A private, self-contained, en-suite annex, next to the River Wye, in a tranquil setting. COVID: Sadly we will not be providing a continental breakfast, milk, tea, coffee, etc. We have temporarily added a microwave as local pubs etc have restricted availability. Direct access to decking & garden so you can enjoy the water, wildlife and countryside. Plenty of walks from the doorstep, cycle routes and climbing opportunities. Perfectly located to explore the Peak District. Car highly recommended.
“Wow, Wow Wow I'm almost hesitant to write a good review as it won't do it justice until experience yourself. This is a hidden gem with super host and we hope to make this an annual breakaway. The private annex feels more like a private apartment with stunning views and tranquil surroundings. The apartment offers everything that is required to make your stay comfortable. With a very comfy bed and pillows, we slept with the door open at night to embrace the sound of the flowing river over the white limestones. Although the picture and information is accurate in the description, the true experience exceeds all expectations. As we planned to arrived on the bank holiday with the concern that we might not find a local place for dinner, Wendy provided us with a few options before the time to consider and the recommendations were spot on! This was our first time in the Peak District and the location of the apartment is ideal to explore the area around the popular Monsal trail and the five Dales. Thank you Wendy and Stephen for sharing you beautiful place.”
Stay in this traditional 17th Century cottage, listen to the relaxing stream from your bedroom window before you enjoy all the jaw dropping scenery when you step out of the front door. Situated in the heart of the beautiful village of Castleton, right next to the stream and enjoying a superb location near the 6 local pubs and numerous cafes. We have one double room for you to enjoy, with en-suite shower room. You can walk out of the door and be on a footpath within minutes.
“Nicola's accommodation is lovely! Beautiful annexe to quaint cottage. Mini kitchen with equipment & lounge for sole use. Large bedroom, comfortable bed & en suite shower room. Very clean throughout. Just perfect for us! Nicola sent useful information for our arrival & was very welcoming. Free drink on arrival was a nice touch, as was supply of tea, coffee, milk, etc in the kitchen. Everything at least as good as described and in photos. Thoroughly recommended. We were only there for one night but it would be a perfect base to explore the beautiful Peak District.”
Open plan living with a galleried bedroom and en-suite bathroom. We are next door on hand, but not obtrusive - we prefer to give you privacy. Bakewell is steeped in fascinating history; plenty to see and do, you can enjoy a day out visiting Derbyshire's jewel, Chatsworth House or Haddon Hall (Tudor Manor House) and the Monsal Trail is on your doorstep. The Bothy is perfect for you to explore both the White and Dark Peak.
“Marion’s place is amazing! I stayed here alone and felt completely safe. The house is wonderfully presented with lots of lovely touches. It’s 5 minutes from Bakewell town centre, with so many walks on your doorstop. Marion and Jeff are there to offer lots of suggestions too about what to do! If I return to the area I will definitely stay again!”
