Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Appledore

Kate and Ali were very welcoming hosts with a fantastic decorative eye! The space is wonderful and the photos don’t give justice to the space or quirkiness which was right up our street. They were thoughtful with a welcome pack and provisions for us to be starting off with, especially the eggs! They were readily available with batteries when we needed them and provided lots of helpful input about the surrounding area. We loved the alpacas and the hens and were sad that we only spent time with Spiderman on our first day as he kept his distance thereafter. We really enjoyed the space which worked perfectly for our party, with access to a WC/bathroom on each level. Thanks again, Kate and Ali

We had the most wonderful week at the Rocket House. James has created the most wonderfully welcoming and enjoyable space. The house was truly more beautiful than we anticipated. It had everything we needed. The amenities were functional and well-appointed. The whole house was well-suited for our needs and was incredibly livable. My favorite part was the windows. If I have to clean up from dinner, the view made it so much more enjoyable. Additionally, the house was spotless and easily accessible. Check-in and check-out were super easy. Also, learning about the history of the house made it more meaningful to discover the specialness of the location and the house's origins. I CANNOT say enough good things about the location. The SW Coast Path is literally just outside the door. The views were stunning. Working with James was a joy. He was communicative, informative, and accommodating. I have already sent this listing to multiple friends!

Lovely little base to come back to in the evening. Good location for exploring Devon. Tucked away so you don't feel overlooked. Appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. Comfy bed. Enjoyed watching the birds & dragonflies in the garden. Nice people. Easy parking. Excellent value for money.

Great stay that gives you so much more than you would get for the same price as a Travelodge. Small but well laid out and ample room for 2 + infant and a dog. We particularly enjoyed the location.

Lovely home, well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. Great for 4 legged friends with a secure garden and suitable furnishings etc. The home is in a lovely area , with great views over the estuary from the rear of the house, particularly the main bedroom. Bideford itself is very pretty and a good base for exploring North Devon as it is close to the A39 / Atlantic Highway.

What can we say, from booking our stay, to leaving after an amazing week, we truly felt at home. Kam and Bens home is beautiful throughout, there wasn’t one thing that we thought we needed or wanted that wasn’t provided for. Kam met us on arrival, earlier than we expected, and showed us around her wonderful home, all instructions in a helpful guide in the kitchen, even tide times, for trips. Great advice for our trip to Lundy, she even sent us up to date weather forecast . Kam provided us with mobile numbers if we were stuck for anything, and ensured it was ok for Ben to check the hot-tub, when we were out. Lovely touches, such as robes for getting out of the tub, were much appreciated. Superb hosts, will definitely visit again, our daughter and her partner joined us for a few days and loved every minute, lovely walk to the beach, only 10mins away, and the most amazing sunsets from the lounge and bedroom . What a find - what a place! Great accommodation and home from home - lots to do nearby and plenty of great pubs right on your doorstep - kids loved it - we loved it and a real treat !!

We really enjoyed our stay in Appledore. The house was a great base, and was home from home. The house was well equipped with everything that we needed. Comfortable beds. No parking at the property, but we always managed to find somewhere. Parking for 24 hours in the car park was £5.50. Dog towels, bed and bowl was a nice touch. 😊 We had a lovely meal at the Flame Factory, and would recommend to others. We received a warm welcome in any of the pubs/ restaurants that we visited, and many had live music on different nights. We would return again.

Aisling was an amazing host. Answered any queries in a very friendly and efficient manner. Accommodation was very clean,had everything we needed. Great location,short walk to beach etc. Parking very useful. Would highly recommend. 🙂

A very nice flat with fantastic seaviews. Has everything that you need and the communication with the host was always exemplary.

Leilas appartment has a lovely view of the harbour. The walk down is fairly steep so consequently so is the walk back. It’s a good central point for checking out North Devon.

Fantastic little spot, 5 mins walk to the harbour 10mins to the center of town. Views were stunning and the photo's and description didn't really do it justice, better than we expected. Perfect spot to explore the North Coast.

Lovely two nights in this hidden gem. We were late bookers and delighted with location, accommodation and hosts. For the two of us and our hound it was perfect; we received a welcome greeting and the treats were a lovely surprise. Shame for us we only had two nights there.

Great place to stay when visiting friends and family. Friendly host met us and showed us around the apartment, then gave us time to ourselves. Always great when tea, coffee and milk are left for you too. Nice comfy big bed, slept late days. Would definitely stay again

What a great place to stay! Everything in Ilfracombe was walkable from here. We were attending a wedding at tunnels beach and this gave us the perfect base. The flat was excellent. High standard of fittings and features and everything we could have needed. Louise was quick to respond and gave me really clear instructions for finding the flat. And the private off road parking space was brilliant and hassle free. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had a fantastic time staying at Carol’s place. The accommodation was very private, quiet and had lovely views. The garden was perfect for our dog, and the additional touches she left us were lovely. Inside, the rooms were spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. With the flat being quite far into Langleigh Park, we didn’t feel that we could walk into Ilfracombe, but that didn’t stop us doing everything we wanted to do (you can park for free after 6pm in the Harbour anyway, so we made use of this).

A great place to stay near Bude and the seaside. Good parking, comfortable bed, everything required to make a lovely stay. Excellent hosts, quiet, lovely surroundings. Highly recommended if you're visiting the area! 😊

Adrienne’s apartment was fantastic for our stay in Woolacombe, including for our 3 year old Labrador. The apartment is in a great location just 5 minutes walk from the town and no more than 10 minutes from the beach, with amazing views from the balcony, from which we had some beautiful meals overlooking the sea. The apartment itself is very comfortable, equipped with everything we needed and we couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you for a brilliant stay - we’d love to come back!

Emma’s description of The Snug is spot on and her communication was excellent. A slightly unprepossessing exterior belies a very comfortable and cosy apartment. It’s very well equipped with some very thoughtful touches and it had everything we needed for a short stay and was spotless clean. We met the neighbours who were very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend.

Emily’s apartment is really comfy and more than covers all the bases. It was clean, light and well equipped. Emily sets you up with tea, milk etc. Easy parking and handy for the beaches and lovely walks. We slept well and found it an easy, attractive and generally great base for our stay. Communication with Emily was excellent. Thankyou.

Another visit as so enjoyed previous. Easy access even on a bank holiday weekend to Combe Martin and Woolacombe accompanied by elderly relative. Thank you for another great stay!

Apartment was lovely, as described and a good location for exploring Ilfracombe and surrounding areas. It is an apartment in a block, so we could hear the apartment above and while we were there, they were very noisy. Local pubs and restaurants were very good and only a short drive to Woolacombe beach, well worth a visit. Communication from Shirley was excellent.

We used the cottage as a base whilst walking a stretch of the South West Coast Path. It was absolutely perfect for us: very comfortable bed, a bath, a shower and a private garden - everything we needed to relax after a day's walking. The place was spotless, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Sarah was friendly and communication was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

This was our 2nd visit and it still didn't disappoint. The apartment was perfect for a young visit. It was a short drive to the beach and for a rainy day there was a soft play round close by for the kids. We will be back.
