Kid-friendly vacation rentals in North York Moors National Park

We booked this for friends to use for their honeymoon. Charles was very accommodating and helpful when booking and the space was just perfect. Particularly appreciated was the wood fired hot tub and lots of useful local information helping them to make the most of their stay.

We had a really wonderful and relaxing break here with our pup walking through the Lake District. This house was perfect, in stunning gardens and close to everything we wanted to do. We even enjoyed eggs from the chickens which came to say hi to us every day. A really beautiful place to stay, comfortable and had everything we needed.

Lovely place to stay, beautifully decorated and the house is spotless and comfortable. David is super lovely and really happy to help. Staithes is a very small and quiet place with some beautiful walks along the coast, my dog loved it. Phone reception is non existent in the village so make sure you know the location prior to arriving. There is wifi in the air b&b. Really enjoyed just relaxing and the log burner plus monopoly was such a wholesome vibe.

We had a wonderful stay! It was perfectly situated for us, immaculate and so peaceful. Lucy’s directions were very clear and we had no problem finding the cottage. Would 100% stay here again when visiting family, thank you!

The house was exactly as pictured and described. We booked this for a short stay and so we could explore the moors and was an easy spot to get to the coast. We drove to Staithes and caught the train to Whitby, both very easy and not far! James gave us some great local recommendations. The pub across the road was great for a drink and nice beer garden on a sunny day, and we also had a good meal at the Eskdale. House was very quaint and had all the original features as described which was lovely - a unique place! Only thing to bear in mind is that the village has no phone signal or internet connection. As there is no wifi in the house, we perhaps would have planned ahead for things eg checking train times, as you won’t be able to do this while in the village unless on the pub wifi.

A perfect girls’ weekend getaway! We stayed at this lovely cottage for a relaxing girls’ weekend and couldn’t have asked for more. The property is beautifully presented and had absolutely everything we needed. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, perfect for cooking together, and the lounge and snug areas were cosy and comfortable for long chats and relaxing evenings. The beds were super comfy, and there was plenty of bathroom space for all of us. Just a 5-minute drive from charming Helmsley, the location was ideal. Lovely welcome gift was left for our arrival – thank you Helen. We would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return again soon!

Whether we are there as a couple, or it is one man and his whippet :-) , Nicola's place always delivers. The dog friendly garden is a dream, walks close by and a simply beautiful part of the world. Nicola is always friendly and a great host. We are regulars and hope to continue to be! Thanks for another great stay. I had to pick Pinter (whippet) up to put him in the car as he didn't want to leave!

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The space was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We really appreciated the little touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The jacuzzi was lovely! The hosts were great at providing us with all the information we needed for a stress free check in/out and a perfect stay. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mini break. Peacocks were a lovely surprise seeing them walk around the estate. Thanks again! we loved our stay here and will definitely be returning- The cottage was perfect! had everything we needed, much bigger than expected! The enclosed garden was perfect for the pooch and lovely to sit out and listen to the birds and local church bells ring. The welcome treats were very much appreciated too!

Fantastic location overlooking marketplace in Masham with its beautiful Georgian buildings and independent shops. The apartment is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Good centre for visiting Ripon, Harrogate, Fountains etc.

We had an amazing stay. The apartment is beautiful with everything you need and plenty of parking. Lovely little village with a brilliant bakers and butcher. Walkable to Whitby along the Esk way or there is a bus and a train! Also very close to the moors for lots of country walks. Thoroughly recommend this little gem of a place!

We've already made 2 further bookings - that's how pleased we were with this property! Tim & Michelle are super hosts & easy to deal with. The apartment is comfortable, modern & imaculate. Great location with secure parking. Shops nearby & easy walking distance from the city centre.

We stayed for 5 nights in Simon's flat which was perfect! Helmsley is very pretty place with lots to do round and about so the location of the flat is ideal. It was easy to park and the flat very clean. The sitting room is a really good size, very comfortable and homely. Some rented properties (mainly managed by agents) are rather sterile and this was completely the opposite, somewhere you could settle into straight away and which had lots of character. The kitchen was well equiped and the bedroom very comfortable. We would highly recommend!

Lovely spot, we were there for 2 days and found it most relaxing - some good pubs within 2/3 miles and plenty of restaurants in Ripon. Plenty to do - we did a few good walks and visited Fountains Abbey, Ripon and Thirsk all writhin 30 minutes or less. Apartment is great and very comfortable.

We absolutely loved the snug. It’s stunning , would recommend to anyone. Host is super helpful and responsive. Gorgeous place to stay in Kendal. The snug is exactly how it looks in photos.

Very enjoyable stay! Was beautifully decorated for the occasion and we felt right at home immediately. The layout of the house is also very pleasant and spacious for bags of comfort. Very kind hosts who provided us with a variety of snacks and refreshments. Would definitely return!!

It was the perfect location for the wedding we went at Rushpool wedding venue. Commucation from Donna was fantastic and the place was lovely and clean with beautiful views of the sea front.

We loved our stay in Amanda's flat. It was very clean and tidy and well equipped with quality furnishings . The flat was very quiet . Paring was very easy and excellent to have. The flat is very well located and town is only a short walk away. We would definitely recommend this flat for a short stay in Whitby as Whitby proved to be larger than we appreciated and we realise there is more to see. Also, huge number of good bars and restaurants within easy reach. the sea view is also a huge plus. Only thing we think would improve the flat would be a few more lamps in the living room and bedrooms for ease of reading . Also, a soap tray in the en-suite bathroom would not go amiss. We are already considering booking again while we can.

This really is a gem, fantastic value for money and in our opinion ticked all the boxes. Would not hesitate to recommend it to any one.

That saying “The Pictures don’t do it justice” is exactly true for Diane’s apartment - the pictures looked beautiful but the reality is even better. Very clean and everything you need. Great location and such a beautiful town with friendly people - we got the train into York one day, the station was less than a 10 min walk (station cafe is AMAZING) - all in all a great stay and hope we can come back again soon - thanks Diane! X

Beautifully presented one bedroom space with ample bathrooms and living area. Close to the centre of Malton, pubs and restaurants are an easy walk and the train station is just a short walk which makes a day trip to York super easy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shambles Secret. Jenny proved to be a first class host, who went above and beyond to make her guests happy; we cannot thank her enough. The flat was exactly as depicted in the pictures, lovely and cosy and a real home from home. We slept really well, and although the flat is right in the centre of York, it was remarkably quiet. We enjoyed our time in the flat as much as we did sightseeing in fabulous York. Shambles Secret really is right where you want to be, EVERYTHING was within walking distance. Alison’s apartment was spotlessly clean and looked just like the photos. It’s an amazing location if you want to access all York has to offer. Everything was in walking distance which was great. Alison was really quick to respond to any questions. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit York.
