do, places to see, and places to eat. Check in was super easy and a bit early, which didn’t seem to be a problem at all this particular day. Marc gave a short tutorial showing us how to get in the building and how to use the elevator. It was great not to have to navigate stairs with suitcases. The apartment was spacious and spotless and we had access to everything we needed. Having shampoo, conditioner, and body wash already there for us to use was nice. Especially since you don’t have to pack it in your suitcase, which makes it a bit lighter for the airport. We didn’t use the kitchen much as we didn’t want to cook for ourselves, but it seemed to have everything you’d need if you did decide to cook. The internet was great and there were lots of choices for tv streaming services. After a long day of walking outside in the cold, it was nice to get back, curl up on the sofa with lots of pillows, have a nice fire in the fireplace, and watch a little tv. Only bad thing was that we didn’t have enough time to see and do all the things we wanted. Well, that means we’ll need to come back and we will have this fantastic place to stay!

    Kathleen2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Carol and Mark are very nice and very welcoming. I love the location to be able to walk everywhere. Again, I highly recommend this as a great place to stay.

    William2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is AMAZING - the pictures don’t do it justice (the tub is a jacuzzi!)!! Carol and Marc were consummate hosts, their hospitality generous without being intrusive. The location is so close to the subway, we were able to easily travel throughout the city with no trouble at all, and the area was and felt safe at all times. We can’t wait to return to the city and spend more time there!!! Thank you 😊

    Kelly2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ahhhhh :) what an amazing way to experience NYC. Firstly entering the apartment via an elevator set the mood immediately for the most new yorky stay ever! The apartment is amazing, all the beds all comfy, the shower lush, and the location brilliant. So much quieter than staying Central, which we loved. But not far away from anything! Close to subway and bus stops. And if you are tired (or have tired kids who don’t want to walk after you’ve been to the theatre) an Uber doesn’t break the bank to here either. Marc is just the sweetest gentleman and Carol is just lovely. Felt safe, felt welcome. Thank you guys :) I hope our paths cross again. Big loves xx

Our lovely space is a lush urban oasis and permaculture farm. Enjoy goats, pigs, emus, roosters, cats, and friendly people. Located in "Little Haiti," near art district, 15 minutes from airport and South Beach. Fresh veggies, eggs and honey when available! Late night train horns and early rooster crows also!
Walk up narrow staircase to the 3rd level of the treehouse, nestled within the pithocilobium tree. Feel like you're living in the trees! Beautiful view of canopy and animals. There's a double bed for two. Shared kitchen downstairs. The Bahamas style bathroom is located a few steps away from the Treehouse and the lovely outdoor shower is also close by. Bathroom and shower have hot water. Due to height of treehouse, no children are allowed (sorry). From the canopy room, you will hear animal sounds and possibly midnight train horns. Mosquitos are at their peak during rainy season (June-September) we have a net over the bed, citronella candle, two fans and incense to keep them away from you in the Treehouse, but that's not a guarantee. Miami summer is hot. While our beautiful canopy of trees helps keep the farm a lot cooler than other parts of the city, be mindful that the Treehouse only has fans for cooling. It does not have an air conditioner. Please consider our "Cozy Cabin" or "Loft on Woodsy Farm" listings if you are sensitive to mosquitoes or prefer air conditioning. Click on my photo, and scroll down. See all our interesting listings on the farm!
Ours is an eclectic community located in a low-income residential neighborhood of Miami. Many people are surprised to discover the beautiful oasis that is our farm. We are centrally located and easy to find. If you want a quiet, pretty place to unwind after experiencing the glitter of Miami, you will be very pleased.
  • What a nice surprise and incredible experience. Leslie was really nice and helpful. We recommend this 200%.

    Franck2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at the farm multiple times over the past several years. It’s a wonderful experience every time, but each time there’s something new to explore or discover. Still the same beautiful community through all these years. This was my first time staying in the canopy room, it’s especially beautiful!

    Jeff2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Located in the middle of Miami, we were thrilled to find such an incredible example of nature. The treehouse was amazing and everyone was very friendly. The animals and vegetation are spectacular. The only warning I would give is to bring earplugs, the roosters like to make sure everyone knows they are there.

    Edward2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Leslie’s place was magical! My husband and I had a very deep and meaningful break from our day to day. There are many nature elements that filled us with love and energy, such as the plants, morning sing of the turkeys, chickens, roosters, birds as well as the other farm animals like goats and pigs. Leslie, Ray and “half moon”, the furry affectionate kitty that kept us warm during the unusual cold nights we spent at the treehouse, were excellent hosts.

    Ninoska2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most beautiful place, like a tropical oasis hippy-style, which is how I flow. (: The treehouse area is fairly secluded because of all the lush plants and trees on the property. It's close to the ocean and to all kinds of cool things to do. It made me feel good too, to be staying at a place that is a sanctuary for farm animals, knowing they have happy good lives.

    Amy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a wonderful change to the big city.

    Mark2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place ever stayed..have to visit this place for the creativity and hardwork the host has put into..completely different experience..

The space is equipped with: - Queen bed - Private Outdoor hot shower and bath - Outdoor sink - Small gas stove burner for Tea & Coffee. - Small Cafe table - Books/games/music player - Gas heating - Modern composting toilet (Please see picture for reference) The hut is inside the forest and this means easy access for critters. To keep them outside, please carry your rubbish away and make sure any food is stored away adequately. It is not a good idea to leave unwashed dishes for these same reasons. There are insects too ... :)
The Redwood Forest Camping Hut is set in the woods with no visible neighbours. Our neighbors are all generally very quiet. Our little town of Elk is fairly small, but beautiful. A great place for a hike down to the beach or along the coastline. For any provisions we have a great market (The Elk Store - closes 6:00pm) with sandwiches, cheeses, a great selection of wine and beer, and all other main essentials. You can grab breakfast/lunch at Queens Roadhouse Cafe (Thursday thru Monday 8am to 3pm). There are also many other restaurants/cafes along Hwy 1 within a few miles. --- Mendocino - 25 min (14.6 miles) Elk Town - 11 min (5.4 miles) The larger market in Mendocino is open until 9:00pm.
  • Our weekend getaway at Rob and Elsa's tree camping hut was magical. We liked all the detailed touches (especially the cute notes), the comfy bed, the outdoor shower (complete with eucalyptus oil), the recommendations on local restaurants (shout out to Queenie's!) and the relaxing atmosphere. The hut was well constructed and the furnishings were very stylish and cozy. We left inspired to build a little forest cabin for ourselves one day. Until then, we hope to return to enjoy the camping hut again soon.

  • My stay at the Forest retreat was magical. The design and details were above what I expected and it's those little details that make this place so great. I will definitely be back again.

    Brandon2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a magical experience! Rob & Elsa put so much thought and detail into this space. It felt so lovely to spend our gals weekend, gazing out to the redwoods, and breathing in that fresh air! What a nice escape from the city... a true gem! Thank You.

    Courtney2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for letting us stay in your masterpiece!! Your home was a dream and it was better than our wildest dreams. So many personal touches and everything was so intentional. I was blown away. Such a great place to stay!

  • Rob & Elsa’s place is gorgeous with detail-oriented style. We loved the coziness and comfortability of the space. The bedroom was a dream and we really enjoyed the chance to disconnect from our phones and computers!

    Regina2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Rob and Elsa have really created a little piece of paradise in their Camping Hut! It's so beautifully designed, and there are a lot of thoughtful touches. My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful weekend! We hope to come back in the future!

    Julie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a little slice of heaven! And the little details that Rob and Elsa thought of just add a little magic to their beautiful cabin.

    Hedvy2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing stay. I felt totally off the grid (only nature sounds, trees, and the stars) while surrounded by thoughtful amenities and stylish design. I loved taking a forest bath and the hut couldn’t have been cozier on a chilly night. And don’t get me started on the playlist that greeted me; basically, they have great taste in every respect. :)

    Michelle2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Michaels home was like no other airbnb i’ve stayed in before. Extremely comfortable and cozy. Very beautiful and although it was gloomy, we still very much enjoyed staying in a tree during a rain storm. exceeded all expectations. Will absolutely be returning. Thank you for the lovely experience Michael!

    Stefany2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The main house is beautiful, with a very tranquil backyard. Very easy walk down to Little Italy. The treehouse shower is great, and there is 2 lovely decks that are private to the treehouse room. Also there are living rooms, kitchen and bathrooms within the main house that are available for use. Parking was easy! The room is on the smaller side... with 2 people/luggage and toiletries we ended up keeping some things on the private/safe deck. The house is under a flight path, but it was quite interesting seeing the big planes at close range - and they didn't really bother us later at night, at bed time.

    Pip2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Micheals place for me and my boyfriends 3 year anniversary and everything was so lovely! Walkable distance from stores and everything was so clean and neat. I can’t wait to book my next trip!

  • We had a great stay. Such a unique and special space. We would 100% stay here again and would recommend to others. The treehouse was so cool! Location was great. We could walk or take a short Uber ride to Little Italy. The place was very cozy.

NOTE: Construction next door to my property is scheduled to start in October. I am happy to refund $50 per day that noise from this project affects your stay but want all potential guests to be aware of this issue prior to booking. Relaxing refuge set on a lush hillside in the quiet seaside town of Stinson Beach. Feel transported by the authentic Japanese design aesthetic and tranquil outdoor shower and soaking tub. Indulge in treetop ocean views from the comfort of a queen bed, and watch the sun set from the privacy of a wooden deck. Walk only five minutes to three miles of perfect beach.
It's worth the journey down through the trees on uneven stone stairs and very steep wooden stairs to find yourself transported away from it all. A comfortable queen bed with plenty of pillows affords the perfect sitting spot to look out through the branches of the treetops at the ocean. The small kitchen area has all you need for simple cooking. You'll find extra blankets in the closet behind an antique Japanese room screen while the new handcrafted shoji screen conceals the toilet and bathroom sink. The outside shower is exhilarating (and for the adventurous in the rain and winter) while the soaking tub is beyond relaxing while looking at the ocean watching the sky change colors at sunset. Ahhhhh. Good WiFi, flashlights for night walking, aromatherapy for fully relaxing, eye masks for sleeping in!
Stinson Beach is a quiet seaside town popular for its calm surf, smooth sand, and miles of mountain trails. The beach bungalow set on the hillside with wooden and stone stairs to arrive. Worth the trek, but if you have a bad knee, a tricky ankle or a hitch in your get-along, this is not the property for you.
  • This is truly a special place to stay. It is beautiful, private, and spa-like. Margaux provides all the best amenities, including robes and slippers! If you want to treat yourself, definitely stay here!

    Megan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Margaux’s place was so peaceful and beautifully decorated! We arrived after dark, and it was easy to find because the path is well lit! The bungalow has a beautiful ocean view and it’s an easy short walk to the beach! We absolutely loved this place and will be coming back in the summer!

    Tatiana2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

    Bonnie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the Bird's Nest! It was peaceful and serene, with a lovely view and a beautifully decorated interior. A really short walk to the beach as well! Loved the thoughtful details everywhere. Margaux was super easy to reach for any questions we had too. Will definitely be back!

    Amal2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • It's amazing to think that this bungalow actual has a fantastic ocean view that isn't continually called out as the top feature or showcased much in the images, but it made sense when we arrived. This was easily the best Airbnb we've stayed it. The space is thoughtfully laid out in what feels like a modern and comfortable tree house, has everything needed for cooking, hanging out, working etc., is a quiet and private location that you have completely to yourself. The deck, outdoor shower and tub are all excellent. There is something pretty magical about waking up at this location in the morning. As travelers from SF, you felt as if you were miles away from anything that may have been stressing you out. It's a short walk to the beach and and even shorter walk to the town, and Margaux was an exceptional host. I couldn't recommend this place enough. We will be back.

    Matt2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Still my favorite Airbnb stay, ever! We plan to make a tradition of returning to this place as often as we can.

Due to COVID19, we want to confirm our standard cleaning process for guests: - Kitchen and bathroom are cleaned with windex and clorox - Comforter is laundered between every stay (as are all linens/towels, of course) - Fabric-covered chair and throw pillows have been removed - All surfaces are wiped down (fridge, microwave, table, light switches, etc.) - Clorox wipes provided for extra peace of mind Rental highlights: - Complimentary bikes - EV charging for Tesla drivers - Minutes to Lady Bird Lake - 1 GB fiber Internet - Pets allowed ($25 fee)
The Kanga Tiny House comfortably sleeps two people, sharing a queen bed. If you are traveling with a third person, or simply need extra sleeping space, we have a twin-sized air mattress available for you to borrow, or a pac'n'play for a little one. (Please ask for this in your reservation request if you need it). Floor space is limited, so we may rearrange furniture to comfortably accommodate your group. Check-in time is 3pm or later. Access is through a keyless lock for which you'll be provided a code prior to approval, so late night check-ins are not a problem. Check-out time is 12pm. Dogs are permitted on a case-by-case basis for an additional per visit fee of $25, and approval must be obtained ahead of a booking being made. The fee will be added to the booking through a booking alteration/special offer. In cases of Instant Books, we'll submit a request for pet fee payment through the Airbnb system. Guests must keep their dogs supervised at all times when in the yard, leashed when outside the yard, and must pick up after them. The Kanga Tiny House is roughly 200 square feet, and features: - 1GB fiber Internet (through WiFi Airport Extreme) - We have a Roku TV with several free apps and a Netflix subscription. - USB Charger for your devices - Wireless Charging Pad from Ikea (your device must be wireless enabled) We keep the place well stocked with all of the basics, as well as extra towels and blankets. We are: - 15 minutes (6.6 miles) from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, - 5 minutes (1.5 miles) from the Austin Convention Center, - Approx. $6 or $7 Uber/Lyft ride from downtown, - 1.7 miles to Austin's famous Rainey Street bar and restaurant district. We recommend taking Uber/Lyft unless you feel like a 30 minute walk, - 3 blocks away from the Lady Bird Lake trailhead on Pleasant Valley, for walking/biking/running (by Longhorn Dam). If you enjoy exploring on foot, or alternative transit options like bikes and buses, this is a good spot for you. You'll be just one block away from Cesar Chavez St, a major thoroughfare that goes into downtown, where there's an eclectic mix of dining, drinking, retail, services, gas stations, and single family homes. We're only a few short blocks from the Lady Bird Lake trail and head over Longhorn Dam, which pops you out onto a hiking, biking, and running loop that is several miles long. The boardwalk over the lake provides great views of downtown. There are plenty of things in walking distance, and we recommend looking at our Guidebook for more details. Our favorites for food & groceries: - JuiceLand on E Cesar Chavez, a smoothie & juice spot, approx. 3 minutes away - Tacos Guerrero on Cesar Chavez & Pleasant Valley, fantastic breakfast tacos for only $2 a piece - La Barbecue on E Cesar Chavez (we recommend preordering, at least 5 days in advance, to save yourself a couple of hours in a long line for the best brisket in town). - Kemuri Tatsu-Ya, 1.5 blocks away, fantastic Texas & Japanese fusion food - Juniper, 1 block away, a small plates restaurant with great cocktails - Counter Culture on E Cesar Chavez, a vegan restaurant, 2 blocks away - Blue Owl Brewing, a sour-mashed beer micro brewery, 1 block away - Juniper, a classy Italian restaurant with great wine and outdoor seating, 1 block away - HEB on E 7th, a grocery store, approx. 10 minutes away - Hi Hat on E 6th, a gastropub, approx. 15 minutes away - Counter Cafe on E 6th, a breakfast & lunch diner, approx. 15 minutes away - Launderette on Holly St at St Martinez Jr St has one of the best burgers in town plus a tasty rotating dessert menu. There are many more options for dining and services. If you prefer to drive to any of these you'll get there in less than 5 minutes. We are avid travelers ourselves, and love staying with AirBnB hosts any chance we get. We want to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and are completely open to frank feedback on how to improve your time in the Kanga Tiny House.
The guesthouse is in the gentrifying East Side neighborhood. It's a wonderful, artsy, quirky place in the heart of the East Side entertainment district. There are countless restauraunts, food trucks, bars, and even four breweries within walking distance. Lady Bird Lake and the hike and bike trail are just a couple blocks away. The Convention Center is minutes away and all of downtown is easily accessible by e-scooter, e-bike, and rideshare. We are just 10 minutes from the airport.
  • This is an amazing place and I am so happy to have stayed here, I only wish I could have stayed longer!

  • The place was not very big but it was well organized. I was impressed with the real bathroom in such a tiny house. In addition to the very friendly and responsive hosts, I also especially enjoyed the chickens who would run over to see what I had.

  • Our stay at Chad & Anna’s tiny home was absolutely amazing! The tiny home is so cozy and welcoming and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower is big for a tiny home and we loved the A/C and fan. Plus we got to see their cute dogs when we arrived :) The location is perfect! We were walking distance from some great breweries, restaurants and cafes and just a short drive from Downtown, South Congress, and other popular areas. We will definitely be back next time we come to Austin!

    Danielle Lynn2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Chad were excellent hosts and easy to reach at all times! This tiny house was perfect and had everything we needed. I would recommend this place to anyone trying to get away!

  • comfy little spot just minutes away from downtown, also real convenient to get on the highways. the place is set up real nice, and everything is convenient. 5/5!

    Cody2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great, accommodating hosts. Check-in and out was a breeze and the home is in a convenient location within walking distance or quick car rides to all over Austin. If in the area, would highly recommend staying here.

    Matt2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was an incredible place to stay! Check-in And check-out were so easy. Everything we could have needed or wanted was provided for us, right down to a well-stocked snack basket (which I really appreciated as I am pregnant and can never know what foods will be acceptable each day). The bed was VERY comfortable, more so than in fancy hotel rooms. We loved the neighborhood too! Awesome places to eat are just within walking distance. There are pets at this location—two great dogs, a wonderful friendly cat, and a hen and rooster who will announce their presence to you in the morning—and we loved it. They made us feel right at home just by being there. But of hearing clucking in the morning isn’t your thing, ear plugs are provided. :)

The Nest is located at “The Farm at Deer Crossing” a 51 acre farm and Agritourism destination in beautiful Mount Juliet, Tn. Enjoy a fun, romantic getaway to our private, secluded treehouse with heat, air and a full bathroom. Get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, but yet stay close to everything. Located only 6 miles to shopping and restaurants, 15 miles to Nashville airport, and only 22 miles to Downtown Nashville.
A truly unique place. Walk down a well lite pathway to the treehouse (only 10 steps up) which consists of a bedroom with a queen size bed, a full bathroom and a deck area. Below you can relax in the hammock, while enjoying a bonfire!!
We are close to the airport and downtown Nashville, but far enough out to enjoy the peace and quite!!

Leaf through the pages of a good book in a wicker sofa on the porch of this quaint remodled bungalow. Inside, a glass breakfast table, carved wood furnishings, and muted accents mingle beneath a pitched white plank ceiling with exposed beams.
You'll love my place because of the coziness, the kitchen, the high ceilings, and the comfy beds (2 twin beds+ 2 floor mattress), and luxury cotton sheets. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids). Travel 3 miles North to Alhambra and experience authentic restaurants or DTLA and enjoy the many exciting restaurants.
The house is located in Northeast Los Angeles between Downtown Los Angeles and South Pasadena. Restaurants, shopping, and entertainment are a short drive away. The nearby Ernest E. Debs Regional Park and Ascott Park are excellent for hiking and experiencing panoramic views of the city.
  • Place was spotless and clean. Good place for couples. The location is great, but I can’t say the same for the neighborhood. The people next to me parked his car literally outside the house almost blocking the driveway other than that everything is perfect.
