Cottage vacation rentals in North Coast

We met the infamous Piper! She’s just as sweet as they say…and Royce ain’t bad, himself. The cottage was cozy, warm, inviting, and stocked with everything we could need. It was exactly as pictured, and the hot tub under the stars was incredible. We were lucky enough to catch the annual benefit concert right in the yard (hosts discussed this with us beforehand). Special note: the rooster crows throughout the middle of the night (many times between 12am-5am). He roams during the day with his beautiful ladies and may crow near the cottage in the afternoon. If you’re not used to this, bring some ear plugs or headphones. The location of this property is PERFECT - a quick drive to Fort Bragg (10 min), but feels remote. Follow the directions that they’ll send you the day before arrival and NOT GPS! Make sure you have cell service the day before, because our reception was 1 bar (Verizon). WiFi at cottage worked perfectly. This place was SO homey and the hosts were so welcoming!

We’re very familiar with the surrounding area and this home is classic to the Russian River vibe. It’s easy to access Jenner Highland preserve, Armstrong woods and river activities. We found the listing to be accurate and very clean. We did not access the small secondary building but appreciated the hot tub. We also were glad we left our dog at home as there is no grass on the property and several stairs to navigate. It would certainly work for some dogs, but not ours was quite large. We did appreciate David’s immediate response to our request to edit our reservation when we decided not to bring our dog; excellent communication!

Karen's place was amazing! It looks beautiful in the photos and even better in real life. It's so peaceful—we saw deer and foxes from the balcony. The wonderful view from the hot tub is also so nice. It's one of the best Airbnbs we've stayed in. Location, privacy, size, etc, everything was perfect. Highly recommended!

Our stay was lovely! The beds and linens were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The entire home was well stocked and it felt like a second personal home in terms of the quality of items - sharp knives, well stocked pantry for cooking basics, foil, etc. We brought two dogs and it was a paradise for them. The outdoor area is truly magical. The fire pit is great, the downstairs dog shower is handy, and the landscaping is sublime.

We loved our stay at Pauline's place. You could tell that Pauline strives to be proactive, intentional and transparent with her space, which helps ensure a smooth trip and a great stay! As a fellow host, I appreciate that she thought of everything to both create a comfortable space and answer any questions that may have come up during our visit, right off the bat! I brought my Dad up from Texas to visit the Redwoods for his 70th birthday. The Fortuna location was the perfect spot for visiting both the Humboldt State Parks in the South and The State & National Redwoods park in the North, along with visits to Trinidad, Ferndale & Eureka on the way. After long days of hiking, the hot tub and bath tub with a view were a dream! We slept so good (Dad loved the daybed and I had the "queen's room") and enjoyed the fresh eggs :)

The beautiful pictures and glowing reviews for this listing were a primary reason why we chose to book, and the reality absolutely met our expectations. My boyfriend and I just spent almost a week here to rejuvenate and unplug, and it was the perfect place to do so. We felt an immediate shift in energy upon arriving at this very serene and magical property. It was just as lovely as previous commenters have stated. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Marykate, but her son conducted our check-in and was so friendly and kind and made us feel comfortable and welcomed. We had total privacy but still felt our needs were being taken care of. Everything was also so thoughtfully considered and supplied. Absolutely LOVED the beautiful and adorable free-range chickens. It was so peaceful and therapeutic to see them roaming around. Such a special place. It was a sad day when we had to leave, and I hope we will be back soon.

Quaint little cottage and private deck away from and yet close to the town. Excellent and super-responsive hosts, very sweet and kind. Highly recommend for a serene experience in nature on your next Petaluma trip. :)

nice 2 bedroom 2 bath functional space. tucked inside a quiet wooded lot. perfect for my family's 1 night stay during our road trip through the state parks. simple space, very clean, was very comfortable. 10 minutes to town. followed Google GPS to the listed address and it's the smaller single blue house on the lot.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. It was a very short walk to the beach and a short drive to the Redwoods. The Cozy Coastal Cottage was the perfect size for the two of us. It was clean and comfy and great to relax at in between activities. If we ever vacation in the area again we would definitely stay again! Thanks for letting us stay!

Fantastic place to stay in the Heart of the Redwoods. So many great trails nearby, and the ocean is only a few miles away as well. Well-stocked kitchen came in very useful. Would definitely recommend staying here 👍 . Felt like we got great value for the price we paid.

Awesome, quirky, and cute. Hot tub is nice, as is the whole seating area out there. If you are a fan of creative spaces, different styles of stays, and don’t need or do fancy, this place is ideal. It is creaky and if you are over six feet tall you’ll have to duck at one spot, but that stuff adds to the cute factor not subtract. Good spot

We loved staying at this beautiful cabin for our honeymoon! The cabin had a cozy feel and the surrounding nature was beautiful. Mendocino was a fun town to explore, and felt nice to have a place to stay only 10 minutes away!

We had a great stay at Adam’s place in Monte Rio. The beds were both very comfortable, and the whole space felt really welcoming. The property is beautiful — the landscaping is well cared for, and the herb garden was such a nice touch for cooking. The kitchen had everything we needed, plus a great selection of cookbooks. The hot tub was a definite highlight, and the view of the river made the beautiful backyard even better. We loved being able to swim and kayak in the water, and the neighbors were friendly too, which added to the relaxed vibe. Would definitely love to come back!

All aspects of our stay were terrific. My husband and I were joined by our 30-year old son for two nights. The house was spotless with many thoughtful touches (opener for fence, recycling bin, plenty of towels, basic seasonings, small real half and half condiments, nice seating and dining areas, outdoor picnic table, seating in front deck, comfortable bedding). The nearness of the redwood forest with walking trails was one reason I chose this spot, and it was a truly beautiful way to spend a morning or afternoon. Gypsy greeted us upon arrival and accommodated an earlier check in (we were coming from a long road trip). We'd stay here again when in the Arcata!

Quick access to the beach, great views of the river and peek views of the ocean. Easy off hwy 1, not too far from the bay. Nice kitchen arrangement. Small bedrooms, but best arrangement for the size. Would recommend and may be back!

Small hiccup getting into the house and Amber was super quick to help! The place was stunning! So beautiful and so well appointed. The home is 10/10!!

I booked last minute as I was driving the Pacific Coast highway. The price was so reasonable I was expecting something less than the pictures. driving to her home the road turns into a narrow gravel road. That made me more concerned. we got there. Her husband Neil greeted us. it was perfect. very simple but cozy, clean and quiet. only about 2 miles to Fort Bragg so it is easy to get dinner or go to the lovely beach.. Honestly she could charge $160-180 and I would think it's reasonable.

We absolutely loved Sally's cottage! It was just perfect for us and our 4 kiddos! Everything was clean and yard nicely manicured. Their pig is just the sweetest. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, so don't be fooled by some of the surrounding houses. We would love to stay again! Not to mention they are just the best hosts! Offering fresh eggs, muffins and dessert. My family greatly appreciated it.

This is our fourth year staying at Crispin Cottage. That’s how much we love it. It’s such a sweet little space: very comfortable bed , the kitchen is stocked with condiments and coffee and tea – lots of good restaurants around to choose from. Linda and Melanie who live there, are very friendly and share good information about Philo and Boonville. It’s a popular place and we have to book months in advance- so worth the wait! Indian creek runs towards the bottom of their property and it’s easy to walk to. You can also go to Hendy Woods and hike and swim in the river there. The wineries are lovely and our favorites are Greenwood Ridge, Roderer for bubbles and Toulouse for the amazing views.

Such a cute cottage - well appointed with more than expected in terms of the kitchen. Love the swings and outdoor picnic table. So very close to the Lavender Farm we wanted to visit - and we loved the Wild Poppy Cafe, also quite close. It was fun exploring Sebastopol and lovely to have Mary's cottage as a home base.

Great place to stay in Crescent City! Peaceful, spacious, nice kitchen. Worked great for me and my 3 siblings.
