Barn vacation rentals in Brazos River

The guesthouse was very private. There was gardening staff around and the owner lives on site. The converted stable is finely decorated in an English style. It is a look, but don’t touch arrangement. That said, the restriction does not interfere in any way to the comfort and elegance of the site. The beds were very comfortable. The lighting is akin to a theatrical lighting, highlighting each area of the home. The views from the patio are uninterrupted of hill and sky. At night the stars are clearly visible. There is quarter mile trek with a gate that must be climbed over or through to be on the river trail. The country owned area is a leash free dog park and connects easily with the Kerrville city trailhead.

Linda was very helpful, and quick to respond when I had an unfortunate issue(my fault) that happened. Super thankful for the place to stay.

We had such a great time! I lived in Germany for a short bit many years ago and this sweet cozy house reminded me of the experience. It was fun to look around at all the decor from Germany. It was nice and quiet, and just a short uber ride from town. We loved the surprise German pastries put in our room and appreciated the bottled water that we forgot to bring with us! Thank you for being such a lovely host. We’d totally visit again.

The pictures do not do this place justice! It was so much better in person and that is saying a lot. Incredible dark skies in the evening, serene surroundings, and so intimate. Bernice was an absolute joy and her breakfasts rivaled the best 5 star establishments in all of Fredricksburg! This will be our go to stop!

If you’re looking to unplug and escape to the country while still being 15 minutes from any luxury or necessity, this is your place to stay. A lake is in the backyard, so amazing to sit on the porch and look at, or even take walks around! The property is quiet and peaceful and feels so safe. No need to fuss with locking the doors unless you really want to. You’re far into the property and NOBODY can access you because the gate is only openable with a code. You get every benefit of escaping to the country while still being able to access fun activities in town and loads of restaurants. It’s perfect. And there’s plenty room in this little house. It was just two of us but I feel like 2 couples could share this place easy. Thank you for an incredible time away, we can’t wait to come back!

Helen and Joe were able to accommodate us after our previous booking canceled on us at the last minute and their place was awesome! They were very gracious hosts. The house was located a short drive from the Texas Ren Fest, had plenty of beds, was very clean, and the hot tub and pool were fantastic after a long day of walking. 10/10 would stay here again the next time we come down for the Ren Fest.

This was my third time to stay at Big D Bunkhouse. Always clean, always comfortable. Beautiful surroundings. Perfect for what we needed. Wish the bass pond had more water, but you can't control mother nature. Thanks DeLynn for another wonderful stay.

Spent a nice getaway weekend with my girlfriend and proposed to her on this trip. The area is nice and peaceful with an amazing view of the countryside. We love animals so seeing the horses near the barn was so nice. Inside was very clean and had a cozy vibe to it. 10/10 Would love to come back again. - Juan & Yolanda

This was exactly what I had hoped for when booking this spot! It looked exactly like the photos, and truly met, and then exceeded, our expectations! Karen and Henry were great hosts who truly went above & beyond in every way. We hope to return soon!!

Our daughter’s bridesmaids stayed here for a wedding nearby. It was perfect! The outside was pristine and the inside was adorable! The hosts were so sweet and helped make our weekend amazing!

We used the Smokies Times Barnhouse for a getaway for my wife's birthday. Beautiful surroundings and great location! It's close enough to Fredericksburg to run in for for restaurant meals and far enough away to enjoy the beautiful countryside and relax in the hot tub in the evenings. Great host! Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Karon is a wonderful host! We have stayed at Reata Ranch several times, and the house and hospitality is excellent every time. We enjoy seeing the upgrades with every visit. This time it was more rockers on the front porch and a new rock sidewalk. We will definitely stay again! Karon is the best!

Red Sky Ranch was an absolute dream! We stayed as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids under 5. We also got to bring along our dog as the place is pet friendly and she loved roaming around the property and exploring with us. The house is gorgeous, the property is peaceful and private, and everything was in tip top shape. Jeff was readily available for any questions and provided us with some wonderful restaurant and activity recommendations. If you’re looking for a relaxing stay, look no further!

Micheal was extremely responsive and helpful and the air bnb itself was absolutely phenomenal! Everyone who came with us really enjoyed the space, pool and other amenities! Definitely Highly recommend!!

A perfect spot for a large group get away. Plenty of space inside for sleeping arrangements, seating and eating. Outdoor space on 2 levels of deck. Large yard with lake access for fishing. Plenty of parking. House is at the end of a quiet street, very secluded. There are 3 bedrooms and the long dining table downstairs. The 2 bunk rooms, kitchen and smaller dining table upstairs. We would definitely recommend, especially for a larger group that wants to stay together. Hosts were very responsive and helpful.

Loved our stay at Levi Gin! Beautiful accommodations! Perfect for gatherings of family and friends! Great communications and immediate attention to minor issues. We loved all the beautiful decor and the kitchen was great! Highly recommend.

We really lucked up by finding this place! We’ve always wanted to stay in a barn and this was the perfect place to knock that off of our bucket list! The hosts were absolutely incredible and so friendly! Rick greeted us at check in and he and Christie were very communicative throughout the whole stay. Everything was spot on from the pictures and this was just the perfect spot to spend our first night as an engaged couple with our little family. 10/10 would recommend and visit again!

Carol went above and beyond to make our stay as good as it could be. We arrived to a fully stocked kitchen, loads of yummy snacks and everything we could possibly need. I told Carol when we met her that I’d challenged myself to find something that wasn’t already in the tiny house, I failed! The tiny house itself is awesome, it has loads of storage, full size shower, comfy bed and has high ceilings / is light and airy. It has a beautiful private porch right next to the stables which was fantastic during the cool evenings. Carol was the nicest person you could hope to meet. We had long chats exchanging stories and above all else Carol arranged for us to spend some time with her and her horse trainer to learn how it’s done in Texas and later Carol gave us a beginners lesson to riding which was one of the highlights of our trip to the US. Thank you Carol, Bugs and Jax!

Second time staying here and it was as beautiful and peaceful as always. Lili always respond almost instantly and is very helpful and nice. We will definitely be staying here again!

Kim was extremely friendly and very responsive. I would love to book with her again. The instructions she provided were clear, and she communicated with us throughout our stay. The property itself was nice and offered adequate sleeping arrangements for several people. Being pet-friendly was a plus as well. The rainwater collected there tasted great—especially straight from the tap! There were also plenty of 5-gallon water jugs provided, along with a dispenser for clean, fresh drinking water. The location was fantastic; it felt a bit remote yet wasn’t too far from the city, Texas State University campus and stadium, and the San Marcos River. It’s the perfect spot for planning a river float trip or visiting the campus and city while enjoying a peaceful stay with friends and family!

My husband threw me a surprise birthday party with all my friends and family. The house was beautiful and it was a great surprise. The caretaker was friendly and we were able to get fresh eggs from the chickens. The kitchen was fully stocked and the pool area was clean and relaxing. It was a great experience!!
