Vacation rentals with lake access in City of Carlisle

The location is fantastic and there is another route if you dont fancy the very steep hill up to the property. There was enough space for all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool table and hot tub as the weather was intermittent!! There was a small issue with the heating which the hosts responded to immediately. A great central base for exploring.

Clean and well equipped large house, perfect for 5 couples celebrating a 60th bday. Large communal space for eating in and socialising. Pubs and restaurants in walking distance (20min walk). We were blessed with fabulous weather and fortunately had taken camping chairs as other than an outdoor dining table with bench seating there were no other outdoor seats, so go prepared if the forecast is good. Separate pool table room was a welcome bonus. Would thoroughly recommend.

Had a great time staying here with some friends for a long weekend in the Lake District. Really unique house, and easy access to great hikes.

The apartment is great and very comfortable, and had everything we needed for a good stay. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed walks to the lakes and also to trails which can be accessed from the from the front door.

Such a fantastic stay at Elizabeth’s place. Truly a home away from home. Such a beautiful house, with stunning decor, very well equipped kitchen, perfect sun trap garden area and very clean throughout. Elizabeth was an exemplar host with such detailed recommendations and really lovely welcoming gifts. The location of the house is absolutely perfect. Would recommended in a heartbeat. We’ll definitely be back!

parking for 2 cars was perfect. location was great and so quiet and yet in the centre of everything.

What can I say? Booking was very easy. Kyle was very helpful and communicative. The house was easy to find and a perfect distance away from the location of our family wedding. Everything that you need is within walking distance. Entering and exiting was really easy and the house had everything that we needed as a family of 5 consisting of 4 adults and one child. We were four separate, senior girlfriends and had enough room and enjoyed the location and easy communication with Elisabeth. We had an issue that Elizabeth helped us to resolve. The location is wonderful for enjoying the town or walking straight from the house to and around the lake, driving or walking to Castlerigg stone circle or heading out on an adventure which we did when we drove to Buttermere and then onto St. Bee’s through the windy country roads! The home had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We would have enjoyed a higher quality set of linens in the bedrooms and bath towels as well but for a four night stay everything was fine. I recommend staying at Elisabeth’s home in Keswick.

We stayed here when we were visiting the area for a wedding. It was a great location and incredibly clean and tidy. Staying here made the 7 hour drive from Devon very worth it and we would stay again if we’re ever in the area!

Peter was very helpful, and the check-in process was easy. We arrived early, and when I mentioned this to Peter, he told me that I could check in right away if the cleaner had finished. Scafell View had everything we needed. There was onsite private parking so guaranteed an easy space opposite the property and the apartment is a good size with everything you need. There were 3 of us staying and it great base from which to explore the local area and the views are amazing, especially the night sky! Sharon provided clear instructions on how to find the property with some suggestions and helpful info in the apartment. The only thing I'd ask for would be a few more adult board games for the evenings.

Great little stay walking distance from the train station. Lovely, quiet home was everything we needed!

Me and Dan had a fantastic stay. We would love to stay again and will be recommending it to family and friends. Such a lovely and peaceful place to stay with fantastic views.

It was a comfortable space for 2 people, kitchen was small but very functional. Small bathroom but had a good size shower and great hot water. Overall a perfect flat very close to Windermere shops etc

Western Lakes are delightful. Loved being here. Some truly spectacular local walks and the coast was a definite bonus, as was the weather which was 20+ and sunny the whole week. Super cosy cottage in great location!

We absolutely loved our stay on the farm. The location is easy to find and is beautiful, within a five minute walk to the shores of the lake. Jonathon was responsible, friendly and informative with his communication prior to arrival. The loft itself is absolutely beautiful inside and out and the photos don't do it justice. It's clean, spacious (2 of us) and has stunning views looking over the lake and the Old Man. There is a cafe on site and although we didn't have time to try any food, it looked lovely. We will definitely be revisiting this beautiful part of the lakes again and highly recommend the site. Our only criticism was the mattress, which wasn't to our taste and felt a little old.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. This was our third stay - the cottage is perfect for our family of four plus a dog. Despite some wet weather, we happily filled a week with swims in the loch/play on the boats, lovely walks around the farm tracks, biking at the nearby bike tracks, visiting waterfalls and castles. The cottage had everything we needed, it was very spacious and the lovely log burner kept us cosy on the cool evenings. Joe and Sue were both super helpful hosts, making us feel very welcome, and we would definitely like to stay again.

Our second stay in Ridgeway Cottage; we love the stunning views from the huge picture windows and the convenient location for exploring the Lakes. We may be back again!

This was our second stay at The Haven and it was just as lovely as we remembered! Beautiful surroundings and extremely clean, the property had everything we needed. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning in the future!

Where to start. If you're looking at staying in Ambleside then look no further. Couldn't really ask for more, everything you need is right at your doorstep, yet just set back out of the centre that it's peaceful. The old wash house really has everything you would want. The courtyard outside is the perfect place to have your morning coffee or evening drink, with beautiful views and morning and evening sun. A charming little place where i am sure I will Stay again in the future.

Teapot Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. It was very well kitted out, decorated very nicely, and had lots of nice touches to make our stay even better. Lammisa was a great host - very responsive and friendly, and was happy to help whenever needed. There's great local amenities within walking distance, and several local villages and towns within a short drive, including Ennerdale Lake. The place was very comfortable, with plenty of seating indoor and out, with several comfy beds suitable for a group of adults. The only thing to be aware of is that the bedroom with the bunk beds has very little storage space, so if you're staying for a few days and have a large bag/suitcase - you'll need to find somewhere else to put it! Overall - we were all very pleased with this stay and we'd definitely book again in future.
