Smart Townhouse Meets Quaint Cottage Close to the Sea

Hide out 150 yards from the beach in a Georgian townhouse. Set over 4 floors, it offers plenty of spots to retreat to, like a cosy living room with a log burner, an alfresco courtyard off a glossy blue kitchen, and a funky dining room on the lower ground floor. We use 'Little Bird' as a place to relax. With this in mind we have made the house as comfortable as we can. The house is set over four floors, on the ground floor is a sitting room with wood fired burner, TV and wi-fi which leads into the kitchen. The courtyard is accessed from here through double doors and has seating for four. On the first floor there is 1 double bedroom with a king size bed which can also be made into two single beds. Just let us know at the time of booking and we can sort this for you. The second floor has a king size bed and the room is open to the rafters. The basement has a dining table and chairs for 4 people. Whilst refurbishing the home, our aim was for this to feel like home from home. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided along with towels and Egyptian cotton bed linen. Plus there is a washer/dryer, dishwasher, mircrowave, fridge and freezer. There is a shower room but no bath however we can provide an inflatable bath for babies. Also for children is a travel cot, potty, high chair, baby gate for the stairs, a baby step for cleaning their teeth and reaching the basin. Guests are welcome to use all the areas and all the amenities. As the house is set over four floors there are 3 flights of stairs that may feel a little steep for the elderly - hand rails have been fitted and there are night lights for children. There is a stair gate available to restrict access to other floors if you have children (please ask for this when you book). We are available to talk to by phone at any time if there are problems, whilst not based in Deal we are nearby. As much as possible we like to greet our guests. In the heart of a conservation area, the surrounding streets and alleys are full of historic buildings that have remained untouched for centuries. Walk in minutes to the beach, or to the high street with its shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Free parking is available a short distance from the house, so unload at the house and then park. We find we rarely use the car when you are here as independent food stores and supermarkets are nearby. There are regular bus and train services within a 5-10 minute walk from the house. Deal is also really accessible with a high speed rail link to London in 1 hr 7 mins. There are ferries at Dover which go to the continent, you can even enjoy a day trip to Calais. The M20/A2 motorways easily accessible (20 minutes). We have fully refurbished the house in a stylish and contemporary way. Everything has been chosen with care and with comfort and practicality in mind. We stay at the house a lot and wanted it to feel like a proper home so if you want to cook you can or just snuggle on the sofa and read a book it's perfect. We also have wi-fi, a smart TV and Netflix's. A log-burner has recently been fitted in the living room. The bathroom has a shower complete with a separate attachment for bathing children (or yourself it you don't want to get your hair wet) - there is no bath. CHECK IN is 3pm with CHECK OUT at 11am. If we have no guests coming straight in, and subject to the changeover team- these can be amended to allow for an earlier check in and a later check out time. There are some basics in the house, as often when you go to self-catering accommodation and there is literally nothing so cupboard staples are provided. Washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets/salt/rinse aid, washing powder, toilet roll, kitchen roll. There are towels provided for guests, however please could you bring your own beach towels. Please note that at our most popular times of the year bookings are a minimum of 3 nights - please ask and on most occasions there is a discount applied for weekly bookings (less than the nightly rate x7 ).

The main living area was the former pub's saloon bar, and in tribute to the building’s rich history has been fitted with a copper-topped bar, a perfect place to enjoy a cocktail while looking out across the water. In keeping with the pub theme, there's a second “breakfast and coffee bar” next to the kitchen, an ideal spot for a leisurely morning read. The former beer cellar has been converted into a cinema and is now a secret haven to unwind and indulge a media fix. This is the second time we have stayed at Corrina’s holiday home and once again we found it to be squeaky clean, very well equipped, peaceful and a great location. The garden is home to a family of foxes, who were so confident, that they sunbathed on the lawn whilst we were sitting on the veranda. Corrina made us aware of check in details in very good time and left a number just in case we needed assistance, which I’m happy to say we didn’t need. The surrounding area is so lush and green, this time of year, and there is always plenty of interesting things to do nearby. We will visit again next year, but hopefully for longer this time. Thank you.

Nick responded almost immediately to messages and had the pool ready for us to use as and when we requested. The kids had so much fun in the pool, the floats and toys left out to use were an added bonus! House was spotless and perfectly equipped. Would definitely Recommend and would happily return. I stayed for my 30th birthday celebrations and had the best time ever. This place was perfect! the decor, the location, the surroundings and most importantly Karen and her husband was so friendly and lovely and ensured I had a special birthday. I’ve stayed at Airbnb’s before and I’ve never had a host as lovely as Karen was, the perfect host we could have wish for. The swimming pool was amazing and me and my family had a wonderful time enjoying it in the sun with a BBQ. The cottage was spotless and a welcome hamper was provided and every little detail was perfect. The garden area was beautiful through out the day and so peaceful and relaxing. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough, it was truly perfect and I will definitely be staying again and recommending to everyone I know! Thank you again for making it such a special birthday x

This was our second visit to the Lighthouse and it still is an amazing place, from the panoramic sea views to a lovely warm inviting home. A dip in the pool before breakfast, sitting with a coffee watching the seascape, as far as Essex and beyond, sunsets and so much more. I will make the same comment as I did last, this goes for the whole of our party across 3 generations and the dogs, the only bad thing about the Lighthouse is having to leave. Hopefully this will not be our last visit.

This house has absolutely everything you could ever want or need. Swimming pool is great and heated to a perfect temp for the kids. House is enormous and every little thing seems to have been thought of by the hosts including extras such as dressing gowns for all guests, soap, shampoo and a hairdryer in every room. Location is right on the coast with great views out the front of the sea. Garden is lovely. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks Alan and Bill

We had a great stay at Simon's place - the house was full of charm and a great size for our group of 8. It was a great location, Simon is a responsive host and answered all my questions.

We had a lovely stay at Ursula's home over a sunny weekend in Folkestone. the house was immaculate and Ursula kitted it out with everything we needed for a really comfortable stay including providing stair gates, highchair etc for my my friend's 1 year old. A great place to stay for families or groups of friends, would recommend!

Superb location overlooking the sea and with many and varied eating places in the vicinity. Lovely to have two lounges overlooking the sea and a large farmhouse table in the well resourced kitchen. Some superb historic and cultural places to visit nearby including: Margate (40 mins by train) to see Turners’ Contemporary Art Museum and also Tracey Emin’s Art Studios; Canterbury Cathedral (40 mins by bus) to see the historic and spectacular first cathedral in Engkand and St Augustine’s Abbey in such a beautiful city; Dover (20 mins s by car) to see the Historic Castle, Tunnels and White Cliffs; Ramsgate (bus/car 15 min drive) to see a classic Victorian Seaside with an unusual Wetherspoons built into the Pavillion; Broadstairs (10 mins drive further) to see Charles Dickens houses which inspired him to write - including Bleak House; Deal itself with its Saturday afternoon outdoor market and a 15 minute walk to the very significant Walker Castle. An amazing week with plenty of varied sigh

The house is well appointed, tea and coffee in cupboard along with some essentials such as olive oil is much appreciated . We also like the small courtyard, great for an alfresco supper.

What a stunning house! We had a birthday weekend with family and kids, the house was the perfect size, beautiful decoration, and attention to detail, really responsive to all questions, beautiful location with a stunning beach. Being able to walk straight onto the beach was bliss and we were lucky to have wonderful weather plus a dramatic storm! It’s actually more beautiful than the photos! What a place, we will definitely be back!

Lovely house in a great location. Deceptively large with nice outside seating area. Walking distance to the beach and many bars and restaurants which are buzzing.
