Guesthouse vacation rentals in Shenandoah Valley

An extremely welcoming place that had many things to do and accommodating our autistic children very well! It was a shame we didn't get the chance to make s'mores! We would love to come back to this place sometime since it is so peaceful and homey! We watched older movies that we forgot about! Thanks for the DVDs!

I just moved to Richmond for a new job but the lease on my apartment has begun yet. Glenn’s place was the perfect in between for me while settling into my new job. It was secluded from the main house, plenty of space for one person and a nice retreat after work.

We were looking for options to stay locally for our son's graduation weekend at Hampden-Sydney. He had done volunteer work at Bright Eyes during his junior year, and recommended we check out their rental unit. So glad we did! We were only a few minutes from the college, and our experience was fantastic! Cindy and Bill allowed us to check in a bit early so we could get dressed for Friday evening's baccalaureate service. The unit was above the garage and entry is through the farm gift shop, but the the accommodations exceeded our expectations. Clean, well furnished, nice touches like provided snacks and three fresh farm eggs show they truly care for their guests. It is a working alpaca farm, and there are great views of the animals from the bath and deck. They introduced us to the alpacas after Saturday's graduation ceremony and were extremely accommodating and informative hosts. A truly memorable experience, and would definitely visit again before any of the local hotels!

We spent two nights at David’s place and it was a wonderful place to come back to after a long hike. The cottage was clean and cozy, but the one of the highlights of our trip was watching the sunset on the patio. The property is spectacular! Also bonus points for the mini muffins! Thank you for a great stay!

we had an action packed week and Rebecca's place was a serene, comfortable place to come back to each evening. When all three teenagers tell you the beds were "the best" you know you've got a hit. Trillium Acres is well supplied with quality furnishings and special little touches that made us feel wanted and welcomed. I would recommend Rebecca's Trillium Acres to anyone traveling to this area of WV.

We enjoyed our stay in Masha's delightful Urban Cottage and would definitely consider booking there again. It was a lovely atmosphere surrounded by trees in a forest setting, while still being easily accessible from DC.

I have to say this was our first Airbnb experiene but it was fantastic. Everything was clean and ready when we arrived which was great since in the past we haven't had great experiences with hotels including some rather expensive ones. The location is perfect for getting to a lot of different places within a 30 minute drive. If I had to say one negative it would be there are some spiderwebs on the ceiling and I did find one on the floor that jumped on me but we took care of that one, but it's to be expected when your kinda in the woods so I wasn't really worried. I did notice a little bit if black specs on the AC vents but we didn't have to really use it for our stay so it was okay. I felt like any issues or even questions we would have had they would have answered/fixed no problems. I would definitely stay here again on our next trip if it was available.

Our second stay here, and we'll definitely be coming back for more. The place has everything you could wish for-- art supplies, musical instruments, a well-stocked kitchen, grilling supplies, and an incredible sculpture garden. The hosts were so responsive and thoughtful. We felt welcomed and cared for throughout the entire experience.

First, Anne and Jim were outstanding hosts- they immediately made my son and l feel at home. The place was spotless with all the appliances anyone would need. Combine this with a beautiful view of the lake and good fishing, makes it one of the better places we’ve stayed, and l’d recommend it to anyone.

We only stayed for 1 night but would definitely have enjoyed more. Pretty much everything you needed was provided. The cabin was clean and cozy ! The bathroom was spacious and well stocked. Bed was comfy and big enough for our daughter to sleep with us. Surrounding area was simple and pretty farmland. We loved meeting Shea !

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful weekend at Scott and Christi's place. It's very peaceful and we appreciated how friendly and helpful they are. There are ducks, horses, and chickens on the property which you can appreciate from the screened-in porch while sipping your coffee. The drive to Charlottesville is relatively short and very scenic; the house is also close to many popular wineries. We also got some snacks upon our arrival! I appreciate the little ways Scott and Christi went the extra mile to make our stay an enjoyable one!

Kaitlyn and I really enjoyed our stay. Within hours of arrival, we decided to extend our stay. Next year, when we return to the area, we look forward to staying again! The loft, the property, and the community were absolutely charming, and perfect for exploring, picnics, and flying kites. Everything was cozy and beautiful. Great place for a small group. Quiet place that worked out really well for our late sleeping schedules. Would definitely come back if we come to DC again.

The Taj Garage never disappoints! We first stayed here about three years ago and its standards have not dropped since. Highly recommend this darling accommodation.

I had a great stay at Tracey Cottage Lofty. The space was clean, quiet, and exactly as described perfect for a peaceful getaway or work trip. Check-in was smooth, and the host was very responsive and accommodating throughout my stay. The environment felt safe and welcoming, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. Our little getaway was great! Cute little guesthouse with cozy feel. Everything was easy to navigate and use.

La Casita was perfect for our needs. It’s great for a couple of small family and packs a lot into a small space. The house is well-maintained and is in a great location for events at UVA, as well as easy access to downtown Charlottesville. Laura was friendly and responsive, and provided clear instructions and useful information. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful weekend especially for my first time in VA! We were in town for the Storming of Thunder Ridge Memorial Bike Ride. Hunter went above and beyond hosting us and giving us great information about the area, where my daughter could do a warm up ride and super accommodating with her dog. The back patio was beautiful and peaceful! The neighborhood was safe and very close to town and the ride. I just wish that we could have stayed longer! We will definitely be back!

Sue’s Place is a real gem. It features the most beautiful setting overlooking the Virginia Blueridge. We’ve stayed there three times now. It’s clean, comfortable and well equipped. Sunset on the deck with a bottle of wine is a memorable experience.

Beautiful farm cabin, huge property to walk around, all amenities needed for a relaxing weekend, and probably the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever walked into … Definitely recommend.

Kelly & Phil were incredible hosts who went above and beyond to give us a comfortable memorable stay! Whether offering restaurant recommendations, stocking the fridge with dairy free drinks and snacks, or bringing a beautiful breakfast of pastries and homemade jam each morning, they showed their thoughtfulness and generosity in all they did. Their property is secluded and gorgeous and has the lovely perk of their two sweet dogs. We’re so grateful they shared their home with us, and we would absolutely stay again any time we’re in the area. We can’t recommend the Cottage enough!

This place was such an amazing place to stay. The location was beautiful and the house itself was gorgeous. Doug was an incredible host and tended to any needs immediately. Can't talk this place up enough. highly recommend to anyone wanting a nice break away into the country.
