Hiking trails are right in front of the apartment, for example, they will lead to the Waldbach waterfall. Stay on the Way of Saint James you can enjoy the view of Lake Constance, Zurich crisis or the Säntis. In 25 minutes you can reach the Säntis or the seven Churfirsten as well as Thurwasser Falls by car. There is space for your car as well as bicycles.

The house is perfect for people who are looking to get a break from the big, loud world or would like to discover the beautiful Swiss mountains by foot. If you are coming by public transport you will need to hike one hour on a very beautiful hiking path (Weesen - Quinten). If you decide to come by car you will only need to hike 15min from the parking lot to the house. We highly recommend to wear good hiking shoes.

Welcome to Appenzellerland, in the valley of the Silvesterchläuse, in Urnäsch, an old house with a separate entrance, a nice place to sit, directly on the Urnäsch (stream) and the Postbus stop towards Schwägalp, the duplex apartment was renovated in the 1970s, with a small kitchen and a spacious living room to linger in, simple, quiet and cozy and good to know, in the other part of the house (private entrance) my parents live, but this does not affect you.

What a view! This was such a peaceful home to stay in. It was perfect for our family. We cooked a few dinners at the house and had a few dinners. Our host recommended renting a car as local bus doesn’t always run when you need it. I would recommend renting a car for this location as uber isn’t always available and it’s a hike up the mountain with luggage. We would definitely stay here again.

This was such an amazing Airbnb experience! Florence is a lovely host, she was great to talk to and she provided us with lots of local recommendations. The view is absolutely breathtaking and the space is super well maintained and very clean! Lucerne is a 25 minute drive from this location and it was nice to retreat from the city in the evening to enjoy a peaceful sunset! We’ll definitely be back and 10000% recommend this Airbnb!

Nina is a wonderful host. She is proactive, flexible, kind, and responsive. She had everything we needed in the apartment. The apartment is a beautiful large efficiency apartment with a full kitchen in a peaceful neighborhood in a small town that is on a lake. Bed is comfortable and shower is amazing. There is no air conditioner and no washing machine in the unit. There are lots of great hikes for nature lovers and the lovers of peace and tranquility. It would be easier if you had a car to get around but there is ample public transportation; there are buses and boats which will take you to the train station or other nearby towns. We love to walk and you can walk the entire town of Weesen which is about 1.5 or 2 miles. There is only one grocery store in town which is about 20 minutes walk or about 1 mile away. But you can always take the bus. The bus stop is about a block away. Thank you dear Nina for your kind hospitality. We felt at home. We will definitely return.

The apartment was ideal for us as a family of four. Sandra and her family are great hosts and very helpful. We felt totally comfortable in the apartment. It was a successful vacation, also thanks to the beautiful apartment and our hosts.

A gentle river flows through a lush green landscape, with scattered rocks and a small building resembling a chapel partially visible on the riverbank. Tall trees frame the scene, and rolling hills can be seen in the background under a clear blue sky.

Great place. Very private with ample of space. The view from the living room is fabulous. The place is uncluttered, very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. Peaceful calm village for a good getaway. We had a cat but the place is walkable close to the bus and railway.

We were delighted with our stay in Marcel and Wioleta's studio (Chalet Ruestel). It is very clean, very well located in Amden (Spar 140m; departure from the chairlift at 120m) and the reserved parking space is very nice. It was easy to communicate with Marcel and Wioleta, who are very responsive and welcoming. Thanks for everything!
