Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Appomattox County

If I could give this place and the owners more than 5 stars, I would. The house and the views were absolutely amazing! The owners were fantastic and very responsive! My family was in town because my daughter was getting married and they fell in love with the place. My 83 year old father even caught some fish in the catch and release pond! I absolutely would recommend this place to anyone.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property! The combination of the mountain house and the river house was perfect—each had its own charm and stunning views. Our kids had an absolute blast exploring the area, playing by the river, and enjoying the open space around the houses. It’s a fantastic spot for families with children. The views are breathtaking, and everything was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. We would definitely love to come back!

Our family of seven spent two nights here to have family Thanksgiving, The drive to the house is very beautiful with mountains in the distance. The house was very spacious and clean. The integrity of the farm house itself is very warm, with many of the original floors and woodwork. The game room in the basement is a plus. Morning walks down by the creek give you an opportunity to be connected to nature. Very special visit and most definitely would recommend this charming home to others. Thank you Shantina for such a great adventure!

Tracy’s place is beautiful! It was extremely peaceful & comfortable! Perfect spot for our stay while we were in town for a concert.

This place was great, and somewhere my friends and I really enjoyed. It was a perfect balance of being super close to everything while being off to yourself. It was very clean and up to date! Definitely would stay again!

We had a great stay for Longwood’s graduation weekend. The host, Regina, went above and beyond the call of duty, and found an important item for us that accidentally was placed in the trash she was kind enough to mail it to us. The house is comfortable and nice—conveniently located for access to Farmville or Appomattox. If you are traveling with a dog this is a great choice.

Very lovely home at a crossroad. The house was clean, with nice furnishings, appliances and a well outfitted kitchen. The local host was very kind and responsive. Peaceful interior atmosphere.

We had a wonderful stay! The hosts were incredibly nice, responsive, and personable; they made us feel genuinely welcomed from the start. Communication was easy, and they were quick to respond to any questions we had. The space was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. You can tell they really care about their guests. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place with a personal touch!

My wife and I stayed at Darren's and Fran's place for three nights while we were in town for a wedding. The area felt pretty safe, and it was relatively quiet during our stay (late May). The parking garage was extremely convenient. The apartment felt like a mini home and was stocked with everything you need for an extended weekend, plus lots of recommendations in their welcome book. Our favorite part was how extremely comfortable and soft the bed sheets were. Overall, we would recommend this cozy spot.

Visited Amherst for a family members graduation. Chose this location because it was very close to my family and was easy access for my husband who is in stroke recovery. We were met upon arrival and received a friendly greeting. Everything was clean and plentiful. Privacy was respected, they even had a few snacks available. I only had one issue with the lock and that was beyond their control. (Battery). I had to call them at midnight. I truly hated to wake them up but they were very nice and accommodating about the situation. If I find the need to stay in Amherst again I will check to see if there’s availability.

Accommodations as described PLUS, the bed is unbelievably comfortable. We slept soundly every night and woke up refreshed. We were able to enjoy great family time in this cozy space. The location was superb with all of our activities ( pickleball, beach volleyball, bowling, Sam’s Club and Kroger) all within 15 minutes. If Paul’s place is available we will stay here again. Thankful for an exceptional stay!

I absolutely loved staying here and seeing beautiful nature

Stayed for 2 nights while in town for a wedding & loved our stay! Our accommodations were clean & filled with snacks/coffee/all the little things that make you feel cared for as a guest. We’d absolutely stay again :)

We loved our stay, had everything we needed. The home is newer and was clean, spacious and very nicely decorated. The view is simply lovely. We were in town for a wedding but plan on coming back and could not imagine staying anywhere else. Great coffee shops, restaurants, shops, parks, trails and even farmers market are walkable from Angel’s home.

Absolutely beautiful space! The unit is in a well-kept historic building with so much charm. Everything was thoughtfully designed with great attention to detail, and there was a ton of space to spread out and relax. The beds were super comfortable, and the whole place had such a welcoming feel. My favorite part was the private balcony—it almost felt like a rooftop with its view overlooking the city. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back again soon!

Stylish condo with beautiful views off the Bluffwalk. Very clean and well-appointed with comfortable and cozy bedding. Awesome central location within downtown - so many fun shops and restaurants in walking distance. Great walking trails along the river as well! Jessica is great to deal with, very responsive. Highly recommend, and hope to return!

Beautiful and very clean condo. The location worked great for us and the check in directions were clear and precise. I will choose to stay here every time I visit Forest.

Michael was great! He was very communicative during our stay, and when the Keurig stopped working he was there within 30 mins to bring us a new one. They also left us little goodies for being first time guests. The decorations inside were beautiful, and the beds were super comfortable. We would definitely stay with Micheal again in the future!

The neighborhood was quiet, safe, and in a great location with easy access to restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Check-in was smooth, and communication with the host was clear and friendly. We had a wonderful visit in Lynchburg for Senior weekend at the University of Lynchburg. Beautiful Airbnb, close to lots of food options downtown. The loft s funky and beautifully decorated. My adult kids loved it too! We would definitely stay here again.
