Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in San Francisco

The location was truly perfect -- excellent restaurants, cafes, bakeries, etc. Walk to UC Berkeley was about 10 to 15 minutes, to Rockbridge BART was about 20 minutes. Emily was a super nice host and helped me with local tips and informations.

What a delightful stay! Leda is a fantastic host, and her home is absolutely a great find. So quiet and safe. The house backs up onto a salt water lagoon—it’s a nature lover’s paradise. The beds are the best, excellent sleep is in your future here. The location is conveniently located to jump on the light rail to the ferry building and then San Francisco, or go to the Marin coast, or Sonoma. One should not let this opportunity pass by.

I booked this rental of behalf of family members who were visiting San Francisco for an extended 9 day stay over the holidays. Martina’s place is an easy 10 minute walk from my own home which made it a perfect location to have family close by. The rental unit, which is downstairs from the main residence, is as advertised and looks just like the photos. Upon arrival, Martina met us to walk us through the property and make sure everything went smoothly. She was super helpful and responsive to any questions throughout the stay. The apartment was very cozy and good size. One thing worth noting is that you need to walk outside (on the back porch) to get between the two bedrooms. This was not an issue but might be say for parents with small children. Each bedroom had a fridge and bathroom, so the separation actually provides additional privacy, if that’s what you are looking for. The outside space, particularly the hot tub & attached sauna were especially enjoyed. Great stay!

Danna is a lovely host! She made delicious breakfast and also hosted house dinners, where she made a simple but delicious 3-course meal! The room is beautiful and has a stunning view. I also love the neighborhood. I had a great time and hope to be back soon!

Loved returning to Skate and Jeannie's place after first visiting 9 years ago. The place was just as great as before though it was lovely to see the new additions to their arty garden, including the outdoor bathtub. I must also give a huge thanks for their above and beyond assistance in helping us to successfully track down some lost luggage.

Doug's place was a very cosy and safe plaxe to stay. i really enjoyed our few little chats and really loved the area! I definitely recommend it to others!

Book Bruce's listing! He and Alfredo clearly master the art of hospitality because for them it is Art. The attention to details to make you feel right at home is simply stunning giving that you are renting a room in their house all the while feeling like you are in your own house with intimacy when you need it. And those sheets felt like cloud hugs! There was no part of this perfectly-curated house that we didn't linger in: from the laundry room, to the lounging areas and particularly the hummingbird-filled garden where we spent countless hours. We would meet in their georgeous dining room for breakfast and go on with our activities with ease giving the quick access to any part of the City. Our (very) late check-in was a breeze after a warm welcome and were able to check-out late too. We felt like this was an experience through which we initiated a lifelong friendship.

Wonderful place to stay! If you’re needing a location directly on Main Street, this is it. It was extremely clean and comfortable and close to cunha’s country store for quick snacks or a bite from their deli (highly recommend) or a walk away from sacrilege for beer and food or San Benito house!

What can I say about Lana and her wonderful house/hosting? I lived with Lana and a virtual UN of other limited guests for six months. During that time, I acclimated to being back in California, being a full time Dad again, and working/looking for a job. Lana's unique blend of cozy and extraordinarily (yet relaxed) helpfulness came through in spades. It's a community as well as individual preferences. One thing that always is present is love. Lana truly enjoys what she's doing with AirBnB, and I have yet to meet someone - past or present - that doesn't find her and her home endearing. Indeed, she has even become like a virtual Grandmother to my two children. (Psst - she also unusually let me throw a small birthday party - I dressed as Mr. Incredible - and a small poetry party complete with black beret for poem readers!) I could go on and on, but perhaps it is better to end here on one last note. I will be sure to keep in touch Lana for years and always treasure the time I came to live with and know Lana. We stayed in the Renaissance Rose Suite at Mill Rose Inn and had a great time! As a host myself, I understand how important a good cleaning team can be, and our accommodations were impeccably clean when we arrived. Kudos to them! The Mill Rose Inn is charming, pleasant, and unique. Additionally, this place is located in a beautiful area that is very walkable. We absolutely enjoyed our stay!

Stayed for work. Would stay again in the future

Pamela and Richard went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and acquainted with the space. They met us for check in and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed many a wonderful conversation with them throughout our stay over breakfast which they thoughtfully set out each morning. Their house was stunning and walking distance from Piedmont and College Ave which made our stay very fun and easygoing. There were so many personal touches along the way, including homemade jam and honey with the breakfast. We would be honored to be able to stay again sometime.

We loved our stay in Carolyn’s lovely home. It was modern and tastefully decorated. The entire house was sparkling clean and in very good location. The owner Carolyn was very nice and warm. Highly recommended.

Xenia’s apartment was very easy to find and incredibly well located—right near all the main transportation options in the area. The bed is super comfortable, and the bathroom is fully equipped with everything you might need, including shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. There’s also access to laundry facilities and a fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils you could possibly need. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet stay at a great price.

Perfect host and property. Felt like home!

Darcy's and Nick's is a true b&b in the old-school sense. My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous, home-cooked breakfast every morning. The breakfast selection changed every day. As guest Dave-from-Bozeman wrote, Darcy bakes awesome sourdough bread, and it was freshly out of the oven for us to enjoy when we arrived. So, our stay started out on a high note (which was sustained throughout the stay). The space is clean, artfully decorated, comfortable, roomy, and the area is quiet. The location is great: about 1/2 block from Golden Gate Park. The hot tub on the upper patio was a delightful place to relax after long walks around the city. Darcy is the ultimate host (Nick was out of town, so unfortunately we did not get to meet him): she communicates quickly and clearly, and she is a great conversationalist. By the time we checked out, we had become friends with her. This was a 5-star stay in every aspect, and we look forward to our next stay at Darcy's and Nick's!
