Midways, Stunning Retreat in the Heart of Bowness

DavidRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We did a lot of different activities in the Lake district but the house was the highlight of our trip, we’d have been happy just to spend the whole time in the house. The house has been designed to get the most out of the views and the decor is amazing too, it is really clean and feels brand new. I’d say it is definitely worth paying a bit more to stay here over anywhere else in the local area, and we will be returning at some point in the future, we miss the house already. Also Team Laik and the owners are all fantastic, communicate well and make everything easy, so if you haven’t used Airbnb before I’d go with these, you can use the messaging system on the app and get a response almost straight away should you have any questions.

Fern Bank, Wasdale, Cumbria for Walkers and Hikers

JonathanRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Excellent location, very tranquil with views of the fells. Very convenient for walking the main peaks. The house was as described, the beds very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. There were even some teabags and cooking oil there which i had forgotten to bring! Hilary was super helpful and always responded promptly to our queries. The only downside of the house is the size of the downstairs rooms. It was perfect for us as a party of four, but larger groups might struggle to fit everyone into just one living room or eating area, although there is plenty of both across all the downstairs rooms. Thanks for a great stay Hilary.

2 bed cottage with fell views

KirrilyRating, 5 stars4 days ago
A fabulous location from which to explore the Lake District. The place was super clean, comfortable, great amenities provided and very easy instructions to follow. Loved the outdoor area at the back for early mornings or late evenings. Sleeping in the front bedroom there was some traffic noise from the fairly busy road. Blackout curtains was also be a welcome addition for the summer months and the loooong daylight hours.

Welcoming Cottage near Scafell & Wasdale Head

MarcusRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
A lovely house. The hard flooring is perfect for groups likely to have muddy boots. we were a group of four sixty somethings having a room to ourselves ,all the bedrooms are well furnished so need to argue about who got the best room. The garden is a hidden jewel. sadly theweather didn't allow to use it but that's the lakes. It wasn't until the last day that it became obvious why the cottage has the name it does, that was a lovely bonus. A perfect base for visiting the lakes.

Bank View

GraceRating, 5 stars1 month ago
A sweet little cottage - it is small, but it didn't feel cramped and who needs space inside when you have so much space in the great outdoors! There's a wonderful view of Lingmore Fell and sitting on the bench outside the cottage in the evening sun was a treat at the end of a long day hiking. I'm not a fan of baths in bedrooms, but was extremely grateful for the bath and masses of hot water to soak tired muscles. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was of a high standard, the kitchen had all the utensils we needed - even the knives were sharp! It is a small kitchen with not a lot of worktop space, but for making small meals it was perfectly adequate. All in all a great place in a perfect location.

Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

BridgetRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A beautiful house in a lovely setting, great for family get togethers, location right on the lake was amazing, & easy access to lovely local town of Glenridding for essentials. Wide range of facilities at the cottage, we really enjoyed the private outdoor eating area next with the wood fired outdoor grill. Very nice well appointed kitchen with quality appliances, bathrooms clean and with quality fittings. Outside garden/woodland area was perfect for us and our dog, although the many steps and steep paths would not suit everyone, but this factor is clearly explained in the information host provides. We found some rooms a little dark, especially on a rainy day but there are some lovely lamps which can be moved around if required. Overall I would recommend this cottage as a great place to stay & enjoy the lake district and all it has to offer.

Beautiful cottage in the lakes(Stonecroft Cottage)

JennaRating, 5 stars3 days ago
We absolutely enjoyed our stay in this cottage! It was beautiful, peaceful, and had everything you could need plus more. There were fresh eggs and flowers, chocolates, and butter and milk in the fridge for us. We felt right at home and relaxed. It was also VERY clean and the WiFi worked great. The area is beautiful! Loretta and Max were such kind hosts and I couldn’t recommend this place more.

The Ullswater View

MattRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We have just returned home from 4 nights at Julie's ex-guesthouse and we absolutely loved it. We were a group of 5 adults, a 9 year old and 18 month old and there was space for all of us. Each room has its own ensuite and the kitchen is well stocked. The whole place was very clean and the utility room is also massive which helps if you need to do any washing while staying there. We will definitely look to use Julie's place again in the future. Julie replied in good time to any messages and is very friendly. Highly recommend as a great place to get around the Lakes from too.

This was a great first time experience for us, as we usually stay in hotels and this was the first time we booked a house. And it did not disappoint us, it was clean, and it had things for entertainment aswell such as games and books. The garden was pretty with river Eskdale passing by. The view from the house is also very beautiful, the drive to the place is also really pretty. I mean everything was a perfection.
