Shepherds hut vacation rentals in Somerset

Had the best couple of days staying at the hut, was greeted by Alexandra who was extremely friendly and helpful she showed us the facilities and hut. hut itself was a lovely little place, we could've happily stayed for longer. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely stay again, thanks so much :)

Sam's place was a joy to stay at! It's an annexe of an old house on the high street with a lovely bedroom overlooking a courtyard and a spacious living room and kitchen area which overlook the garden. The garden is full of fruit trees and wonderful plants and is very well tended. A bathroom and a second toilet made getting out in the morning easy as well. Castle Cary is a wonderful town (recommend the Somerset Wine Company and the Gallery which Sam and his wife run!) We did use the jacuzzi (for an additional fee) and sitting in there listening to the live jazz from the bar and looking at the stars was a dream. We made a new friend in Bobby (the dog) who just wanted to play fetch Loved our night there and would happily return!

I had a wonderful stay. There has been some storm damage to the hut I was due to stay in so Linda called me and let me know she had plenty of other options and put me in a wonderful alternative hut. The hut was spotless, warm (with enough wood to keep me warm all weekend) and cosy. Linda was very friendly and responsive. Moonfleet is a beautiful place to spend some time away from normal life and feel in the country side. I can’t wait to go back!

We had the best time here! Penny and Ant were so welcoming and kind. They gave us maps and recommended nice walks in the area which was so helpful. The shepherds hut itself was perfect, really cosy with the wood fire stove and great selection of games. It has everything you need, nice hot shower and Penny provides delicious breakfast food and scones. Such a special place, can’t recommend enough!

We had a lovely couple of nights in the Everdene shepherd's hut. It was so peaceful, with stunning views. The hut itself was spotless, and spacious enough for the three of us ( 2 adults, one child ). The shepherd's huts are set aside in a separate area to the main camping pitches. It has a log burner and fire pit, with plenty of logs available. The shared bathrooms were very clean, modern, and spacious. We didn't have any real queries, but Linda was responsive to messages, and we met her in person after we'd arrived, when she seemed to be walking around the site, checking her guests were ok. Moonfleet Farm is a great location for exploring Dorset. The Fox pub is a 10 minute walk away, across a couple of fields. We plan to return in the October Half-term!

We loved our stay at Adam's hut. It was in a great location and very cosy. the bed was really comfortable and the shower is large and easy to use. Adam had provided all the essentials needed and the hut was thoughtfully presented in a price little green area of it's own. We didn't actually meet Adam (my fault entirely) but he was a very welcoming, helpful and responsive host. The area is really lovely, the hut is in the pretty village of Porlock and there is plenty to do in the area! We recommend the Valley of the Rocks walk which is wonderful, exploring pretty Lynmouth and Lyton, taking the Lynmouth and Lyton cliff railway and walking from Whetton Cross to Dunkery beacon (it's a beautiful walk!). A rather wonderful find! The Rumple Hut has been well thought out and very well equipped! The bed is very comfortable, having a snuggle sofa has been brilliant! The hot tub is a real bonus. Anthony has been very informative regarding where to visit and what is around in the surrounding area. On our arrival, we were greeted with freshly baked bread and scones drinkies 😋Delicious! We really felt spoilt! The Rumple Hut was very relaxing and was a fantastic stay! Highly recommend!

absolutely perfect, booked this for my partners birthday & he loved his surprise, as did i.. the pictures does not to its justice, it was so beautiful. even had a little hamper left for us, nice little touch. we went for a drive into Brean & come back in the evenings lit the fires and toasted marshmallows where was left for us and then chilled by the fire and watched fireworks going off from a distance.. it would’ve been the perfect time for my partner to propose.. ha! but all that being said, ive had over 10+ people on my social media asking where i was staying, so ive already gave the link to them all so fingers crossed you’ll be getting more bookings as you deserve. Sean, Mel, and Leon were some of the best hosts we’ve ever encountered, warm, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming. They went above and beyond with lovely touches like complimentary drinks, chocolates, and a stunning handwritten card that made the experience feel extra special. The building itself is breathtaking, beautifully designed and impeccably done. Every detail feels curated to create a peaceful, luxurious haven. The bathrobe was plush and cozy, adding to the overall feeling of indulgence and care. It’s also just a short walk into the quaint town, which has so much charm, and it was really easy to get to from Bristolm the perfect little getaway. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Absolutely beautiful location, so wonderful to wake up to that view with sheep grazing metres away. The kids loved the shepherd’s hut as did we, and they played non-stop on the grass outside. Perfect amenities and equipment. Beds, pillows and duvet were so comfortable. Our 6 year old loved the tennis game as well.

Just got back after spending the weekend here was so relaxing , was spotless had everything you would need Kates very responsive and there to answer any euphoria might have , it’s true what other reviews had mentioned waking up in the morning to the cows outside❤️ there’s was marshmallows and sticks which we used with the fire pit after we got out the hot tub ,once heated after just over two hours stayed warm for hours was so relaxing , also the bed was so comfortable making me now question my own bed . Already looking into booking next month such a nice break and well worth the money

Fantastic place to stay to be immersed in nature and to get away from it all. Lovely hilly woodland glade with springs and river running close by. I found the roads good for cycling. Beautiful area, and private, cosy wagon with everything there including towels, cooking area, running water, compost loo, outdoor hot shower and bath. Lots to go out and see in the area too.

Great, friendly hosts who welcomed us on arrival. The locally sourced breakfast ingredients were great, alongside a freshly baked sponge cake and Somerset Apple Juice. The Shepherds Hut was beautiful with the decor 1940s vintage style which went perfectly with Esmes story. Every detail thought out perfectly. Crisp linen, soap and shower gel provided, hairdryer and lots of available wood (£6 per bag) for the wood burner, pizza oven and hot tub. The garden was secluded and a perfect backdrop for listening to the birds singing, while sipping a cold Somerset Cider in the hot tub. Toasting marshmallows (provided by host) took us back to childhood days. Great wi-fi reception - although you switch off from modern day life and enjoy the surroundings. The Cider Barn just down the road provided music on Friday night and local cider so good that you have to take some home. A short drive away is the Jurassic coast, perfect for a day at the beach. Great stay. We will return.

We stayed in the hut called collie. It was absolutely stunning and was so lovely to stay it. Surrounded by nature and animals. Lovely view, hot tub was amazing. The bed was very comfy and everything you needed inside. Thank you so much!

Fabulous place that is beyond what you would expect from a Shepherd’s Hut. Great thought and attention to detail has clearly gone into building and designing this place. It’s deceptively spacious and has got everything you need and more, the hot tub and outside seating are real bonuses, all in all a fabulous spot.

Thoroughly recommend a visit to the Shepherd's Hut! We had a 3 night minimoon and it was nothing short of idyllic. There were lovely thoughful touches on our arrival. The view out from the Hut is spectacular, and the carefully tended garden and patio were beautiful to sit out in and enjoy the sunshine. Very comfy bed. Friendly and helpful hosts. We can't wait to come back again for anniversary trips!

My partner and I decided to be spontaneous one night and book a get away. This is our first time using air bnb or doing anything like this. I’m glad we chose this as our first trip! Robert was such a gentleman, the hut was clean and had everything we needed along with being well presented and the location was easy to find. All round great experience from start to finish. We will defiantly be coming here again. Thank you to yourself and your family for the little treats and the fire pit is incredible! Thanks again Lewis & Jessie

Immaculate accommodation-I needed strength to pull bed down and the table up but knew Sarah was over the road if I got stuck! The setting was magical and the easy access walking ideal. I’m only sad my partner wasn’t there to share it with me-maybe next time 😊

Great little hide away, the cabin was tidy and spacious even with the bed down. The fixtures are beautiful and the dimmer switch really adds another level of chill to the space. would definitely recommend for a relaxing romantic getaway for couples!

Sally was a great host, welcomed us in and explained everything so we could make the most of the amenities. She recommended great places to go and the shepherd's hut was lovely and cosy. Can't ever go wrong with a hut tub too! Would stay again!

This was the most relaxing couple of nights away! The shepherds hut was incredible and filled with everything you possibly need. Claire and Kate were great hosts at the end of the phone whenever you needed them! Would definitely recommend to anyone.
