Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Richmondshire District

We loved our stay at this beautiful cottage. We wanted to find an old cottage with lots of character and we found it in Overdale Cottage. It's in a secluded location but within easy reach of small towns. Hikers walking the famous coast to coast path passed by every day, always with a friendly greeting. We woke up every morning up to the sound of birds, sheep and lambs. Perfect!

Neil's cottage was a very pleasant place to stay while visiting the Yorkshire Dales.

We had a lovely stay at Tethera Nook, it had everything we needed and was very comfortable for our group. The space itself is very well thought out and we loved the bath, the gardens, the friendly chickens and the super comfy beds, thank you Emma and Craig.

We have had a lovely stay, the property was very well equipped, spacious and clean. We’ve stayed in a few cottages and this is by far the best. A short walk to the restaurants, waterfall and a lovely walk along the river. It was very peaceful and will definitely stay again. Thank you

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The space was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We really appreciated the little touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The jacuzzi was lovely! The hosts were great at providing us with all the information we needed for a stress free check in/out and a perfect stay. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mini break. Peacocks were a lovely surprise seeing them walk around the estate. Thanks again! Classy place, sets a high Bar. Expected to have to go shopping for basics but Tim had already provided them, milk, bread, butter, cookies and eggs. Tim's communications were excellent, informed us when the cottage was ready, supplied detailed entry instructions. On first day the weather was cool for June, only 13 degrees so having a cosy cottage was a bonus. Only minor problem we had was with the electric hob, used google to find out how to use it. I did find a folder with instruction in on the last morning under a pile of travel/local info books. Maybe it should have been in a more prominent place. All in all it was a delight, will never forget the race horses walking past in the morning. Would you stay here again? A resounding Yes, thanks Tim.

Lovely clean cottage. Walking distance to some good restaurants. Nice comfy and quiet nights sleep. Great communication and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend and will be back.

We had a lovely stay; the location is wonderful, surrounded by farmland with baby lambs overlooking the seating area! The apartment is very well specced and looked after, with a small garden house further up the hill opposite and an amazing river a short walk across the fields where we went for a swim. The photos do not do the property justice, it is a gem. Would definitely come back to use as a quiet base to explore the lakes from again.

My friends and I stayed here for a wedding nearby. It was a great location which was easy to order taxis to and from. There is a big Sainsburys right next door for anything you might need. Beds were VERY comfortable and it was great to have a shower in each room. It was clean and tidy. Geoff and Julie were very friendly and welcoming and we’re really grateful for a lovely stay ☺️

Beautiful little hidden gem! A perfect stay whilst we attended a wedding at Middleton Lodge. The flat was well equipped, bed was super comfy and the towels were large and fluffy! I would deffinatley reccomend to others 😃😃. Thank you Fiona!

Lovely clean quiet space with well thought out amenities .. if you want a night in full kitchen utensils provided. King size bed ( a must for me) and a bath which again I love after a days walking. Walking distance to butchers, greengrocers and 24hr Morrisons along with great pubs . Recommend the triple cooked chips in the Green Dragon!

Fabulous stay at Jo's place, spotlessly clean, had all the amenities and so peaceful. Loved watching the chickens in the gardens. Unfortunately didn't get to meet Jo in person, but all correspondence through Airbnb she promptly replied to. Thanks Jo, we would love to come back. ❤️

Chris's apartment is very comfy and clean and perfectly placed for exploring Teesdale, Weardale, Barnard Castle and the local area. Chris offered lots of useful recommendations and was a helpful and friendly host. Would definitely recommend this apartment.

Well….where do i begin…this place is above 5star!!! Me and my husband went for a little 3 night break after our wedding for some quiet time after the madness of a wedding… the flat on arrival was just perfect…there is no other word for it!!! The host knew why we were going and went the extra mile to put some personal touches in place for us, for when we arrived. Things like ballon’s, lights, banners roses, cup cakes, chocolate…even down to a congratulations card. The list could go on. Not only was there all of the above, but the fridge was fully stocked for all the essential items you may need, this little thought went a long way…variety of snacks, cold cans of pop and bottled water also on the fridge. We were so thrown by this, as we have stayed in many places in the past but not one has ever gone this far to make there guests feel at home. An this is how we felt “at home” And the place was spotless…we literally have not one bad thing to say!!! Apart from we didn’t want to leave!!

Absolutely fantastic! The best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at in the last 4 years of using it. Fantastic thought for the guests and very responsive, willing to give extra toiletries and the property just feels top quality in everything. The bed super comfortable and we didn’t use all the cushions provided. I could go on and on, I hope Amanda and Gareth are able to open more Airbnb’s in the Lake District area. I would be gutted if when we return next year her place wasn’t available 💯

Great accommodation for the 2 of us & had everything we needed for a long weekend exploring this area of the Yorkshire Dales. We enjoyed the suggested walking routes, the route details provided were really handy. Viv and Ernie were lovely hosts and nice to chat to.

Great location quiet, easy to get to. We stopped just 1 night so didn’t use anything in the kitchen but it had all you would need. Plenty big enough for 2 people with really comfy bed and large bathroom with walk in shower . Would definitely stay there again

This really is a gem, fantastic value for money and in our opinion ticked all the boxes. Would not hesitate to recommend it to any one.

We really enjoyed our stay here at Whitbarrow. The apartment was lovely, with the special addition of the balcony overlooking the beautiful views, which we enjoyed with a cuppa or two. Our boys loved the toys and the drawing that was available to play with but, of course, their highlight was the pool. Local distance to Lowther, buttermere, Penrith, pooley Bridge, Keswick etc so lots to do. We’ll be back soon! 🙂

We had a lovely four night stay in Lawyers loft. The apartment was perfectly positioned on the Main Street in Hawes, it was spotlessly clean and really well equipped. It was lovely just being able to sit in the lounge, log fire burning and watch life go by on the street below. And even though the apartment is just off the Main Street it’s so tranquil- there is hardly any noise. We look forward to returning in the future and thoroughly recommend Lawyers loft.
