Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Lake Pontchartrain

Really enjoyed our SECOND stay at this quaint home. We returned from 5 months ago because of the kindness and hosting skills of Linda. She is a joy and we went shopping at her floral store walking distance from her home. She is thoughtful, considerate in all areas of hospitality. She is a guests favorite for this reason. We will return as a regular. I recommend a stay here to visit New Orleans or to get away from it all and enjoy local Louisiana cuisine. Kindest regards, Burt Huete

If a magical castle and a treehouse had a baby deep in the woods of Louisiana, this would be it—From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place was built for making core memories (the kind your kids actually remember and not just pretend to when they’re grown). My son and I bonded over fishing like pros (spoiler: we’re not), reeling in bass, catfish, and brim like we had our own fishing show. And the girls? Between the sandy beach, swimming, fishing and giggle-filled adventures, they were living their best lives. The treehouse itself is a vibe—giant windows with dreamy views, a bridge that feels like it leads to Narnia (but with more OFF and sunscreen), and enough cozy charm to make you forget the real world exists. Bring bug repellent unless you’re into that kinda stuff. Pro tip: One night is not enough. Bring delicious tasty treats, and prepare to never want to leave. We’ll be back. Because let’s be honest—I’m not giving up this “cool mom” title anytime soon.

My sisters and I had such an enjoyable time at this Airbnb in Abita Springs. Rhonda was a fantastic host - so helpful, quick to respond to any questions and truly went above and beyond with her thoughtful accommodations. The house itself is absolutely precious, beautifully decorated and incredibly cozy. The beds were super comfortable, and every detail made us feel right at home. We had a wonderful time and would definitely love to stay here again!

First of all, Robert was a great host. He was proactive in his communications and very quick to respond to mine. The house was charming and easily accommodated the seven of us. The full kitchen allowed us to have healthy, home-cooked family meals together. The adorable back patio and pool were an added bonus. Robert made sure that our stay was easy and comfortable. I highly recommend Robert was a wonderful host.

Probably the coolest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The sanctuary/pool was so well-equipped and we had such a great time relaxing at the end of sightseeing days. The inside was super cool as well, with tons of themed and thoughtful decorations. The Airbnb itself is very convenient to Magazine St, with tons of shops. Also very convenient to the stop for the hop on / off bus which we also used. We were nervous about not having a dedicated parking spot, but it ended up being totally fine with easy parking, and we were able to just park the car and forget about it, with cheap Ubers around $15 to get into the French quarter. Great stay all around !

Great location - safe, no outside noise, close in proximity to restaurants and other general stores. Javier was quick to respond and resolved any minor issues I had within the same day. I’ll absolutely be booking again if I come back for work.

We highly recommend Frank's place. It is an ideal location for visiting Tulane and Loyola, and it is in a very walkable, beautiful, and quiet neighborhood. The place was extremely clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We would love to return again.

The apartment was a perfect location for our planned activities in New Orleans. Jesse (& family) were welcoming and caring. The space was perfectly appointed and had every amenity one would need. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again!

This space was exactly what we were looking for on our trip to New Orleans! Quiet, peaceful and beautiful-just outside of the hustle and bustle of bourbon street and the French quarter but not so far that these places were not accessible with a quick uber/Lyft or street car ride away! Layla was extremely responsive and accommodating when we encountered some unexpected itinerary/travel issues easing a bit of the stress at the time. I would absolutely recommend this bnb to anyone looking for a truly comfortable, nice and peaceful place to stay in such a busy place such as New Orleans! We will definitely be returning again.

We loved Tim’s place! I work in New Orleans often, and this is one of the most convenient and comfortable homes I’ve Airbnb’d. Tim was helpful and responsive and it’s clear that he puts a ton of work into making folks feel welcome in the crescent city.

So glad I found Rebecca's place. It gave me a comfortable, peaceful spot to get work done and unwind. I will definitely look to book her place again next time I'm in town to see family!

Michelle’s place was as advertised with lots of room, clean, relatively quiet for its location and a great Mediterranean restaurant right next door as an extra bonus. Would recommend to anyone looking for a close location to the French Quarter but far enough away from the crowds.

Ashley’s place was wonderful! Super quiet and safe neighborhood and the space was beautiful and clean. Ashley was very responsive and even made an extra trip to help with the mailbox. I’m so thankful for her! Thank you for an amazing stay!

A beautiful, home in a prime location. Everything on Magazine is at your fingertips and the porch sitting taking in the energy of New Orleans was a major highlight. Parking also available directly in front of home whenever we arrived. Excellent choice!

I enjoyed everything about my stay here the place was as described nice and clean. The host offered extra linens and covers I just loved everything about the place! They offer a pool & gym on site we didn’t have to drive far for anything & it was a quiet neighborhood

Nice and new condo. The surrounding area is a mixed bag depending which direction you walk in. Not much to walk to immediately nearby. My only concern was never hearing back from the host. I sent one message asking about a late check out prior to check in and it was radio silence. I saw it wasn’t booked after our stay so figured it couldn’t hurt to ask since we had late flights. Even if the answer is no I would have appreciated a response saying that. Other than that we loved the condo itself. It was a great deal especially during jazz fest.

This is a lovely spot in a great location, right on Magazine street in the heart of the Garden District. Walkable, with restaurants, coffee shops and sweet shady neighborhood streets showcasing New Orleans' architecture. The space itself was exactly like the photos - very stylish, comfortable, clean and well-appointed. Jo Ann was very accomodating, responsive and an excellent host. It was a fun stay for our first trip to NOLA and we're glad to have had the chance to experience it.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay here. Brad and his team were helpful and quick to respond; all instructions were very clear. The unit was spotless and cozy, and the complex was modern and peaceful. I can't say enough about the neighborhood. It was very pleasant and the people were friendly and welcoming. It's very walkable and close to some of my new favorite restaurants in New Orleans. I come to this city every year and this has been my favorite so far.

We came to NOLA the week prior to our daughter’s wedding and wanted to stay in the Central Business District to be close to the wedding venue and hotels our guests would be staying at until the wedding weekend, when we’d move to the hotel ourselves. Alice & Scott were amazing hosts-very accommodating, especially when our plans shifted and we needed to add an extra day to the end of our trip. They responded promptly and clearly. The place was exactly as described-very clean, spacious, great location, and secure. Doormen, Frank and Bruce, were very helpful. We will definitely stay here again when visiting our daughter and new husband.
