Amazing location right on the river with beautiful views and excellent fishing. Incredibly relaxing! Highly recommend and would definitely return.

Excellent stay at this Airbnb. If you are thinking of coming to St Helen to ride the ORV trails, this is an excellent choice! It’s right down the street from St Helen Motorsports, two gas stations, 3 restaurants, 2 pizza shops and multiple trail head entrances within 2 miles or less!!! The house looks exactly like the pictures and description, and the hot tub, outdoor fire pit, and indoor fireplace were amazing! I will note….it is a bit on the small side. Beds are as described, but feet hang off the bed and rooms are small. 4 grown adults was pushing it here, especially with one bathroom. Also note. There is BARELY enough room for a small truck and trailer to park in front. The other truck had to park underneath the large garage due to no park space. Other than that, which is really just an explanation, it is the ultimate st Helen stop!

My husband spent two nights at this wonderful cabin and so enjoyed our time there! We ate at the boat house for lunch one day and walked the Wolf Creek Trailhead another, but other than that we enjoyed being at the cabin! The backyard was incredibly serene! We read and talked for hours around the bonfire until dark and then hit the hot tub both nights! What a wonderful space to get away and reconnect as a couple! I would absolutely suggest it as a couples get away! ❤️

This stay was exceptional. A perfect place to relax and unwind. The lofted bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was incredibly well appointed, and of course access to a top-of-line hot tub doesn’t hurt. We also loved using the blackstone. The whole cabin was thoughtfully built, decorated and maintained. We loved having a coffee/drink on the upper dock overlooking the river every morning and evening. Easy access to the river. Walking the neighborhood felt akin to a nature reserve. 10/10 stay, we hope to return many times

My wife’s family wanted to go to the casino in Standish. We didn’t, but it was an excuse to get away. This is 30 minutes away. As soon as we walked in the door, we fell in love with the place. The smell of fresh pine is everywhere, and it’s real. As I walked through the place, I thought of asking about the process they went through to make this beautiful cabin. There’s actually a picture book on the mantle that shows how they started with an empty shell. Very cool. If you look only at square footage, this is a small cabin. But, they use the space very efficiently. I never thought for one moment that the place was small or cramped. And, this is way better than a cabin at a campground. But, the real highlight is the host. It soon started feeling like we were family. Not family that makes you go to a stupid casino, but someone that’s there for you, always responding within minutes, even at 12:30 in the morning. I wish my family were more like that. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful getaway at Maggie’s place. We loved everything from the decor to the stocked kitchen and the gorgeous yard. You can tell that Maggie pays close attention to details- anticipating everything that guests may need. The hot tub on the screened-in porch was absolutely perfect. Everyone in our group slept great in the comfy beds. Plenty of linens, sound machines, ceiling fans, and heat and AC. We lucked out with perfect weather so we were able to sleep with the windows open and wake up to the sound of birds which added to a perfect relaxing weekend with old friends. We were even able to enjoy some yoga in the well-kept backyard. We are already talking about when we all get away again so we can come back!

Great place to stay. Close to restaurants, gas stations and the water is right down the street. Also we stayed to go golfing. A lot of golf within 20 minutes. Definitely worth giving it a look.

Our family loved the time we had at Todd’s cabin, it was exactly what we needed. The cabin is in a very peaceful, quiet setting. The beds were very comfortable, both adults and kids loved the jukebox and games, and being able to have a kitchen that was equipped with all the pots/utensils/things we needed was huge. It made cooking at the cabin for ourselves a breeze. Todd was a great communicator and we had no issues during our stay at all. Thanks again so much!

Everything I hoped for! It was a perfect get away for my dog and myself. During the day we kayaked, sun tanned on the beach, play fetch, grilled, fire, and most importantly relaxed. The host is kind and quickly responds. The bed is so comfortable especially because I have back issues. Everything is organized, neat, thoughtful and clean. Nice hot shower with plenty of extra supplies if you forgot something. We enjoyed going to Steve’s country market for meat and Up North coffee shop, I recommend both. I enjoyed our time so much we made memories that will last a life time. We hope to be back again soon. 💕

Great little secluded getaway! Kyle was friendly and responsive and the place made us feel like we were in a cabin while also having all the modern amenities to not sacrifice on comfort. 10/10

Nice spot, perfect for our needs - fishing the au sable river nearby. Good beds and furniture. Kitchen was spartan but totally adequate. Out in the woods, whitetail deer wandering on property. Beautiful pine forest. Very secluded but easy to find.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Yellow Door Lodge! The place is beautifully designed — cozy, stylish, and thoughtfully put together in every corner. It felt like a perfect home away from home. Rex was incredibly responsive and went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. His warm hospitality truly made a difference and added to the overall experience. Our dog, Puntu, had a great time too — it’s such a pet-friendly spot! He enjoyed exploring and relaxing just as much as we did. The lakeside area was a highlight. We spent some peaceful time there soaking in the view, and it added to the whole relaxing vibe of the trip. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, well-designed getaway with great hosts!

We reserved this Airbnb so we could attend a Celebration of Life for my dear cousin, who had lived in Houghton Lake for over 35 years. He sadly passed away in February of this year. My husband and I have rented through Airbnb for 10 years, but always further north. We were very pleased with the rental and will definitely rent from them again. Love what they are doing to the back yard and can’t wait to come back up and use the fire pit. The home was very clean, spacious and nicely decorated and furnished. We would recommend this renting this home.

The Long Lake cabin worked out great for our adventures. It was peaceful and everything that we needed. Communication with the Hosts was great and they were very responsive and accommodating to our requests. And they are close by should any issues arise.

Cortneys place was very peaceful and beautiful! Plenty of room and a lot of things for the kids to do! It was really nice to have fire wood there and not to have to go find some.

Great place. Close to the trails and lots of parking. We fit 2 trucks and flatbed trailers into the driveway. The home is as pictured. Felt safe and comfortable.

This place was a hidden gem! We live in northern Michigan and wanted to be away from some of the crowds during a holiday weekend. This tiny home was exactly what we were looking for! A quick couple min drive into Harrison, but super private. All of the amenities were amazing and thoughtful, and the bed was very comfy. We will be back!

We had a great time here! Very clean cabin in a great quiet location. We saw deer in the backyard and enjoyed a cozy weekend in. Great view of the lake. 10/10!

My husband rented this cabin for the month of May, to indulge his fly-fishing love. We live just 3 hours from site, so me driving to visit or hang for a week, was easy. I loved meeting our hosts and we enjoyed interesting conversation with them. May we meet again in the future! This is a beautiful, well-appointed cabin/apartment in a secluded location on the Au Sable River. Our hosts were friendly, warm and easy-going. They were a joy to be around when we would run into each other. Weather was iffy for the month: a lot of rain, cold and wind. Time would be spent tying flies or reading. The view from the balcony is the Au Sable River. This cabin offers a restful visit. If there is any inconvenience, it would be the 15 minute drive on a dirt road to get to pavement. So going into town for food, etc., might take half an hour. As noted, there is a long flight of stairs to get into cabin. Bathroom is large with a washer/dryer inside. The Queen mattresses and quality bedding were so comfy!
