The Alt Haus for writers, walkers & solo explorers

LeahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I absolutely loved my stay at Rebecca’s cabin. The cabin was stocked with all the necessary amenities, was well insulated and I felt completely tucked away in the lush green of the countryside. The environment was stunning and I couldn’t get enough of the view straight to the sea. I wanted a tranquil, relaxing space to read nestled in nature and that’s exactly what I got! I hope to return to the cabin and that beautiful part of Cornwall.

The Cuddy

ChrisRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I loved staying in Anthony’s caravan. Anthony is the perfect host, and went out of his way to help out by picking me up from the Coast Path, taking me back via a shop (as there is no shop/pub in short walking distance) and dropping me back at the path the next day. The caravan is fully of little treasures and lovely details, there is a microwave, toaster and kettle, and Anthony provided a good tea and coffee selection and a selection of breakfast cereals and treats. Some taller people might find the bed a little short (as caravan beds tend to be!) although it was fine for me at 5ft7

Gwynver Beach House

Tom & AliceRating, 5 stars12 months ago
Brilliant place. It’s remote but we wanted that. The beach below is beautiful and quiet, a lot of steps so you need to be fit to use regularly! The house is otherwise so spacious and each room having its own en-suite is a huge bonus if you are a big family. It’s also really soundproof so was handy to be up with my young kids and not wake the rest of the house up. If you surf it’s a brilliant spot as Gwynver is a great spot that works well when it’s small everywhere else. And the footpath over to sennen cove is about 30-40 minute walk and completely stunning. All in all a really incredible home, perfect for an active family of wanting to be among the beautiful nature of the far south west. Thanks so much for a really memorable trip

Peaceful location and ideal for us with the dog as it had a lovely outside area and quiet road in front. Parking is right next to cottage. House very clean, fresh and organized. Would recommend.

Eco-friendly Cornish sanctuary

KatarinaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a fantastic time in Paul's place. It had everything we needed and were surrounded by beautiful nature. It was hard to believe we were so close to all of the local beauty spots that we wanted to visit and in the school holidays. It felt so peaceful and remote. A true sanctuary. We also really appreciated the quality of finishes and items provided. The natural cleaning products were very effective and a delight to use. Every detail was clearly very well thought through. We hope to be back someday.

The cottage is really great. It's cozy with lots of character. We had a fantastic stay and enjoyed walks on the beach, surfing and short trips to local landmarks and towns. I hope we can get back there before too long!

Spacious, cosy cottage, walk to 3 beaches

KelseyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had such an amazing stay! The house was absolutely beautiful — you can tell so much thought has gone into every detail. It’s perfectly designed. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the fire in the living room was a highlight. After long days at the beach, we loved coming back, lighting the fire, and watching films as a family. The kids didn’t want to leave — and honestly, neither did we! The hosts were super responsive and lovely throughout. We really hope to come back again in the future.

Riviera High Tide

CarolineRating, 5 stars3 months ago
This is my third time staying at Riviera High Tide, having previously stayed in Feb 2015 & 2016. The apartment has been maintained to a high standard and is a relaxing little hide away. There are good views of the cove with the beach and the South West Coastal Path on the doorstep. The welcome pack of flowers, a card, tea, coffee, wine, milk, biscuits and a cream tea was a very lovely touch. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering. Importantly for winter, the property is nice and warm.
