Vacation rentals with lake access in Hancock County

Great stay for our family of 5 adults and 3 toddlers! Lots to do and great proximity to Acadia/Bar Harbor. House was well supplied with clear instructions. Brady also connected with us before the stay and kept in touch for anything that came up as a concern. Thank you!

What a beautiful stay. It was my first time in the area and at Acadia NP and I’m so happy I chose Jackie’s place in Winter Harbor rather than the busy Bar Harbor side. It was so peaceful and quiet in the evenings. There were also walking distance hikes in Acadia NP. There is a ferry on the Winter Harbor side to take into Bar Harbor which was a lovely scenic trip and incredibly convenient. There is a delicious seafood restaurant right down the street that was walking distance from the house as well. Jackie was so responsive and a great host. I would 10/10 book again.

This was our first time in Maine and Donna’s place was adorable! It’s a great location - you can see water and Fort Knox from the yard, and it’s super convenient to both Acadia and a ton of beautiful coastal towns!

This house is remarkably beautiful and welcoming. The walls of windows welcome sunshine throughout and the private views of the water are unmatched. Artistic details abound in the interior - like Anthro and West Elm had a baby. We vacationed with our toddler and my in-laws and we all had ample space to gather, as well as disperse. Highly recommend! Local recs: The Activity Shop for kayak rental delivery, pizza from Blaze, coffee from Bucklyn, brunch at Humblebee Cafe, sundries from Blue Hill Co-op, blueberry pie from Mount Desserts (on way to Acadia).

We had a wonderful weekend with friends for my husband's 40th birthday. Friday afternoon was beautiful for grilling and then a fire by the lake at night. Saturday was chilly and rainy which made for a great opportunity to take full advantage of the garage with multiple rounds of poker, some ping pong, pool, and darts. We had some sun again on Sunday for some relaxing on the dock and down time enjoying the beautiful view before heading home. Everyone agreed that they'd love to return.

We had a wonderful time in Dedham and the Narrows Lake House was a great home base. The lake is absolutely beautiful, and the house is relatively close to Ellsworth and Bangor, as well as Acadia. Really nice place to wake up every morning (with the added plus of a very friendly dog named Miss Aspen who will definitely say hi!). The house is pretty far back on a long and narrow gravel road, so it's not particularly walkable and you'll want to have a car that's at least a little bit suited for it. Our rented minivan was just fine but an older vehicle or one with dim headlights might make it a little tricky. The floors are also quite thin and sound travels downward, so if you have kids or louder members of your group, you'll want to have them stay in the basement if possible. Finally, Colleen was a kind and attentive host! She reached out before the stay, which was very appreciated, and is delightful to talk to. You'll be very well taken care of if anything does happen.

Michael was a great host! Awesome cabin, very clean and with amazing views. We were able to check in and check out with zero issues. The kayaks were a really great touch! The lake is beautiful and backyard is spacious. We used the grill one night and had a fire in the fire pit another. This was a really great week and we appreciate Michael for all his help and accommodations!

The Hadley home was so beautiful and comfortable! We felt right at home in such a beautiful space. It was well stocked with kitchen items, which made cooking at the house a breeze. Mike was such a great and responsive hosts with great recommendations around town. Hope to stay again!

The place was very beautiful. Its a perfect location for stay if you are planning to visit Acadia National Park. The place itself was very clean and well maintained. Kathleen was very helpful and responded quickly to our questions. They also have access to the shore at a 2 min walk which is a good spot to hangout during sunrise and sunset.

Had a great weekend staying at Naomi’s Airbnb while visiting Acadia! The apartment has a very modern finish to it and has all the amenities you might need while spending a cozy weekend in nature. The drive to Acadia is close to an hour but the location of the property is quite peaceful and right next to a lake.

Her place was brand new. Very tastefully decorated and furnished. Great water pressure. Perfect location. We really appreciated that they are dog friendly and enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay here again!!

This is a great place to stay, even better than it appears in the photos. It was not just clean, it was immaculate - and for an extremely observant nurse - that was awesome. The unit had easy access with a slight gradient path and only two steps - which was very helpful for us as seniors. The firm bed was very comfortable. Barbara was responsive and thought of everything, including having delicious specialty coffee for us - Thanks. She even had a cooler in the closet for us to use when we went to Acadia National Park. Like I said, she truly thought of everything. If we return to this area of Maine, we would love to stay again. We enjoyed our stay.

We loved our week long stay! The cabin is awesome and location is perfect. We spent time at Bar Harbor and Acadia. The lake is beautiful and so peaceful. John and Maria were great.

Had a great time. The house was clean and orderly. We had easy access to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, they were only 30-40 minutes away. We also enjoyed the very short walk to the water front to enjoy the views and the cool breeze off the water we even saw a lobster boat one evening! Definitely would recommend and stay here again!

The stay was great! Drove up from Ohio and after a very long day of driving, the place was relaxing and ready. The amenities were accurately described in the listing and reflected within. We enjoyed the unique aspects such as the frog decor and Orland decorations. Being in mid October, the heat inside was plenty to keep us warm. We had no issues whatsoever but it appeared that Vacasa was very responsive if any did arise. The highlight had to be the dock access to Heart Pond in the backyard. Caught many sunsets and sunrises there and it was beautiful. Great for stargazing too! Ellsworth is only a short drive for food/supplies. This was a great jumping off point to explore Acadia National Park!

My family loved this house. The setting was beautiful, and it had tons to keep my kids entertained (kayaks, fishing poles, indoor and outdoor games). There was also ample coffee (always a plus!) and staples for cooking. We spent a lot of time at Acadia, but rearranged some afternoons to spend more time at the house because my kids enjoyed it so much. Highly recommend!

You can stop searching for a place to stay because this is THE ONE. As a frequent traveler used to very nice accommodations, I have high expectations and it's rare that a place exceeds them, but Bay Meadow Cottages did just that. The cottages are extremely clean and obviously well-cared-for. The host communication was above and beyond. The pie and the coffee were really good. It was quiet and peaceful (tiny bit of road noise but not distracting). I would absolutely stay again and recommend highly to my friends and family. Also... the sheets were amazing. I slept so well. Definitely enjoyed the paddleboards and the Adirondack chairs for some down time in between hikes. It was the perfect getaway.

The cabin was breathtaking, with a history painted and photographed among her walls. Perfect amount of space to accommodate a family should you have one. The morning sunrise was spiritual, and humbling. Host was incredibly friendly and accommodating for our dog. Arjuna. Will absolutely be returning. Thank you for an amazing and beautiful experience.

Can’t say enough about Craig’s beautiful lakeside cottage. If you like remote, peaceful and being close to nature this is for you. The house and contents seemed brand new and they had thought of everything we could want, right down to pancake mix, maple syrup and Maine blueberries for our breakfasts. An easy drive to Acadia. Craig was communicative, friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic stay and hope we’ll be back.

Robert was an amazing host! Super kind and helpful from the beginning till the end. The house was just perfect,so cozy, peaceful, and full of thoughtful little touches. Everything was exactly as described (maybe even better!). We felt at home the moment we walked in and didn’t even notice how fast 10 days flew by. It will always be a special memory for us. Beautiful, serene location and a great cabin. We enjoyed the view, kayaking, and the thoughtful welcome. The cabin is very cute and had everything we needed. Easy to get to local attractions. Would definitely stay here again. Be sure to check out the Williams Family Farm store at the main road.

We had an amazing stay at Jason’s place despite a (mostly) rainy Memorial Day weekend! We still found plenty to do including inside the Airbnb, outside at the pond, and locally at all of the great restaurants/breweries/nature around. We also made it out to Acadia two of our days. I will say, the trip took longer than advertised (about an hour to get to the edge of the park), but was a pleasant enough ride. We also had our two dogs staying with us and we all felt right at home! Jason was a very responsive and helpful host as well - you can’t go wrong with this peaceful retreat on the pond!
