Great Location: Volcano to Hilo

JoieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Kerinne and Mike’s guest house was perfect for our long weekend stay. This quick trip was all about Hawaii Volcanoes National Park as we hoped to catch Episode 23 of Kīlauea’s ongoing eruption. We’d no longer gotten back to the hose and settled in, when Kīlauea started fountaining again. We raced back to the park and were never so glad to have chosen a location so close to the park as traffic was backed up for miles headed to the park when we were leaving. While the house is a little difficult to find at night, Mike was on the lookout for us and flagged us down and Kerrine’s directions ensured we were in the vicinity for Mike to see us. Friendly animals were a nice bonus! Would recommend this guest house to anyone wanting to stay near the park.

Spectacular Views of Kailua-Kona

PatRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Where do I start? I feel like we found a hidden gem. Karrie and Kevin were wonderfully kind hosts, answered all of our questions and gave excellent recommendations. Their property is at a high elevation, so we really enjoyed the cooler temperature while sleeping. Their property is beautifully landscaped and has breathtaking views. It felt very much like home. The kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked and we got a LOT of use out the beach chairs and umbrella. Many nice little thoughtful touches. Loved seeing Scout the dog every day for cuddle therapy! Our list of must-do activities: Kilauea eruption, if you are lucky. We were there at the perfect time and it was WELL worth the 2 hour drive to see it at night! Night snorkel with the mantas. Captain Cook's Monument snorkel tour. Kahalu'u Beach Park - the reef there is teeming with tropical fish! Absolutely LOVED the location of this airbnb, can't wait to come back and stay here again!!!

Kealakekua Bay Bali Cottage -steps from Bay

AnnieRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Stepping out of my car, I was greeted by Karen and we walked through the magical lights towards my place for the night. There was a little “welcome Annie” sign at the door. Karen then walked me down to the beach to see where I could snorkel in the morning. This museum like home is full of LOVE. Art, Elephants, surf boards, even a buddha gong. Unfortunately for me, it was also full of little spider roommates that hung high above the bathroom and bedroom. The occasional spider is okay, but to have that many eyes on me was unnerving. I couldn’t stay a second night. I know, I know….I have an unnatural fear. I didn’t see any other friends. I would stay here again if I was with someone else. The bed was super comfy…. and the shower was heavenly. That was the best part for me! The fridge and stove were dirty so I opted out of eating there. ‘The Coffee Shack’, is a very delicious restaurant with an amazing view!! Call ahead to get on the waitlist.

The Ohana at Volcanoes National Park

WinnieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at Dave and Sue’s place! They provided lots of helpful travel information before our arrival, which made it easy for us to plan ahead. The home is clean, cozy, and fully equipped with everything you might need. The location is perfect—just a 5-minute drive to Volcanoes National Park. We were incredibly lucky to catch an eruption during our visit, which made the experience even more unforgettable. Highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting the area!

Beach Road Hale

BharatRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Jordan was very responsive and very helpful. The Airbnb was solid and had all the things we required for a 5 day stay. The only slight issues are that there wasn't a dedicated kitchen (there was a kitchenette and a butane stove)and there were a couple of bugs here and there but when you consider that the location is a very tropical area, it is impressive that there weren't more of them. All in all Jordan is a great host and I would definitely book here again!

Honu Suite - 5 Star Quality, Competitively Priced!

MarcRating, 5 stars2 days ago
I have long fluctuated between 4 and 5 stars. 5 stars for the impeccable and perfect accommodation. Absolutely clean, superbly equipped and everything as written. 4 stars mentally, because someone (maybe the landlord?) lived privately under our apartment (because a few meters further he apparently builds another house on the property) and we had some noise problems on 2 days - but not from the construction work. Every morning from 6:30, 7:00 the first loud conversations and from 8:00, 8:30 then also partly loud music. Once I even woke up in the evening - it was as if my son was having a party next door. Thus, very noisy, we could understand every word. But since the overall impression and also the super contact of Brandee outweigh positive for me, it deserved 5 stars. Mahalo!

Cozy Cottage with Fresh Rainwater Hot Tub *No fees

T. MichaelRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We have stayed at many ABnBs from Shenandoah to Big Bend and from Alaska to Everglades and this was the most thoughtfully prepared place we have visited. From the multi type charging port to the heated towel bar, to labeled switches, to supplies likecoffee, tea, borrowable raincoats and beach chairs it is obvious that the host wanted to meet your needs. The place is beautifully surrounded by copious flowers. The stained glass accents are pretty. We did not use the hot tub or grill but they were very nice. Garret was responsive and helpful the bed was comfortable as were the pillows.

NEW 2 bedroom hosted Tranquil Island Getaway

JoanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
All of us enjoyed our stay at Debbie’s place. It was the perfect size for 5 of us; and that extra 1/2 bath was truly great to have! We really enjoyed eating the eggs from Debbie’s chickens that she left for us. We ate them scrambled and soft boiled and all were so delicious!! We picked fruits and flowers from their huge yard and we made friends with their dogs, birds and cows. We wanted to take a picture at the house with our Broken Dog Ranch shirts, but I felt bad that we were already late checking out. So we got together on Oahu for our photo shoot! 😁 This was my 2nd time staying at Debbie’s beautiful hale and I would definitely stay there again! Mahalo nui loa for your warm hospitality, Debbie! A hui ho! Joan I.

KristaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
If you are planning on spending time at Volcano National Park - stay here! Lily and Brian were helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Hospitality was top notch. We enjoyed the indoor-outdoor lifestyle so much! Everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was set up to cook really anything you could want. We spent the mornings before our hikes in the infrared sauna and outdoor shower. Followed by espresso on the deck. We got sweet hellos any goodbyes from the well-behaved family dogs. Lazy Acres is a truly special place. We cannot wait to return! So much more I could say but just trust you will love this place. Experience it for yourself!!

Poipu Tropical Retreat with AC & Pool/Gym Access

LauraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We stayed 9 nights and had a wonderful time! The neighborhood is quiet; the house is located near a cul de sac at the end of the road and was nice, clean, well-appointed, had beautiful landscaping, and was spacious for 2 people. We especially enjoyed the comfy bed, large lanai, and the open air athletic club (located a short drive away). Portia and Steve were kind, helpful, responsive to any questions we had, and even shared some delicious island fruit with us. We would love to stay here again! Mahalo!!
