Explore Ancient West Cornwall From a Charming Apartment

Awaken in a bright, cheerful space with views of a quaint village from first floor windows. A cottage-like feel is created by painted wood panelling and traditional furnishings designed for comfort. Have breakfast at table nestled under a skylight. Situated in a peaceful Cornish village, Little Anvil occupies a central position (both the north and south coast are within easy reach) ideal for exploring beautiful West Cornwall. A newly converted first-floor apartment which forms part of the owners 18th century cottage, one of the oldest in the village. With its own private entrance, the apartment is full of character, with luxurious touches and modern appliances - a welcoming and comfortable place to return to after your day out. In addition to this we are next door to the village pub, where you can relax with a drink in the beer garden, have a meal or chat with locals. The pub also has a small shop for essential supplies. The open plan living/kitchen area is well equipped with a large flat screen, Smart TV for relaxing in the evening, plus a Bluetooth speaker for your music and free wi-fi. If you like to cook the kitchen/dining area facilities include an induction hob, full size oven, large fridge-freezer and dishwasher. There is also a washer-dryer should you need it, and heating for the colder months. The bedroom is decorated in a relaxing French style with a king-size bed, luxurious linen, and an en-suite shower room. If you are bringing your dog with you there is an enclosed outdoor courtyard area for convenience, which also has a covered storage area for bicycles/kayak. The nearest town is the historic market town of Helston (4 miles), famous for its Spring celebration - Flora Day. The thriving and pretty coastal town of Falmouth is a short drive (for visitors to the University campus, it is only a 10min drive) and the beautiful port of Porthleven with its many fine restaurants is also within a 15-20minute drive. Nearby is the stunning coastline of The Lizard Peninsula, or you could travel towards the evocative and mysterious landscape of West Penwith, stopping to visit St Michaels Mount on your way to unforgettable St Ives and beyond. West Cornwall has so many stunning places to visit, that we hope you will want to return time and again. Sole and private access to all areas of apartment with own private entrance and key for coming and going! The apartment also has an enclosed courtyard area with storage for bikes if required. Available to help if required, if we are not in - just give us a call and we'll get right back to you. The apartment is in the village of Porkellis, close to art and culture, restaurants, a beach, and family-friendly activities. West Cornwall is known for its heathland, golden sand, artists' colonies, ancient stone circles, and Iron Age villages. We are in a rural location, so a car is highly recommended. However there is a bus stop just outside the apartment, but village buses are mysterious infrequent animals. The nearest town is Helston, approx 4 miles, and the nearest train station, Redruth is 8 miles. The A30, which is the main road connecting Cornwall with the rest of the UK is approx 10 miles. Nearest ferry port is Plymouth (50 miles) and the nearest Airport is Newquay (31 miles). The nearest international airport is Bristol (166 miles) The apartment has its own entrance and courtyard and is adjacent to the main house which is occupied by the owners.

This unique cosy cabin is surrounded by the trees with its own entrance and self check-in. It is only a few minutes drive from the sea and the many beautiful beaches of Falmouth. The village and surrounding area has an abundance of quality pubs and restaurants serving local produce. Stithians village has 2 shops, a pub, post office and is ideally situated for touring Cornwall and National Trust sites. The North and South coast are close by and there are many ideal walks and cycle routes. There is also sailing and water sports on Stithians Reservoir.

We had a wonderful stay and were so impressed with Debra’s hospitality. Communication was excellent—she provided all the info we needed in advance and was always quick to respond. On arrival, Debra welcomed us warmly, showed us around, and was kind, calm, and accommodating. She mentioned her friendly spaniel dogs but was very considerate, offering to keep them indoors if guests aren’t comfortable around dogs. We met “Pickle” a few times—she’s adorable and very well-behaved! The house was stunning—beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches throughout. It had everything we needed and was perfect for a peaceful getaway. The views were amazing, and we were lucky to catch a few gorgeous sunsets. We celebrated my birthday weekend here, and it couldn’t have been more special. Even after we checked out, Debra messaged to wish us a safe journey, which was such a lovely gesture. A truly memorable experience—highly recommended!

We had a lovely stay at Trewince House, would highly recommend it. The apartment was clean, comfortable and tidy, with a comfy bed and a hot shower. The kitchen was well equipped, the lounge is light and airy. The apartment is part of a beautiful house, with a large attractive garden, perfectly situated to enjoy the peaceful location, and starry nights, weather permitting. A very narrow lane approaches the house but it’s not too long. Port Navas is a little jewel just waiting to be discovered. Susan gave us good local knowledge for walks, places to eat etc, and was always quick to respond to any queries. We can highly recommend the delightful little PN Yacht Club, where dress is casual, the food and ambience really good. Special mention to Melissa who makes everyone feel welcome. Would definitely book in advance. Had delicious fish and chips at the Ferry Boat Inn. Would also recommend a cruise with Hetty, from Helford River Cruises, who was friendly and knowledgeable.

We loved our stay in the cottage. It felt like a proper Cornish countryside cottage. It is detached with a very private and peaceful garden, with great views over the countryside. The plants and flowers in the garden are really lovely. We enjoyed sitting in the conservatory in the evening. There is also a lovely log burner for cooler days. Loads of wood provided too. The kitchen is brilliant and has a washer / tumble dryer and dishwasher. Hose pipe outside too to wash sand off your shoes etc. We have a dog so It was nice to give her a wash when we came back from our days out. There is a bridleway just near the house which is nice for an evening walk. Great location too. Very close to Falmouth, Trebah, Helford area, but also close to Lizard, Porthleven, Marazion etc. We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage and the warm hospitality from the hosts. They provided a lovely welcome pack and they were on hand to help us if we asked for anything. Lovely house and experience.
