The cabin is located by Tinnsjøen lake with parking right beside it. It is 6 kilometers from Mæl ferry rental in the direction of Atrå. It is 17 kilometres to Rjukan, 25 kilometres to Gaustatoppen mountain and beautiful mountain areas. Beautiful views, plenty of sun. There is no running water in the cabin, but water tap just outside. Free wood for the wood stove. When there's frost and freezing temperatures, there's no water in the tap outside. Water must be collected from the host. Rowing boat is available for free. Outboard motor 1-3 days NOK 400,-

In the loft you have the opportunity to adjust beds as needed. You'll get to most things you need for a relaxing hike to the mountains. Large window surfaces, where you can enjoy Gausta's "wild" nature. Ski in/out just outside the door, short way to cross country tracks. In general area you can find restaurants and bars.

Eel hut constructed in 2017 in Øygarden hut field. There is a small hut area with good distance between the huts and you have great hiking opportunities right outside the door. The cabin has 3 bedrooms. There is room for 7, but is best suited for couples or families with children. There is a personal touch on the cabin as it is often used by us as well, so there will be basic items in the kitchen cabinets and there may be items in the refrigerator with durability. Use whatever you need during your stay.

We recommend Mathias' cabin due to the location, also a lovely spacious cabin. Mathiass is very friendly and service-minded and great at helping with recommendations regarding the area.

I highly recommend Mette's place, it very spacious with everything you could want. Mette is generous, kind and always ready to help. The view from the balconies is outstanding. if you are walking, it is 20mins from the train station and 10mins is uphill. Also you are in the middle of a 3 story building, and sometimes you will hear people walking around upstairs. Neither of these worried us, I only mention this in passing. They in no detracted from our experience. 5 stars all round. Thank you Mette.

We have had a nice and relaxing stay and the cabin met all our expectations. It had a well-equipped kitchen, a large nice bathroom and good beds. Right by the cabin there is a starting point for several nice walks in the mountains and below the cabin there is a small lake with possibilities for swimming and fishing.

A great place if you're looking for peace, quiet, and connect with nature. Close to many trails. We chose this place because of its proximity to Gaustopen (about 40 minutes by car). The climb provided us with an unforgettable experience (I recommend to everyone). Jacob's cottage is very atmospheric, clean and gives a breath of mind, a fireplace, and the mood of the log house. If we're in the area, we'll be sure to stay in this beautiful place again.
