Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Fitzroy

I stayed in this charming one-bedroom Fitzroy house while visiting my daughter and found it a lovely, well-located base. The bright downstairs area had a large back window and a small patio — perfect for nice weather. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked, even with milk for tea, and all linens and essentials were provided. The airy loft bedroom was comfortable and mostly quiet. The host was excellent — quick to respond and helpful with local tips. One caveat: there was active construction on both sides of the house. While not constant, some days included noise from heavy equipment and hammering, which might matter if you’re home during the day. Otherwise, a great stay just two blocks from the tram and easy walking distance to everything Fitzroy offers.

An immaculate residence in a quiet hidden nook but very close to Lygon St, supermarkets and the University, while a walk or tram ride into Melbourne's CBD. Peaceful, quiet and good value. Beautiful layout and use of space and - subjective view - a wonderful kitchen. Overall a fantastic find.

Great location, easy access to public transport and amenities. Beautifully decorated, a lovely space to escape to.

Really enjoyed our stay – the house is beautifully styled, in a great neighborhood, and easy to find with accessible parking. It’s a cozy, welcoming space that’s clearly well looked after. Just a heads up: the 2 bedrooms in the main house don’t have AC, so if you're sensitive to temperature, it might be worth considering the season before booking - there is AC in the main living area, but it's at the other end of the house. It was unseasonably warm in Melbourne during our stay, but we got through it alright. Kali was a fantastic host – super responsive and friendly, and since she lives next door, she was always around if we needed anything. Would happily stay again!

Naomi is a great host and her place is very comfortable. It’s a cute terrace with a modern upgrade in a quiet street. We enjoyed our stay and Naomi was very happy to help out when contacted.

Nice airbnb in a fantastic location in Melbourne! We enjoyed the old architecture of the building and the communication with the host was easy. Recommend for anyone staying in town!

Wow, what a great location. So close to the tram and to a huge park and playground. We made a couple of simple meals and found the kitchen had everything we needed. We LOVED the bathroom, bath, shower and plush towels. There was ducted a/c and a gas fireplace so we were toasty warm. We wish we could have stayed longer - we will definitely be back.

Katrina's place was absolutely ideal for my friend and I's week long stay. Location is so good, close to all the best spots for food and shopping (Smith, Brunswick and Gertrude st). The property is very spacious inside and has everything you need for feeling right at home. 110% would recommend and would definitely stay again. Thanks Katrina!

A nice, affordable stay near the city. Clean, spacious. Parking available with permit. Mr. Chappy was a pleasant surprise. Roz was friendly and helpful. Recommend.

Lewis went above and beyond what was required - we had long air flights across time zones so he made sure we had the instructions for the lock box. The flat is very close to lots of eateries and Lewis has details of which streets to look along. It’s close to the CBD and just opposite a large park, and the flat is lovely inside. A great place to stay.

We loved our stay here and the hosts Jared and Kristy were lovely and very responsive! Studio was nice, cozy and clean. It was more spacious than we expected for the 3 of us. Weather was freezing in Melb and a heater was also kindly set up for us. Location is fantastic, in front of the beautiful Carlton Gardens and easily walkable to the city and surrounding suburbs (e.g. Fitzroy). We left our car in the car park and walked everywhere we wanted. Lots of great restaurants and cafes nearby (also appreciated the recommendations by the hosts). Apartment complex is very secure (incl. car park). We'd like stay here when we visit Melb again in the near future.

We had such an amazing week staying at Julie’s beautiful home in Fitzroy. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel so welcome, with lots of little goodies and treats waiting for us, such a thoughtful lil touch! Julie was super responsive and accommodating, always quick to help with anything we needed, and even gave us a late checkout which we really appreciated. The house was so tidy and well-stocked with everything you could possibly need. Plus, the beds are super comfy and the sound system was great 😊 We had the best time and would definitely love to stay here again. Thanks so much for everything, Julie!

Jillian's space was thoughtful and well set out. Such quiet surrounds for city living. Park just down the street for beautiful walks with special directions from the hostess for the best views. Wonderfully modern bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom with the biggest shower you will ever find. Would recommend and definitely request to stay again in the future.

Such a great place, we felt right at home as soon as we walked in. The apartment was clean, well equipped and felt homely yet modern. The location is fantastic and we were able to explore the local area (including lots of cafe, restaurants and shops) by foot. We highly recommend this place!

What a beautiful place. It was the perfect location. If you’re a fan of the TV show Offspring, the pub where Billie and Mick got married is about 1 minute walk around the corner. This studio is so peaceful, so quiet and yet is at the centre of everything. James is the perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt straight at home. I will definitely stay here again.

Its an apartment with a magnificent view across Melbourne, right next to the incredible Victoria Market and the thumping heart of the centre of the city. Yet it is peaceful and quiet. The pool is long and lovely and there is a gym too. Selina was wonderful and responsive. Would definitely come back if I visited Melbourne again.

Kate's cosy apartment was super good. Restaurants, theaters, great shopping, transport and even parks all really close by. Really close. Great shower, comfy bed, and so many thoughtful extras that I never expected. Thanks Kate for a wonderful week.

My wife and I had great 5 day stay. Amanda was a great host and clear with her instructions. The unit is in a fantastic position, ultra quiet and close to all you need to do in Melbourne without the hustle and bustle of staying in the CBD. A great stay, just on the edge of China town, the food in the area is incredible. Aside from endless food and drink the stay itself was perfect. A great space, the photos of the place honestly don’t do it justice. Having a night in the high rise with the city views is just a good time all around. Grantley, was incredibly responsive and was flexible when we needed something. We would stay here again without thought. Truly sad to have to check out! Till next time.

We stayed 5 weeks in the apartment and loved it. It’s bright, airy and has everything we needed to feel at home. Great location in the heart of Hawthorn and so close to train station, trams and lots of great food places. Highly recommend.

Had the most wonderful, peaceful & rejuvenating stay at this apartment given its wonderful location by the Yarra Trail. Apartment was well appointed with stated amenities, bed was comfortable & all appliances functioned effectively. Appreciate the very flexible & generous check in/check out times, constant communication from host James. Undercover secure carpark added to the convenience as did the two nearby cafes & delightful stroll along the Yarra to the Collingwood Children’s Farm & The Convent cafes/restaurants. We will definitely stay again!
