I enjoyed my stay at this incredibly peaceful and relaxing property. Christy is an incredible host who is very responsive, thoughtful, and committed to ensuring that everything I needed was cared for. I have never stayed in such a unique property, which is the embodiment of indoor/outdoor living. There are also plenty of amazing activities to do around the area. I enjoyed hiking the Islands in the Sky Vista Loop (just down the street from the property), as well as visiting Goat Rock Beach and spending time in the nearby small town of Duncan Mills. The only thing of note from my stay is that I encountered a few banana slugs on the property. While they are completely harmless and I never encountered them indoors, they do tend to hang around on the path from the Yurt to the house and can be a bit shocking upon first sight. However all in all, this is an amazing place and I would highly recommend it for those looking to escape and connect with nature.

Had a great stay. Very peaceful and quiet. A beautiful pool and hot tub. There’s a path of old growth redwoods right down the street which I went too often. It is also a very beautiful short drive to the ocean. This place is a little bit out of the way so I suggest getting everything you need at the store before you go. Also found out there is no gas station in Occidental! But if you’re looking for a peaceful forest retreat this is the place.

Nice place, clean, great view. Really enjoyed the stay. Someone mentioned the short duration of hot water in the shower- it actually lasted for awhile so perhaps they solved that problem. It would be great if they fixed / updated the door locks and keypad. They are very old. The back door handle fell off and also the lockbox for key. It’s difficult to lock the doors. Would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend.

Such a beautiful place to stay. We loved our time watching the wildlife, walking to the harbor, and just enjoying the peace and quiet. We loved reading the history of the house and seeing photos of families who had lived there. I was thankful for the table in the bathroom and the shelves in the bedroom to hold our belongings. There is no bathroom upstairs so we stayed downstairs, but it was fine for the two of us. Jodie is a friendly host and always responded to messages/questions. We would love to come back.

We really enjoyed our stay! The home was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. We loved being just a short walk from two great restaurants, and there were plenty of other dining options just a quick drive away. The house had everything we needed and was especially family-friendly with lots of books, toys, and games to keep our 14-month-old entertained. It was a great place to relax and made for a smooth, enjoyable trip.

We had a wonderful stay at Surfscape in Bodega Bay! The home was clean, cozy, and perfectly set up for a relaxing family getaway. The views were stunning, waking up to the ocean and watching the sunset from the deck was unforgettable. The layout was great for our family, with comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, and thoughtful touches throughout the space. The location is peaceful and just a short drive to town and the beach. We really appreciated how quiet and private the area felt, it was the perfect spot to unplug and recharge. Communication with the host was smooth and easy as well. We’d definitely come back again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a scenic, relaxing stay by the coast!
