Villa vacation rentals in Ottawa River

The accommodations at one time were beautiful. The house is large with many beautiful features (huge kitchen with all the amenities), large master bedroom and private en-suite, large deck with a view of the lake, and updated gas BBQ. The lake is absolutely beautiful as well. In fact, it’s one of the nicest lakes we have visited. However, the house needs a deep clean, some TLC and updating. All the screens to the doors were broken, some drawers in the kitchen were separating from their surfaces, dead bugs lay on the window sills, the floors could use a good scrub, there is a hole in the gangway to the dock, and the ladder to the dock is loose and unsafe to use. We were told there were two canoes. One was in great shape and even had seats with backs. The other should be laid to rest, as it literally was falling apart. We also found out that we could not dock a boat there because of a dispute with a neighbor. Unfortunately, the dryer broke down while we were there. We suspect that it had never been cleaned as the filter would not go in completely from all the lint and debris from years of use. We had paid for a cleaning service, but were informed a few days before arrival that the service was not available due to COVID-19 and that guests were expected to clean. The owner offered to cancel our reservation but at this late date we could not have arranged for new accommodations or for our own cleaning service. We had booked the accommodations for August. Surely, the information about the cleaning service was known months in advance since the pandemic started in February/March. The previous guests had cleaned our bathrooms and made the beds, but dishes were left in the dishwasher and on the drying rack, and tea towels and some bathroom towels were left dirty. We brought our own towels thankfully. On our last day, instead of enjoying our few remaining hours at the cottage, we spent four hours cleaning for the next guests, and quite honestly we could not do the thorough job of hired cleaning staff. The owner did reimburse us for the cleaning service, but we did not get back our time! With some TLC, repairs, and a real cleaning service, this place could have been a gem.

Possibly the best Airbnb I’ve stayed at. Quiet location, clean, great communication, snacks and drinks available when you get there, etc. Couldn’t ask for anything more. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time staying at Eric’s place! The views and location are so peaceful and the house was the perfect space for a larger family. Eric was always very responsive and a wonderful host.

We were so grateful to have an affordable place for our large family to gather comfortably in the winter. The large private property was a real asset as we had lots of kids in our group who like to play outside and this let the adults have some peaceful moments together. The kitchen’s had everything we needed. The houses were clean and uncluttered, yet cozy. All the furniture was useful and practical. Robin was responsive and helpful. We will definitely be returning one day.

We were happy to find last minute booking. The house is big, location was perfect for us. All the rooms were clean and match the pictures. The host was very helpful and there were no issues during our stay.

Christine communicated well and provided a list of all requirements. The lake and dock is absolutely perfect. A few steps down to the water but the shallow waterfront makes up for it. Awesome spots for kids to be swimming without worry. Lots of space.

Great property

I booked the entire Kokomo Inn for my birthday which was New Years Eve for my friends and I! it was a trip centred around visiting the Nordic Spa so the location was perfect as it was peaceful, warm and inviting. We were warmly received by the hosts who had the fire roaring for us and a fully stacked kitchen. what a joy! Everyone had a great sleep and the morning breakfast prepared by the hosts was delicious and so thoughtfully presented! will be coming back every time I'm staying in the area!

What a great place to stay. Very interesting house with all the twists and stairs, and our group of 7 had a great time. Walking to bank street for all the wonderful fare makes this a great location.

We had an unforgettable experience during our stay and look forward to returning next year. The island was beautiful, the many different houses accommodated our large group and each family of the 5 that went had their own space to unwind. The kitchen was beautiful and made meal prep and cooking so easy. The kida had lots to do with basketball, board games, mini pool tables, hot tub and the highlight was definitely the swimming. The water was great, warm and clear at any given time during the day and the kids had so much fun jumping off the docks, using the paddle boats and the canoes. We all had such a great time and are so thankful to Marla and Sherri-an employee who helped us when we checked in and checked out- Sherri was a great help, kind, friendly, hospitable and even recommended a different cottage with less steps for next year that I will definitely look into because it was a beautiful experience. Don't think twice about booking your stay here my family and I loved it!

David and Mimi’s place was gorgeous and had everything we needed for our stay. Great for families and kids. We enjoyed canoeing and kayaking on the private lake. They were very communicative and responsive, generous and thoughtful. We definitely recommend this place!

The house is fantastic. The waterfall is absolutely amazing. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are outstanding. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

I had a great time staying at Agnis’s place. Whenever I had any questions I always got a prompt and immediate response. She was very understanding and flexible when it came to checking out as there was a massive snow storm the night before and the area/ roads were not yet plowed so she allowed us to do a late check out. Her place was beautiful, cozy, felt right at home. I would stay here again !

My favourite place to stay

Our Muskoka Winter Stay took us to Villa on the Green in Gravenhurst. The clean, modern interior of the condo is matched only by the expansive window views onto the sparkling, white snow covering the golf course. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare meals. Beds are comfortable with luxurious pillows and linens. The winter activities offered by Muskoka Bay Resort are a bonus. Our host was incredibly friendly, and communication was quick and efficient. There is nothing more we could ask for our stay.

We had a wonderful stay in Muskoka! The location was perfect—close to everything we needed, including shops, restaurants, and beautiful nature spots. The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Check-in was smooth, and the host was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely come back and highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

We had an amazing stay at Sandra's Airbnb. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped with everything we needed. Very spacious with gorgeous finishes. Peaceful scenery and view of the golf course made sitting out back very enjoyable. It is clear Sandra was very thoughtful about her guest's experience. Sandra was extremely helpful and responsive. She was proactive so that we weren't having to reach out for assistance. Resort pool was beautiful and the staff very helpful and friendly. Our kids had a great time at the firepit where they were able to make S'mores. Highly Recommend!

Beautiful home with all the amenities! Eric was a great host and very responsive. The home was very comfortable for the 8 of us. Unfortunately we only had a 3 night stay and only got to enjoy the pool for one day due to the weather. But it was very nice with lots of comfortable outdoor furniture and a beautiful backyard setting. The master bedroom was amazing with beautiful soaking bathtub! Highly recommend this property. Thank you for having us!
