Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Pickering

We booked this for friends to use for their honeymoon. Charles was very accommodating and helpful when booking and the space was just perfect. Particularly appreciated was the wood fired hot tub and lots of useful local information helping them to make the most of their stay.

We had a wonderful week at David and Philip's place, with our one and three-year-old children. The cottage was idyllic and the garden at the front of the property felt like stepping into our own little world. Our eldest was sure he saw fairies amongst the flowers and both kids loved playing in the safe, enclosed space. We had also asked for use of the BBQ which was ready and waiting for us and made for a lovely afternoon enjoying the space and relaxing. The cottage itself was perfect for our needs and the moveable stair-gate (top or bottom of the stairs) was a huge help for keeping our risk-oblivious explorers safe. There was lots of space for them to play in a cosy setting which felt like a home very quickly. The use of the cot and high-chair (arranged in advance) was also a huge help. The location was perfect, with plenty of indoor and outdoor places to visit (castles, beaches, gardens, Flamingo Land, Eden Camp, Forests) all a short drive away. Would absolutely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay! It was perfectly situated for us, immaculate and so peaceful. Lucy’s directions were very clear and we had no problem finding the cottage. Would 100% stay here again when visiting family, thank you!

John & Tricia were extremely helpful hosts. Their place is perfect for exploring the north Yorkshire moors and eastern coastline. We had the most wonderful stay. They were very generous with both their time and welcome gifts. We hope to be back.

Whether we are there as a couple, or it is one man and his whippet :-) , Nicola's place always delivers. The dog friendly garden is a dream, walks close by and a simply beautiful part of the world. Nicola is always friendly and a great host. We are regulars and hope to continue to be! Thanks for another great stay. A perfect girls’ weekend getaway! We stayed at this lovely cottage for a relaxing girls’ weekend and couldn’t have asked for more. The property is beautifully presented and had absolutely everything we needed. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, perfect for cooking together, and the lounge and snug areas were cosy and comfortable for long chats and relaxing evenings. The beds were super comfy, and there was plenty of bathroom space for all of us. Just a 5-minute drive from charming Helmsley, the location was ideal. Lovely welcome gift was left for our arrival – thank you Helen. We would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return again soon!

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The space was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We really appreciated the little touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The jacuzzi was lovely! The hosts were great at providing us with all the information we needed for a stress free check in/out and a perfect stay. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mini break. Peacocks were a lovely surprise seeing them walk around the estate. Thanks again! we loved our stay here and will definitely be returning- The cottage was perfect! had everything we needed, much bigger than expected! The enclosed garden was perfect for the pooch and lovely to sit out and listen to the birds and local church bells ring. The welcome treats were very much appreciated too!

We had an amazing stay. The apartment is beautiful with everything you need and plenty of parking. Lovely little village with a brilliant bakers and butcher. Walkable to Whitby along the Esk way or there is a bus and a train! Also very close to the moors for lots of country walks. Thoroughly recommend this little gem of a place!

Lovely little break away, definitely could have stayed longer and we’re already thinking about returning! Would 100% recommend!

Comfortable and spacious apartment, just a short walk from the beach, and offering a sea view from the living room.

The place was lovely and clean with everything you needed including milk, teabags,coffee,cleaning materials etc The rooms were very spacious and a good layout. It was very quiet and peaceful and even could park the car right outside. Would definitely recommend it and if in the area would stay there again.

We stayed for 5 nights in Simon's flat which was perfect! Helmsley is very pretty place with lots to do round and about so the location of the flat is ideal. It was easy to park and the flat very clean. The sitting room is a really good size, very comfortable and homely. Some rented properties (mainly managed by agents) are rather sterile and this was completely the opposite, somewhere you could settle into straight away and which had lots of character. The kitchen was well equiped and the bedroom very comfortable. We would highly recommend!

Helen was very responsive and helpful. She met me at the property, gave me a quick tour of everything, and was literally next door in case I needed anything. Very friendly family, who greeted me every time I saw them, but also left me to do my own thing. There was everything I needed, and shops close by, and the beautiful coastline was walkable to.

Great flat centrally located and close to just about everything - every place we went to, be it museum, restaurant or gardens was at the very most 15 minutes away, but more generally less than ten minutes (by foot). Super responsive, incredibly friendly and generally just great hosts. We had one tiny issue (beyond their control) which they resolved for us incredibly quickly and proactively- would very highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in York

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay , Ray very welcoming and helpful then left you alone to enjoy your stay , everything you needed and safe enclosure for my dog , very good butchers in the village lovely walking and Cod and Lobster in Staithes highly recommend , all in all very enjoyable very quiet , private and peaceful would definitely revisit and recommend

This really is a gem, fantastic value for money and in our opinion ticked all the boxes. Would not hesitate to recommend it to any one.

That saying “The Pictures don’t do it justice” is exactly true for Diane’s apartment - the pictures looked beautiful but the reality is even better. Very clean and everything you need. Great location and such a beautiful town with friendly people - we got the train into York one day, the station was less than a 10 min walk (station cafe is AMAZING) - all in all a great stay and hope we can come back again soon - thanks Diane! X

We loved our stay … the apartment was comfortable, light & airy with a pretty view out to the garden and the walls of York. Very easy walking distance to everything you would want to see & do in York. Great local restaurants. Could not recommend this apartment enough!!

Fabulous place to stay. Calm, peaceful and a beautiful view of the sea. I stayed with my husband and two children and we loved it. Lovely walk to pub down the road and only a short drive to Scarborough, Robin hoods bay and Whitby. Would definitely like to visit again!

We spent 2 nights at the apartment. Everything was as described. The location is fantastic within a beautiful holiday village and only 5 mins walk to the amazing never ending sandy beach which is absolutely perfect for your four legged friend. Filey is only 5 mins drive with lovely shops and restaurants and bustling Scarborough only a 15 mins drive. Will definitely be back!
