House vacation rentals in Almyrida

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Philia. A lovely peaceful private house in the heart of the beautiful village of Gavalohori. Wonderful facilities, nice shady decks with great views of the White Mountains. The pool is amazing - you share it with the downstairs apartment, but it is super private. The local tavernas are amazing, and a nice little bakery and a couple of small convenience stores. Walking around Gavalohori is just beautiful. Angelos met us on arrival, shared his mother's home made spinach pies and of course, raki. The house was wonderfully ventilated with insect screens on all the windows - we didn't need to use the AC at all. If you are looking to escape the touristy towns, a stay at at Villa Philia in beautiful Gavalohori is a must.

We were a party of five, my wife and I and 3 30 year olds, our two twins and a son-in-law. We all couldn't say enough good things about this home: the view has to be one of the best on the whole island, relaxing, extremely private and immediately felt right at home. Starting and ending each day with that view, I didn't need anything else, but there is as much to do as you want. For example, just 6 minutes down the hill, you have the great little town of Platka with a few delicious local restaurants, market and a nice sports bar if you want a cocktail...like me. Another 10 minutes down the hill you come to Alymrida, the small coastal city that has nearly a dozen varied restaurants right on the water. 40 minutes away is the charming city of Chania, the jewel of Crete. This home is centrally located, 20+ minutes from the highway to go anywhere you wish to go...but keep in mind your leaving this view behind. I hope you enjoy it half as much as we did.

We had a wonderful stay at this amazing house in Crete! The home itself is spacious, beautifully maintained, and set in a peaceful and scenic environment. The large garden was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the quiet surroundings. The location is ideal, Kalyves and Chania were both fantastic to explore, with stunning beaches, charming streets, and great local food. Our host was incredibly responsive and kind, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We felt truly welcome. Highly recommended, we would love to come back!

My wife and I had a great 2 weeks at Villa Yianna. Maria, the host was brilliant and communication was top notch. The Villa itself was clean, spacious and had everything you needed. The outside areas had amazing views, although the location is a little close to a main road so can be a bit noisy during the day. It's just a 10 minute walk into Kalyves and 20 to Almyrida, both beautiful coastal towns. Make sure you check out Mistrali bar in Kalyves, great service, lovely beach area and good value for money. I'd thoroughly recommend Villa Yianna!!

I recently stayed at this beautiful villa in Greece, and it exceeded all my expectations! The property is stunning, with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and a fantastic pool that was perfect for cooling off during the hot days. The villa itself is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the bedrooms were cozy and inviting. I truly recommend staying with Niko in this beautiful villa! The house is very modern, the outside area spectacular and private and the communication with Niko was clear and helpful. The accommodation works for both families and friends. The house is located around 30mins from Chania which is easy to get to by car. Can only recommend renting this villa.

We had a great time staying at Zoi and Jorge's place, Villa Amorada is picture perfect and the surrounds are stunning.

This was the best AirBnb I've ever stayed at, and it really made our trip to Crete. Maria was an A+ host. She was extremely responsive and helpful and pointed us to all of the best beaches and restaurants. The house is in immaculate condition, very clean, and very spacious, and is only 10 minutes from downtown Chania. Thank you for everything, Maria!

We had a lovely time at Sotiris and Katherina's house. The house is comfortable and in great shape and and Sotiris and Katherina are excellent and super friendly hosts. They were flexible with check in, highly communicative and super generous with leaving us excellent food, all self-made: wine, olive oil, pastries, and what not. The surroundings are quiet and pleasant, there is a beautiful view from the balcony, and the village has good tavernas and a nice playground for kids.

We had a wonderful two weeks at this rental. Sthatis and Alexandra were fantastic hosts, very responsive and accommodating. The house is exactly like the photos (minus the hanging chairs- but they were not missed). It is ade up of two separate apartments each with 2 bedrooms. It is well equipped and gets the most beautiful sunsets, perfect for an evening barbeque . If you wish to explore the island you will definitely need a car but it is wonderfully located between many of the islands attractions and accessible from both airports. The lovely maid (whose name I cannot remember- sorry!) attended twice. We had some unusual weather while we were there, including a sandstorm which coated the entire area in dust, but Stathis and Alexandra had organised the following day to have the outdoor areas cleaned and the pool water serviced so that we could use the facilities, which we were very impressed by. Overall it was a fantastic choice and we would recommend it to anybody considering staying

We had a wonderful stay in Aptera. The location was perfect; close to Chania and an easy drive to other locations in western Crete but still rural, quiet, and private. There's an incredible view of the mountains right out of the front door. Mihalis was really friendly and gave us many local recommendations. We highly recommend a stay here!

The property is very spacious, rustically furnished and offers 3 cozy bedrooms. There is a large quiet courtyard with seating and you can eat well outside. There is also the possibility to wash and hang laundry. We were delighted with a basket full of oranges, Easter bread, cookies, water and more! 😊 The apartment is located in a small mountain village and is a good starting point for activities (such as hikes) in the area. The coastal cities of Chania and Rhetymno can be reached in about 40 minutes. Beautiful beaches are also just around the corner (by car!). We felt completely comfortable. Only small criticism: Wi-Fi and Internet in general was rather difficult.

The place is so beautiful and clean. The view from the outdoors is nice and peaceful. The scene of sheep eating grass multiple times a day in a small field under the pool is wonderful. (Photo first house) Maria, who showed us around, is so kind and nice.

We had such a great stay! We were so close to the water but also close to markets and restaurants. Dimitri was incredibly helpful and was there when we checked in and when we checked out, despite the fact that we got in quite late. Would highly recommend!

From the minute we walked in the door until the last second we were there, Maria’s place impressed us. The views are stunning!! Every room has a balcony with a view. The view from the kitchen window above the sink and the outdoor sitting area next to the kitchen was magnificent. Everything was pristine, from the kitchen to the bedrooms to the outdoor areas. The bedrooms have double doors with pullout screens and roll down security/weather shutters. Thami Villa really was everything we hoped it would be and Maria was always responsive, helpful and friendly. We can’t wait to return!!!

Filipas House was a nice place to stay. The terrace upstairs was particularly great. Douliana was a charming village, with lots to see nearby. Myrtos was very responsive.

We were in this accommodation as a family, it is even more beautiful than the pictures! You really have great privacy, the street is quiet! The house was super clean, everything was thought of! Eleni was super helpful with everything, we even had fruit cookies as a welcome gift:-) You felt super comfortable, which I also liked very much, that coffee, cleaning supplies, salt, sugar and other things were already in the house so that you could start the holiday pleasantly! We haven't had that with the other villas yet! The view is mega, we will definitely come back

This was a family vacation for us. We had an opportunity to stay for the entire month of April. How lucky is that. Once we got to the village my GPS couldn’t find the property and Antonis met us and took us to the property. The home was as described. It was very nice and perfect size. The beds were so comfortable I slept like a baby. The primary bedroom and bath are a good size. Both additional bedrooms are a good size as well. The outside has a nice table that seats 6 and 4 lounge chairs. I would recommend this home and if I come back to this village I would rent it again.
