Family-friendly vacation rentals in Florence

Please do yourself the favor and book this space immediately. To call the home a palace would be an understatement. As a constant traveler, this is easily the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed at. Perfect view of the Uffizi gallery and river Arno. A 2 minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio and many surrounding markets and Osteria’s. Frederico is an amazing host and now a good friend of ours. He accommodated us and was super patient when we were checking out. The home is extremely well curated with beautiful works of arts and sculptures. The living room area is a great big space with giant windows that can be opened and marble bath tub and shower. I will be dreaming of returning to see our friend Frederico in Florence very soon. He has a kind soul and was very warm with us. Side note: our favorite restaurant was the Osteria Toscanella. Only a 5 minute walk from the space. Please tell Tony from the Osteria that Richard and Geraldine from Texas say “Hola”!!! Everyone made us feel at home.

Very nice apartment, tastefully decorated and well located! Very comfortable bed! Perfect bathroom with everything you need! If you go to bed early, the noise of the children in the park opposite can be a little disturbing! Restaurant suggestions are also very popular! The soundproofing of the accommodation is not great but normal because it is an old building! Thanks for everything Sylvia!

We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and the beautiful view of Florence it provides. Elisabetta gave clear instructions for check-in and made sure to reach out to us during the day to confirm everything was going well.

This had to be my favorite spot of our stays across Italy. The balcony in the early morning and at night when the breeze was blowing after a warm day, just made our stay one of the best we have experienced. Lucca's directions to the apartment along with the photos of doors, locks, buttons-made the check in the easiest. The home did have some noise from below, but nothing that was bothersome to us and I noticed there was a CD player set up in our bedroom should someone need it, but we did not. There was so much to see and do right outside our door-restaurants, cafe, bus stop, shopping and the historic sights were just up the road. It was the perfect location. Thank you for a memorable stay!

We had a great stay here. The apartment is remarkably quiet but also so accessible and walkable to all the restaurants and ships in historic district. Apartment was spotless and had all modern appliances and fixtures. Bed was super comfy and Romina was so helpful with recommendations and arrangements. Would absolutely stay here again.

Gherardo’s place was exactly as we expected— the apartment was very nice and the location was perfect. The neighborhood was quiet, yet close to the Duomo, restaurants and shopping. Gherardo accommodated our early check in and gave us some great recommendations for restaurants, gelato and shopping. We appreciated having a washer in the apartment, and the kitchen was well stocked. Gherardo’s communication was quick and extremely helpful, especially when dealing with the train strike. With his help, we were able to get tickets to travel to our next destination. Thank you for a great stay!

We spent 4 nights here and had the best time in Florence. The location was excellent. So walkable and felt safe. It was such a romantic lovely apartment and felt really authentic. This was our first experience of Airbnb and has encouraged us to do this kind of thing again. Super responsive to all my questions. You’ll love it here!

The pictures don’t do the beauty of the space justice. Maria, the housekeeper who lives in the basement unit was very discrete. Dawn was our host and set us up some incredible reservations, as well as helped us with a transportation issue. The view is otherworldly off the back porch, which overlooks olive trees. There are many adorable tortoises that live in the backyard and are very fun to watch. Close drive from the tram as well as many incredible restaurants. Take the cooking class with Maria!!! It was a trip highlight. If you stay here, you will definitely want a car.

My husband and I, plus our French Bulldog, had the pleasure of staying here for just over 3 weeks. Immediately felt like home, and host family had everything to do with that! Highly recommend. stunning views, fabulous location and some of the most gracious people I've ever met.

Hands down our favorite part of our two weeks in Italy! Casa Al Poggio was our Tuscan home away from home. We went and did all the things… Florence, Cinque Terre, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, etc. But coming “home” to this place was the best. So peaceful and picturesque looking across the valley at the Badia Di Passignano. We cooked many meals in the well stocked kitchen and my husband loved the rustic BBQ. Fresh herbs in the garden and the smell of jasmine blooming on the patio. Book yourself extra time here…you won’t want to leave! Emanuele & Tamara are the kindest people. Take them up on all of their restaurant recommendations. Everyone one was a hit! We can’t wait to go back.

Anna was a fantastic host, who treated us with the upmost respect and kindness. While her place is a bit difficult to find at first, once you're there, you're in one of the most beautiful scenes we've seen during our time in Italy. Also, it was close enough that we were still early able to travel into Florence each day we were there. Anna was so nice in providing us with breakfast each morning, which included apricot jam from her fruit trees and homemade bread. We would recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quiet place to stay outside of the busy city.

Leonardo, Lisa, & Nonna Sylvana all went the extra mile to make things run smoothly for us. With the welcoming torta & pizza, & the homemade lasagna a few days later, we were able to get by with very few groceries for the week. The villa & surroundings are incredible! The house is immaculate & well supplied. We didn't have a car but having one would have been nice to reach the surrounding area. We navigated the bus system that is available & it took us awhile to figure it out, but once learned, we were able to get to & from Florence. We walked to & from Impruneta which was further away than we realized. It's a bit tricky with no sidewalks, so we had to be careful. (Note: No taxis were available.) We splurged on a winery tour through Tours of Tuscany that picked us up & dropped us off at the villa, & drove us to 2 different wineries & San Gimignano. Amazing! Communication with our host was easy, very pleasant, & timely. We'd love to return & spend even more time there some day.

Simonetta made us feel truly at home—like a home away from home. Her place radiates peace and tranquility, offering a beautiful view of the countryside while being just a short and convenient train ride from Florence. The setting is perfect for relaxing and unwinding, yet close enough to explore the city with ease. My wife and I enjoyed every moment of our stay and would return without hesitation.

Monica was extremely helpful, she even met us in town so we could follow her to her home. The house is absolutely gorgeous. The property is beautifully landscaped and all the flowers are incredible. There is a wonderful restaurant/Inn across the street and we had a great dinner there. Next to her home is another farm that gives wine tasting and dinner. We had a wonderful time there and I highly recommend this home to everyone that wants to experience living in the Tuscany area. Thank you Monica for a great week.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Daniela’s place - it was clean, had stunning views and was quick access to Pisa, Florence & Siena. Beautiful pool and lovely terrace with amazing views and sunsets. The kitchen also had everything we needed, including local olive oil and pasta & local wine as a welcoming gift. Daniela went above and beyond providing us with lilos and a pump for the pool too. Overall, 10/10 stay!

Giuliani is a wonderful host who made us feel as if this slice of paradise was our home, too. The location, the meticulously restored home, the views all make for the ultimate Tuscan experience. But Giuliani and her husband bring it all together with their warmth and attentiveness. It was a tough place to say goodbye to — for now. If you are looking for a Tuscan experience, this is it. And remember to ask for the hosts’ home-cooked meal. It is a culinary experience in the very best sense.

We loved our stay at Michaela’s house. The views were beautiful and it was a nice and relaxing atmosphere. Great location, very short walk to the town or easy bus ride into the center of Florence. We will definitely be back!

We immediately fell in love with this property. Everything here makes up the image that can be made of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. At the top of the hill overlooking the valley, the view is splendid and romantic. The property has been renovated with today's comforts while retaining its soul of yesteryear. You feel good there, the energy is beneficial, nature, animals, everything is in harmony! The welcome, Oscar's cooking, the superb swimming pool, the shaded terrace, the hearty homemade breakfasts! It's more than a favorite, this place is a gem! We'll be back!

What a magical stay! Christine is a true host and not only has curated a beautiful space but she also was perfectly attentive to us during our stay. The apartment was as comfortable as it is beautiful. We took advantage of the outdoor grill and swimming pool and although we explored the area we would have been just as happy to stay “home” all day. The recommendations for the area were true gems. We had breakfast our last morning and it was the perfect ending to our stay! I don’t think you can find a more perfect place.

We stayed 5 amazing days at Il Gufo and loved every minute. Jacopo is an amazing host and went out of his way throughout to make our stay great. Even meeting us locally and showing us the way to the house. We highly recommend staying at The Owl. The location, high in a valley provides spectacular views and is perfect to relax and unwind. We do not know what was better. The location, accommodations or the fact that we met Jacopo and became immediate friends. That combination made for the greatest memories. Also Luba, their beautiful dog, immediately loved us and greeted us ever time we returned. A little secret, he is an amazing chef and if you get a chance to go to his restaurant do it. Also his dinner recommendations were great. We had dinner at Corte Dei Frati 2 times. Thank you Jacopo for making our 30th Anniversary trip so amazing. We feel privileged to have met you and we will return on our next trip to Italy. You are an amazing person and host. Love Steve & Vicki

Eva's place is absolute heaven. We stayed for 10 days with our two small children (1 and 4) and had the most wonderful time. The apartment is perfect – beautifully decorated with everything catered for. The outside garden and terrace is great for eating with amazing views. And the pool is also wonderful – we had it to ourselves the whole time we were there. We couldn't recommend this place more! Thank you, Eva and family!
