Tiny Home Boxcar Sanctuary 1898

AliceRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This space is somehow even more inviting and wonderful than the photos portray. It feels spacious but cozy and has so much character and vibe and I fell in love the moment I walked in! Jean and Steve are the ultimate hosts. Attentive and so friendly, but with plenty of space. There are touches throughout that covered every need I could think of for a beautiful Taos retreat. The claw foot tub with a gorgeous view is a highlight, but the bed is also luxurious and comfy with lots of pillows and covers. And getting to sit au naturel in a hot tub under the stars is very hard to beat. The location feels so secluded at the end of a dead end road, but easy access to everything around. I will definitely be returning!

186-Acre Luxury Retreat: Nature's Bliss

WhitneyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Leaping Deer Ranch had the most remarkable amenities of any place our family has ever stayed (and we’ve stayed at some incredible places.). Colin was so responsive and helpful, yet out of the way during our stay. The people on staff were amazing as well! The ranch is stunningly beautiful and worth every single penny. My only regret is that we would have stayed longer and explored the property more! We hope to be back another time.

My two friends and I were visiting for a conference and we were so enchanted by Melanie and Paul's beautiful and peaceful property. The beds were so comfortable that we fell asleep immediately. We had such a nice time chatting with them the next morning. I wish we could have stayed longer - hopefully will be back next time we're in Santa Fe! Thank you!

Enchanting Views, Calming Comfort, close to town.

JacobRating, 5 stars4 months ago
I visited from Chicago for a a fairly long stay (~12 days), and it was a great experience! The living space was very cozy and had a very usable kitchen. The views of the mountains during the morning and evening were pretty great, and the location was far enough away from people to remain quiet while still being close enough to grab groceries on a whim. Plenty of outdoor activities to do in the nearby area.

JX Ranch Bunkhouse - Longhorn Room

GailRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Mimi's place is exactly as described - a bunkhouse unit on their cattle ranch. It's in a beautiful location back a short dirt road. We enjoyed sitting out in the evening and listening to the birds singing. Mimi and Tom are very friendly and checked in to see if everything was okay.

Beautiful Bunkhouse w/Epic Views

HannahRating, 5 stars6 days ago
What a magical place! Beautiful farm, quiet and peaceful yet only 15-20 minutes to downtown Durango. The bunkhouse is so cozy, clean and homey with a super comfy bed. The incinerator toilet was cool and easy to use, zero complaints there. Great patio with a nice grill and propane firepit. The perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful views and the adorable highland cows, and to stargaze in the evenings! Bethany and Trapper were wonderful hosts, truly above and beyond! So welcoming, kind and communicative, and also provided awesome recommendations in the area. Also don’t sleep on the eggs they provide from their chickens, the best eggs we’ve ever tasted! The kitchen has everything you’d need, and a great coffee setup with delicious local coffee. We can’t wait to return!

Lavender + Mountain Dreams: HGTV 50-Acre Ranch

ErinRating, 5 stars5 days ago
If you want privacy and nature, this one’s for you. Peter and Laura were perfect hosts. Nowadays Airbnbs tend to not necessarily prioritize their guests. Not here… they thought of everything and were available for whatever we needed, not that we needed anything, this place has it all. We even got some fresh chicken and duck eggs! We really enjoyed spending time outside in the mornings. The views are great and you feel like it’s all yours.

The Little Restin'. Private and Peaceful.

DianneRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Place was awesome! Jarad was very hospitable & helpful. Glad he was able to accommodate us with our fur babies as we had an rv breakdown & it makes having to get accommodation for fur babies that make them feel uncomfortable comfortable. We left there feeling homesick. ** other than the sulfur smell in water. It’s manageable.

Authentic Adobe Home on Tranquil Horse Farm

MichelleRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This authentic adobe home was as advertised and a great base to explore this area of New Mexico. The house had everything we needed, was tastefully furnished with lots of lovely tile work and art on the walls. The bed was very comfortable, and we left windows open at night as a natural air conditioner. The grounds were lovely, with numerous huge cottonwoods. One night a lively thunderstorm provided entertainment for several hours. We loved the quiet of the countryside; the whistle of the Rail Runner and Amtrak trains were not a problem for us. We hope to return next time we visit this part of New Mexico.

What can I say about this place aside from how wonderful it was to stay here? My children and I had the best time hanging in the spa, listening to music on the house speakers, and enjoying a break from our every day lives. Phil made us feel right at home, and my kiddos had a blast! Would definitely come back to enjoy the beautiful space Phil has created.

Casita in the Woods

JadaRating, 5 stars10 months ago
This cozy casita was like a mountain retreat while travelling from Taos to Santa Fe. The place was just as described -Jen and Heathar are very thoughtful providing just enough for a simple quiet stay. I was able to take a hike right behind the casita and order keifer hand-delivered from their available farm goods. Knowing that I'd be unplugging mostly while there, I was still able to connect my laptop to a trusty Ethernet cable to get work done. I do evening sketches and reading, so by nightfall the intentionally dimmer light in the casita was limiting, but that just encouraged me to get to bed at a decent hour. (Comfy bed perch, by the way!) I highly recommend staying here for a peaceful experience.

Owls Nest

CarletteRating, 5 stars5 months ago
My husband and I along with our two dogs stayed here for 9 nights over the Christmas holidays. It was super cozy and so much more spacious than it looks in the photos. I found the bed very comfortable and Holly is right, it is a well stocked kitchen. I really loved the coffee area and the extra touches. Every morning, I woke with the sunrise and walked my two dogs around the property, it was a beautiful way to start my day. The stars at night are so bright because there is no light pollution on this farm. It’s a 15 minute drive from downtown Durango and even on snowy days, the drive isn’t bad at all. My husband and I enjoyed this trip so much, we made several hikes, did the train ride, went to Durango hot springs, walked the anima trail, went to pagosa springs for the day where we saw a frozen waterfall, went sledding, and spent the afternoon at pagosa hot springs resort. The owls nest provided all the comforts of home.
