Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Sagamihara

Hiroki was the host during our stay. The place really did match the description and actually exceeded our expectations. Hiroki was always a generous, friendly and helpful host while also sensitively respecting our privacy. And his English is perfect which also helped! He told us this had been his grandfather’s house. He still runs a super community cafe and gift shop adjoining the house. The garden is really lovely too. And the bikes! The house was perfect for our small family reunion in Japan. Chigasaki is a lovely town, off the international tourist map but with gorgeous coastline, surfing scene, Hawaii vibes!, views of Mount Fuji and fabulous restaurants and bars. Also very well connected by train and a great local bus which stops right outside the house. Day trips to Enoshima, Kamakura, Tokyo and Hakone. Also took a weekend to visit Kyoto by bullet train. All a perfect introduction for a first (or subsequent) visit to Japan.

Wouw it couldn't be any better!! masa is such a nice guy and very welcoming! upon arriving we felt welcome, he explained everything and went his way. he had answers for every question we had and helped us to the best of his ability. upon arriving we gave him some Dutch gifts ( fridge magnet of a wooden shoe with tulips and a pack of stroopwafels) this shook him but he accepted it with a smile from ear to ear! the accommodation was clean and well taken care of, plenty of room for 2 people and really close to Ebara-machi station, which we used the most to get around. friendly people around Ota and the 7-11 around the corner is also very helpful! next time we are planning to stay longer! Domo arigato gozaimasu masa-san!

かな's place was perfect! The home is exactly as the pictures look and described. We had a family of four. Me, my husband, and two kids. My kids slept in the room next to us. The two rooms have a sliding two between them which was perfect because we were able to leave the door open so the kids saw us. The beds were comfy and the comforters were great. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked with towels, blow dryer, and even laundry detergent if needed. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook and eat. We enjoyed warm coffee each morning. The living room had different chairs to lounge in and かな japanese kids books that my kids loved along with a card game that we didn't get a chance to play. She also had an English Tokyo guide book that would be helpful for anyone going downtown. We stayed in the Hachioji area and felt there was a lot of things to do that was within walking distance. かな was really responsive and so kind! I would highly recommend staying at her place!

Wonderful place. A privilege to stay here

We very much enjoyed the long stay. The house is quite spacious for Japan standards, everything worked, everything spotlessly clean. Yukio was a wonderful host, always available to assist. He picked us up by his car from the local train station (Tsurukawa, not Machida) well after midnight, our flight having landed with 5 hour delay. He also found us bicycles to rent. The language gap was bridged through computer translation. The area is purely residential and a bit upscale. Not much to do around, but we had explicitly wanted something like that in order to see how people really live here. Bus service is infrequent in evenings and weekends. Taxi from Tsurukawa station costs around 20 USD. Only two remarks: (1) The (main) double bed stands on very thin and shaky (homemade?) legs. We later slept in the room with the tatami mat and it was ok. Tip: Stack 2 brown mattresses on top each other and use the soft paddings. (2) Only 1 kitchen knife, rusty (but very sharp). Overall great stay!

Riku and Mari are the most gracious hosts! They provided the perfect place for our first Japan experience. Located just a few steps from several bus stops, we were able to get everywhere we wanted to go very easily, and Riku was very responsive with any questions we had. They also provide three bicycles so we were able to get out and see so many different areas of Fuchu. The property is spacious and allowed all three of us to sleep comfortably and not feel crowded at all. We hope to return and will definitely stay with Riku and Mari again!

They were polite and friendly. The facilities were also as advertised, and we had a very pleasant time.Thank you very much.

We had an awesome stay at Eiji's place. The house itself is very interesting and has a lot of knick knacks to discover. It was our first time sleeping on tatami mats on the floor and ended up stacking 2 mats on top of each other. The kitchen was very well stocked and we made good use of the wooden bathtub outside. Very much enjoyed that after a long day. There was no washer and dryer but there is a laundromat that is open until 11 pm just a short walk away. We really enjoyed our stop in Odawara and it was super convenient to be so close to the Odawara Station.

The unit was simple but clean and comfortable. Located in a quiet neighborhood, about 10 minutes walking distance from the station, and the unit was facing an empty land which is good as we did not feel cramped or too close to the neighbors plus it was airy. The beds were comfortable, we slept well throughout our stay. The host was always helpful and fast to respond to any of my inquiries

We had a wonderful stay at Ootsuki’s- the location was so walkable. We walked to the train station every day and enjoyed our path through town. The Airbnb was comfortable and the kitchen worked perfectly for the small meals we cooked during our stay. The whole apartment was perfectly clean. She was very responsive and a quick communicator and so so kind❤️ she saw we were artists when she cleaned our room during our stay and gave us a small easel as a gift before we left- we would love to come back one day!

Spacious, with easy access to a few bus stops. It’s also within walkable distance of other local landmarks.

Second time staying here, it felt right at home. Always so hospitable and friendly, felt right at home. It was so nice to see a familiar face ☺️ Amazing location and comfortable place to stay.

This was my second time staying at StayFab’s apartment in Shimokita and just like the first time we loved it. We appreciate the apartments proximity to the train station, shopping and restaurants. The apartment is an ideal size for a family traveling with kids. David is a great host and a great communicator.

Hiroyuki San was the best host we’ve had so far. Responsive , super helpful and proactive about everything He provided everything for us before we even ask. The apartment was equipped with all the amenities listed and more. He was always for responsive and ready to help with any of our needs It’s nowhere near the “center” of Tokyo so keep that in mind. If you want a stay near Yokohama though it’s the best you can find. Thank you Hiroyuki San for having us

Had an excellent week long stay here. Mitsuru-San, the host, communicated very well and made sure I had everything I needed. The area itself is quiet, close to the station, and near some nice restaurants. Recommend for those looking for a convenient and comfortable stay

Lovely place. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Host was flexible with my check in time as I wasn’t sure what time I arrived til I got on the train. As it was raining on the day I left, host was kind enough to offer to drive me to train station as well as work out the train timetable for me. I couldn’t have asked for a lovelier experience.

A great place to stay for a budget traveler looking for clean and quiet accommodations! If you are looking for luxury, this is not your place BUT if you are looking for a super quiet place that is in the heart of Shinjuku, book this place quick! We did not hear a peep at night but were able to walk to all of the sights. Andy was very responsive and, as female travelers, we felt safe.

Host was very responsive, and listing matched descriptions and pictures in the listing. The unit is 3 min walk from train station, which is really convenient. Host explained how to use all appliances. Quick response from host whenever we ask any questions. Would highly recommend this place!!

Lovely little appartment in a calm neighboorhood. Kami-kitazawa station is at 2 minutes walk from the airbnb and it’s pretty easy to travel to more central areas from there (shibuya and shinjuku for example). Lots of restaurants nearby as well as supermarkets which spared us a lot of time when trying to find something. Only detail is the train that passes by is kind of loud but we slept well nonetheless. Would come back to this place.

We had a wonderful time at the Villa Kamakura. Toshi is really the perfect host. Even before arrival, we were provided with plenty of useful information, including many tips about the surroundings, we have rarely experienced such great service. And the apartment itself was also just great and very well located. There was nothing missing, you had a great view, the bed was very comfortable. We will be happy to come back! :)
