Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Loch Linnhe

We have just got back from a fantastic week at The Barn in Ardfern. Cameron’s dad Phil lives nearby and he gave us lots of good tips for places to see. He was also a lovely friendly person to chat to. The Barn is very private and peaceful. Inside it is fantastically designed, comfortable, with everything we could need - a beautiful kitchen, crisp white bed linen, lovely bath and shower, and nice milk, biscuits and wine to welcome us. Places not to miss are Arduaine garden, Crarae garden, Ardmaddy garden and Crinan canal for walking or cycling. Lucy’s in the village was lovely for breakfast, lunch or coffee & cake. Just five minute walk up the hill near The Barn is a splendid view on the surrounding Lochs. We also went to Iona (book ahead with CalMac or West Coast Tours) - it was great getting the bus between ferries rather than driving. The ferries get very booked up at this time of year. Altogether we could not have asked for a lovelier week- thanks so much Phil Abi and Cameron.

Great location with an amazing view! Perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

What can we say. Billy was an exceptional host. He was kind and helpful. The spot is beautifully situated in Oban. The morning breakfasts with red squirrels and the visits from the deer added to the memories. Everything you could have thought of was there! Highly rate and will definitely come back if we are ever in the area again!

The location is perfect and the room with the view is great. The host were amazing.

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed - both the beauty of the surroundings and the house itself with gorgeous views and unique design and decor. Cozy living room with great view. Basically two master bedrooms. Great kitchen and dining room. Nice deck if weather permits. Close to railway walking path. I even caught four brown trout from shore just across the lake. Highly recommend!

Traumhafte Umgebung. Wir haben hier tolle Wanderungen unternommen und haben uns in der Unterkunft wie zu Hause gefühlt. Einzig die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten waren vor Ort etwas begrenzt. Daher sind wir zum Großeinkauf nach Oban gefahren.

Alice's listing was just what we were looking for. It was close by many areas for experiencing the highlands. great restaurants within short driving distances. The views from the listing were breathtaking.

This is my third time staying at Dora's place and I doubt it will be my last. Good location, convenient and comfortable, beautiful views, modern design, fully equipped, tastefully decorated, impeccably cleaned and great attention to detail. 5 stars.

We stayed at Elizabeth’s flat for our first night in Scotland and it did not disappoint! It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. If we are in Oban again we would not hesitate staying here!

Sarah’s cozy, clean home was so comfortable and practical! The beds were so comfy! Our hostess was very responsive to any inquiries we gave her. Having the crib/ cot already set up for us was such a hospitable touch. We loved taking our morning coffee in the cozy window seat and soaking in the stunning views!

Loved this space. Right in the center of everything but not near anything loud. Loved being able to walk to everything in town. Also great place to just sit and relax and watch a movie. Would definitely stay here again.

Jonathan’s place was wonderful. It was clean, easy to find, and close to everything we wanted to do. Jonathan was helpful and quick to respond.

Chris and Sarah’s place is easily one of the finest Airbnbs we’ve ever experienced. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. The place has everything you needed and more! (Thank you for the Scottish Shortbread biscuits). The panoramic views are breathtaking, our only regret is not having more time to have a cup of tea at the front yard. Above all, Chris and Sarah’s warmth made us feel instantly at home. Their hospitality set a new standard for us, and we’ll be recommending their getaway to any friends traveling to this part of the world!

Jakki and Andy's apartment is a marvellous place to stay - they were very flexible with our changing plans and the place itself was spectacularly clean and well set up with everything anyone could need! We would definitely stay here again - thanks so much!

I have just spent a lovely week in North Studio - the weather wasn't the best but the Ardnamurchan peninsula is spectacular and Salen is ideally placed to explore all over the area; it's easy to get the ferry to Mull as well. A short walk from the studio is the Salen jetty shop, a must for essentials like bread, milk and indeed anything else you need. The studio is well equipped and cosy, and the bed was particularly comfortable. The views from the little patio over Loch Sunart are glorious....overall, it's a super location, well recommended!

We had a lovely stay in Dunoon, it is a very quiet a peaceful place and we really enjoyed our stay. Paddy is friendly and helpful and her dog is beautiful and very sweet. Both beds were very comfortable, the shower was warm and powerful and the homemade bread was a great touch- we thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you again :)

Extremely accommodating and responsive. Parking was easier than we initially thought. Location fabulous and across the street from Ee-Usk and its sister Italian restaurant Piazza. Get reservations or be at the door before they open and cross your fingers. So worth it. Easy walkability. Easy to get to ferry to other islands. The apartments was pristine, large bathroom and bedrooms. Relaxing in front of bay window overlooking water was so relaxing. Be safe repaired for 88 stairs (not that we counted)

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Mourad’s place in Glencoe. The location was perfect—nestled in the heart of stunning natural beauty, with breathtaking views of the loch and surrounding mountains right from the apartment. It was also just a short drive to all the main attractions and hiking spots, which made exploring the area so easy. The apartment itself was immaculate—clean, tidy, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The amenities were excellent, and the space had a peaceful, cosy feel that made us feel right at home. Mourad and his lovely wife were incredible hosts—so welcoming, kind, and helpful. They offered great local advice, were always quick to respond, and truly went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and would not hesitate to stay here again. A truly memorable experience!

Excellent place with everything we needed. It was spotlessly clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Parking was free and very convenient.

Excellent location for access to Oban & the highlands.. Clean, tidy, comfortable apartment. Friendly helpful host who had excellent communication before and during my stay. Highly recommended.

Als je naar Oban gaat, is dit echt een geweldig appartement om in te verblijven. Zeer ruim (nog groter dan op de foto’s lijkt), brandschoon en op de beste locatie in de stad. Heel mooi uitzicht, een ruime keuken met alles wat je nodig hebt in een prachtig authentiek gebouw.

A very thoughtful place surrounded by beautiful scenery. Everything in the studio makes sense and we felt right at home. Tony and Mairi are wonderful hosts. Definitely worth a stay! ❤️
