Welcome to Sheardrum a cosy yet spacious self-catering cottage in the courtyard of our smallholding. Sheardrum is the best of both worlds; surrounded by rolling farmland and hills it is quiet and peaceful, seems remote but is less than an hour away from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and Perth. We have 25 acres of wildlife-friendly land, new woodland and riverside - lots of places to explore. Views of the Ochil Hills and countryside are fabulous. Children and well-behaved pets are welcome.

Relax and enjoy the stunning views with your own private entrance, sunroom, studio bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. There is off-street parking and self-check-in for your convenience. Guests can spend time exploring the extensive local walking/cycling routes, local shopping outlet village at Sterling Mills or visiting nearby bars and restaurants. The city of Stirling is a short 15 minute drive. After a busy day you can chill out in the private hot tub with breath-taking views of the Ochil Hills.

In spring and summer the garden is filled with herbs and flowers. You'll usually find a few books in the hall and you're welcome to take any you like the look of. Mary Queen of Scot's chamber at Neidpath Castle is perhaps the most romantic place to stay in the Scottish Borders. Explore privately the whole castle and then retire to enjoy your suite rooms. The antique four poster bed, deep roll top bath and open fire evoke earlier times, but are truly comfortable and luxurious. An elegant table is set for breakfast. Peebles is 10 minutes walk away, with a host of shops and restaurants, as well as a museum and award winning chocolatier.

This 2 bedroom apartment is the beautifully converted former Great Hall of Dollarbeg Castle. Built in 1890, Dollarbeg Castle was the last gothic baronial style building of its type ever built. Beautifully restored in 2007 to the very highest standards, it was converted into 10 luxury properties, one of which is a conversion of the original "Great Hall" with its vaulted ceiling and majestic views across the formal grounds towards the Ochil Hills in the distance.

Our WiFi is not reliable ( 4G signal) so if you need fast and good wifi it is not the place for you. 1 double bedroom, the other bedroom has 2 single beds. Fully equipped kitchen, microwave, coffee maker, washing machine, cooking stove. Shower room with shower, WC and basin We are in the countryside 1.7 miles from the village of Saline where there is a little convenience store.
